  1. in Arizona, how do I know if my game is on MLB channel?
  2. just curious, but how has Zarraga's experiment with switch-hitting gone? Last year he made the conversion, and Milb.com still lists him as a switch hitter.
  3. in honor of Arizona having AIMS testing this week for students: I hope that: Taylor Jungman is to TheCrew07 as Ryan Braun was to Toby
  4. I remember getting excited when one of Neugy, Jones, Mieses, Poe, Gold, or Stewart would get to start. When Rogers and Scarpetta return, this will be the most exciting rotation we've had
  5. I wonder why Wooten's still in AA. He dominated there last year. He really should be in AAA.
  6. glad to see Evan Anundsen back on the mound. He was one of our best pitching prospects a few years back
  7. Id love to see Lamontagne appear this year. From awesome closer to great starter...would be great to get him back on track
  8. I guess I didn't consider last year a comeback for Arnett. Yes, he'd had shoulder troubles, but his ERA was awful and his WHIP uninspiring.
  9. Interesting to see Arnett mentioned. Are they hoping other first rounders can take the pressure off him? I was sort of expecting him to get released. It's been a while since we've had a first rounder flame out because of lack of performance...normally its injury-related. Here's hoping he can find some magic
  10. I hope Anundsen is returning to a starting role. He was fun to follow a few years ago, and had a very nice season last year.
  11. I really want a deal to get done with Greinke so that we can start to figure out the rest of the rotation. Marcum wants to stay, but we don't know what kind of deal he is willing to take. Wolf--despite what many fans think--has been very good. And we should have 1 of Peralta, Rogers, Scarpetta, Fiers, and Rivas ready in 2013 for a rotation spot.
  12. Green should be in AAA. He's had one good year in the last 3. I'm not faulting him, I'm just saying that as a fact, even though it's likely because of injury. Having a young 3b/2b/1b in AAA getting regular at bats is the perfect insurance we have. Conrad is a true bench player, and easily replaceable. The Brewers got the roster right based on the personnel. I just hope they get it right and ease Corey back by putting him on the DL. I'd rather have Aoki/Gomez for 10 games than Hart at 80%.
  13. He and Gindl were my favorite OF's to follow. I liked Komatsu for his OBP and left-handedness. I hope he has a good career, but struggles vs the Brewers
  14. Prince was supposed to be very good defensively. I was hoping he'd find his rookie ball success now that he's out of the FSL. Unfortunately, he's no longer our best SS prospect, and thus a lot less sexy
  15. I was so excited when Marquette made that mini-run, but the non-call on the Flagrant really iced the game. All tourney long they've been going to the monitor and calling those plays as Flagrants. Heck, by not calling anything on Fla, and by calling a foul on Marquette, the result was something between a 2 and 7 point swing. Still, Marquette had a good opportunity. Fla didn't play well, but MU didn't control the tempo and couldn't buy a bucket. Good news is that the future is bright. Cadougan is getting better, Otule should return with Gardner and Wilson upfront. Mayo has great potential and is a legit scorer. Blue is an early pick for breakout player. He handles the ball well and is a good defender and FT shooter, but needs to learn to hit open shots. I'm hoping for him to progress like McNeal did before his Jr year. Throw in that Anderson and Jones were thought highly of in HS, and Marquette has the makings of another very good season next year.
  16. would be a great move for me...and all the midwest retirees. Lots of midwest folks are "snowbirds" in the Westworld area. I'd have the Brewers about 15 minutes from where I live, and 5 minutes from where I work.
  17. Kade Johnson, Cristian Guerrero (wasn't he supposed to have like 300 homers in MLB by now?), Bill Scott, Cody Adams, etc
  18. I've never even considered Scooter's power. I've always doubted his OBP and the his defense (based on reports). As for Salome, that's too bad. If even Seattle has no room for him, then he's likely done
  19. I did this last year and it was great. Much cheaper and the best part is because I spend my summers in Montana (nice being a teacher), I can take my MLB package with me, whereas with DirecTv I'd have to pay in each place
  20. Paul, I guess I don't get the gripe. Marquette has two project big guys that have rounded into good college players. Otule had bad luck. Gardner has the best post moves I've seen at MU since either Robert Jackson or perhaps even Damon Key. He's lost a lot of weight, has great moves, and is only getting better. The only problem is that he needs to get through this knee injury. I'd love to see him get 5 minutes tomorrow and push it to 10-15 minutes by the Big East Tourney. Having him in the NCAA tourney really allows Marquette to adapt and be more versatile
  21. at first I worried because Buzz was just the assistant. I knew I was glad when Crean left, because most of us had become convinced that he could only recruit. His coaching and in-game strategy was piss poor. The original enthusiasm we had because he had such a huge play-book wore off when we realized he loved trusting 1-2 guys on offense to shine while the others stagnated. Buzz won many of us over after his first few games when he took our athletic team (James, McNeal, Matthews, Hayward, etc) and let them run. MU became explosive like a true Big East or Big 12 team. Wes Matthews went from role player to yet another potent weapon with Buzz's offense. Crean coached like everything was the Big 10, focusing on defense and quality possessions. Buzz took the governor off and let them play like an elite offense. I'm glad we have Buzz, and I hope Marquette can keep him around. If I were a talented midwest recruit I'd dream of playing for him.
  22. Cheezewizhed, I'm pretty sure a 1-7 pitch for a righty would be a screwball. I
  23. I also remember an MLB ad campaign with Prince and Cecil in a diner eating fried chicken, and I remember thinking how good that looked. Both had big smiles, so it made me hungry
  24. That's a tough one. I think people here are mostly jumping on Cecil, but we know Prince has also not been very grown up with things. Money is huge, and a lot of trust was destroyed. But his father had a gambling problem and needs help and support, not bitterness and hatred.
  25. Laporta has the potential to be a Pat Burrell-type bat. He could break out in Milwaukee just as Sexson did. Green has been repeatedly called a utility-type player despite how high many of us are on him. So it'd be a no brainer of a trade.
