  1. Bogdanovic has been pretty dominant the last 20 games. Seems strange he had a problem being the 4th option on the Bucks though. That once we traded for Jrue, he was disappointed. I feel like he'd be getting pretty much the same number of shots and the same usage rate in Milwaukee as he does in Atlanta with Young, Collins and Hunter. I'm still a big fan of DD though. I'd prefer Bogdan, but Donte is a really nice high energy player who attacks and can defend. I am kinda waiting for him to take that next step though. Become a more viable 4th option.
  2. Not terribly far though. They have a lot of picks, but mostly low value. The Athletic had the Packers trade with Tennessee - getting pick No. 22 (Tennessee's 1st rounder) in exchange for Nos. 29 and 92 (our 1st and 3rd picks). Packers then take LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. A Safety/LB'er hybrid in the 1st...he could be a helluva player, but not sure he'd be the guy I'd like to see them target if they move up. I just don't see the need there as much as I do at CB/OT. That said, he does seem like a bigger, more physical version of Mathieu.
  3. It is a little strange to me how much different Gutey has operated than Ted. With Ted, this feels like a no-brainer. Wonder if Gutey will become a little less aggressive as time moves on. He was hired by Wolf but learned under TT. So far, he's been much more Wolf than Thompson. https://www.nfl.com/news/seven-round-2021-nfl-mock-draft-round-1-broncos-bears-trade-up-for-qbs
  4. I don't know, this team is as close to being one player away as any Packers team in recent memory. They bring back 21 of 22 starters, plus young guys pushing for time. They'll also be adding multiple players if they trade up or not. My only guess with regard to the Packers...they'll pick someone nobody guesses they'd pick. Of Gutey's first round picks, I don't think anyone thought they'd take Gary, Savage or Love. People talked about Love, but I don't think anyone actually thought they'd pick him. Alexander was the closest we've come, but I think just as many people guessed we'd take Jackson in the 1st round that year as Alexander. Even past the first round, the Packers have been extremely unpredictable. They traded up for Jenkins. I hated that trade, moving up for a guard early in the 2nd round. But it was a great pick in retrospect. AJ Dillon when last year was supposed to be the year they picked a WR'er. Deguara in the 3rd last year. I just hope they address weaknesses in this draft. I'll take a guy who's more ready this year(Mayfield for example) as opposed to someone who may have big upside and could help out more in the future like say Kwity Paye. Just give the Packers and Rodgers the best chances while the window is still open as it appears to be closing pretty quickly.
  5. Sure...and I also don't think anyone who's been hard on him(at least that I've seen) has gone after him personally. Just pointing out that he's struggled and maybe could use some time to get straightened out. That's probably even more true now knowing that he's dealing with personal issues aside from professional struggles.
  6. Orlando Brown to KC for a 1st, 3rd and 4th. Man...KC is not playing around. They're not going to play it conservatively with their young stud QB. They go out and trade for a 25-year-old LT who didn't allow a QB hit or sack last season and is a great run blocker as well.
  7. I think you're really underestimating NFL players level of preparation, their intelligence. Particularly the offensive linemen. If you line up in the box, they're going to try to account for you if your number is 52 or 25. There's a reason Brady's pretty much the only person that has a problem with this.
  8. I can only hope. I'm not even a little qualified to answer that...BUT, I have torn an ACL and came back just as strong as I was before, so as a fan, I wouldn't write a guy off because of a couple lower leg injuries. But there are so many more unknowns with so many guys taking a year off. So I'm just looking at it as the type of athlete he is, the fit he'd be with the Packers, the guy who goes into motion and gets the ball at or near the LOS early in his career while he develops as a WR'er. And then without the injuries, he'd almost certainly be gone before the Packers picked.
  9. Yeah, I suppose this really isn't on-topic. Helluva first quarter tonight! Another big game vs Philly on Saturday. Close the gap to 1.5 games. Getting the top seed may be more important this year than it was the last two.
  10. I did the same thing about 7-8 years ago. Jumped into a Black Chevy Malibu and it didn't dawn on me that the seats were different, clothe or that the seat was too far up...or that I kept trying to start my car...probably with a dumb look on my face, holding the key fob up and repeatedly pushing the putting. This guy come out and raps on the window and just kinda nods to his left. There was big van parked between my car and his. Luckily he just kinda laughed as I got out. I also knew a guy I went to HS with. About 3-4 years out of HS, he was living in these duplexes across from a Bar. They were all pretty similar, but this idiot was so drunk, he went into the wrong house, took his pants, shirt off and then flopped down on a bed...that two people were sleeping on. He woke up about 20 minutes later with a flashlight in his eyes. Pretty lucky he didn't get shot. By the occupants or the Police. People have certainly been shot for left. They did have a kid in the house. I wonder what woulda happened had he gone to sleep in that room? Likely a lifetime of having to notify your neighbors you're moving in.
  11. Wendle seems to be their primary 3rd basemen, and the two of them were the 4th and 5th most valuable players on the Rays last year using WAR and are getting plenty of playing time right now. So a team coming off a WS loss, looking to compete again...seems unlikely that either would be cheap.
  12. I don't know, I could be convinced of either side. Kids do dumb things...you're still pretty much a kid when you're 18-20(the age of most top prospects). So I could excuse most of the dumb things they do. The steeling a laptop by Cam or whatever. I'd probably have a guy like Tyreke Hill or Joe Mixon off my board, but even then, I don't know the details and I could see how a GM or a coach could be convinced that a kid has genuine remorse and that one mistake by an 18-year-old shouldn't be the end. And with regard to Smith...does he even go down as a miss for the 49'ers in their book? 35.5 sacks in his first 32 games, two deep playoff runs including a SB. 45 sacks his first 3 years and then he starts getting into trouble. So do they look at it as a guy who ruined his career and cost himself every chance to make generational money for his family, or is it just, "well, the years we did get were worth it." As long as guys have freak talent as he did, teams will be willing to take a risk on them. And I don't even remember Smith being a guy with problems coming into the NFL. So it's no wonder you hear some of the ridiculous questions they ask. Like the one front office that asked a player about what it was like growing up with his mother being a sex worker. I guess that's meant to see how emotional the player gets, but...it just all feels so flawed and pointless. It feels like they treat them like race cars. They're not meant to make it past the race, they just need to get them through it. Feels like they could probably be a bit more proactive, but I don't know. They're also their employer, not their parent.
  13. Damn...you read those comments? Some pretty hateful stuff in there. People seem to be assuming he was SO drunk he couldn't even recognize his vehicle and blaming him for being in now TWO parking lot incidents. Well, he did nothing wrong in the first and I don't know what happened here other than he seemed to violate Covid protocol and got beat up. But pretty easy to see how someone could make the mistake of getting into the wrong van if it's a party van or just not your vehicle.
  14. Definitely. Now is Bud going to give him a chance to play? He seems loathe playing young guys, especially bigs if he can help it at all.
  15. That's alot of guys for at least one of them to not slide down to 29. It happens every year where players slide down further in the draft than they should (like Rodgers). Then again I'm not a draft expert either. That could be Farley this year. It seems unlikely as he was considered the top CB in this class, but as you pointed out, guys fall every year. His back surgery could be enough to scare teams away. At least in the top 10-15 and that's how slides start.
  16. From what I read the proposal was Love+4th rounder for #15 overall. No #29 involved. If #29 had to go back that would make me a no as well. I misunderstood as well. I jumped from the original trade to you answering "would you do it," and skipped over the Packer's 1st being taken out. A Packers draft with Darrisaw and Newsome in the first and then Rondale Moore in the 2nd. One can dream.
  17. I think I'd do it as well...but it's probably not a smart trade. Edit-I just saw the question you're responding to was JUST for Love+4th for 15. That's kinda a no-brainer. I thought this was still Love, 29+4th for NE's 1st. I'd do both, but Love and a 4th for the 15th pick would make it a lot-lot easier to make that decision. But as a fan who's so sick of losing, 15 gives you a better shot at finding an immediate starter, and from a personal standpoint, it moves you up to a spot where you're still capable of making another trade and moving up to get Sewell. A guy I think will be a dominant HOF caliber LT for a long time. It's pretty fantastical and obviously not something the Packers are likely to do(or they'd have converted Rodgers roster bonuses at the very least this off-season). But it's an interesting scenario.
  18. Love has one of those weird contracts where his dead cap if TRADED is different than if he's released. If he's traded, it's only like $2m extra in cap for 2021. It's just because the salaries are guaranteed. I'm pretty sure that's how it is with just about all rookie deals since the rookie contract scale. The #26 pick will probably get roughly the same contract next year. It was a little surprising to find that they're doing this a bit more often with these extensions like with Goff, but that's another topic.
  19. I mean...could be CTE! Seriously though, this just makes me sad. The guy had legitimate HOF talent...and whatever happened, however his brain works, however he was raised, he just can't get out of his own way. Nearly choked someone to death. Choked them until they passed out.
  20. Really wish there were some updates on what guys looked like. Is Small maintaining that uptick in velocity, how's Turang hitting. Really looking forward to the start of the season for these guys.
  21. And doing it sooner, rather than later, could be the difference maker for a dominant rotation versus an above average one. A dominant rotation can put the Brewers in position to win the World Series. We have these guys locked up as is for the next several seasons. At what point does it stop being worth it to extend them? I get it's a crazy new thing, the Brewers developing TOR arms, but...they'll need to find a way to keep doing that every so often. I would love to see them lock them both up with a couple of team options, but I don't understand why either would. Especially at this point. Maybe Burnes after last year, but at this point, I'm guessing he's feeling more and more confident betting on himself. I'll just enjoy watching them the next 4 years and hope the Brewers can keep bringing arms along during that time. Ashby and Small being next up with Kelly hopefully following.
  22. Raven Greene...really thought he was going to be a difference maker. Looked like he could be if he could have just stayed on the field. Bulked up in the hopes of being able to hold up physically...oh well. On top of what's a REALLY interesting and probably as accurate of a 7 round mock as you can do at this point, I'd like to throw in two Noles. 1-Marvin Wilson...he appears to be dropping and could be available in the 3rd round. May not look like a stud as a pass rusher, but a plug and play guy who could help. 2-Hamsah Nasirildeen A 6-4 safety who plays in the box and has also played some outside LB'er. A lot of upside and could really help us out. They just happen to be Florida State guys. And then a mid-round pick who I think has a lot of upside is Spencer Brown. A 10 RAS score, a freak that appears to have been made in a lab...but played at a small school and there are some questions, so he could end up being a 2nd or 3rd round pick. The one thing that would really surprise me...the Packers walking away with 10 players from this draft. I would guess they end up drafting closer to 22-25 in the 1st...presumably if someone like Darrisaw or Newsome falls to that range). Gutey has traded up in order to pick every player he's drafted in the 1st round. If he has targeted someone in the 1st, I don't think he's going to wait and hope he falls. He's shown he doesn't like doing that. And then I'll guess he trades up somewhere in the 3rd, maybe up into the top of the 4th. Not that you can really project that on a mock draft. But what this mock does do, it hits on pretty much all the Packers trends, it has them addressing their primary needs(OT, CB, DL) and has them putting an emphasis on edge rushers a year ahead of time and long, athletic perimeter defenders.
  23. Yes, they did. I saw a picture of it. It’s painted on the wall near the press boxes, I believe. Someone who has actually been to the stadium can confirm. I mean...they did make the playoffs. I remember time when we were celebrating an 81-81 season...but slightly disappointed we didn't end our run of seasons below .500. Now we're questioning why we're nothing to recognize a playoff season! And I get that, and I love how the expectations of this team have shifted!
  24. Yikes. Maybe send him a video of piazza getting hit in the face with a ball and knocked unconscious, and ask if he'd like that to be him. I mean, eye for an eye right so now we should throw at him? Or, some ways of previously doing things were just really stupid...and we are evolving. The whole idea here is to take administrative measures to minimize injury. It's the same reason the nfl started cracking down on big hits on wr over the middle. The goal is to change behavior for sake of player safety... What did he say? Looks like he took it down now.
