  1. Brewers, Packers, Marquette/Santa Clara What is hockey, and what is the NBA?
  2. 1992casey, it's fine most times, but sometimes I'll be having it rest in my lap--or I'll be trying to hold it in one hand--and it will slide or just feel a bit awkward. It's not something that's a major worry...I definitely am happy with the ipad 2
  3. Last I'd heard, the Fire was the #1 most returned item this holiday season. Lots were disappointed by its limitations. I'm still an Ipad fan, although I don't like the edges on my Ipad 2. I wish they were more square
  4. It's 7:32 MST and I'm on my couch with my fiancee, watching Househunters, while browsing Brewerfan.net. Can you say lame?
  5. Perhaps Pixar is going to coordinate its next film with the Brewers' post-hit celebrations.
  6. Who is Terez Owens and who is Perez Hilton? Give me a report from Rosenthal and I'll be impressed.
  7. Most guys Hart's size are slow. So perhaps taller players start losing their speed earlier. It started 2-3 years ago with poor OF play, but I still think that's primarily because he refuses to wear contacts or glasses, or get lasix surgery.
  8. 16 of 33 games is a foolish stat. We saw this argument when people said Wayne Franklin was a good pitcher because the Brewers won games he started. By my count, 6 of those Brewers' losses in Marcum starts were actually quality starts. He could very easily have had 22 of 33 games with wins. I would like to have basic discussions about an extension with him, but I would also make the contract contingent upon the Brewers seeing proof of Marcum's arm health. He had a bum shoulder last spring, and pitched in Sept/Oct like someone that was either tired or hurt.
  9. Morgan is likely among the top 5-6 Centerfielders in baseball in terms of defense. Gomez just happens to be in the top 3. But the significant upgrade of Morgan over Gomez in terms of defense--at least against righties--means Morgan should get the bulk of the playing time (ie, a platoon). When Gomez has a career year because he is being used properly, we can trade him and let some other team regret the trade.
  10. that's interesting Nate, because I consider Gamel (not a prospect technically anymore), Green, and Gindl to be more polished than Gennett. I think I might be overvaluing Scarpetta and Rogers a bit, but they've both been fun (and frustrating) to follow the past few seasons
  11. speaking of the Narron's, any chance they could convince Josh Hamilton that God wants him in Milwaukee?
  12. Age really shouldn't be a factor, Hate Those Rodents. Plus, he's going to be 25 for the entire 2012 season. It's not as if he's 26 going on 27, as I assumed based on your post until I looked it up. I really value Green and--at this point--would like to see him remain in AAA (and under team control for 6 more seasons rather than 5 more seasons).
  13. 1) Wily Peralta 2) Tyler Thornburg 3) Taylor Green 4) Caleb Gindl 5) Mark Rogers 6) Taylor Jungman 7) Jed Bradley 8) Cody Scarpetta 9) Brooks Hall 10) Kentrail Davis 11) Yadiel Rivera 12) Jorge Lopez 13) Nick Bucci 14) Mike Fiers 15) Scooter Gennett 16) Brock Kjeldgaard 17) Orlando Arcia 18) D'Vontrey Richardson 19) Max Walla 20) Ruben Ozuna 21) Amaury Rivas 22) Logan Schafer 23) Nelson 24) Miller 25) Wooten 26) Arnett
  14. So our 4th OF is Aoki, our UT is Izturis, backup catcher is Kotteras. Gomez is the platoon in CF and the 5th OF/PR. That likely leaves one bench spot. I'd love a 1b/3b type. The Russell Branyan mention is great. He's basically a slightly lesser version of Pena, except he can play 3b and OF, and he'll cost 1/10th of the price.
  15. This is an example of why the Brewers need to focus on drafting/signing and developing competent shortstops. If one can't hit, then he can be a capable backup defensively.
  16. We have plenty of ways to save money, as JohnBriggs said. For instance, we don't need two overpaid CF's, a declining RF (not likely yet, but will decline eventually), and 4 well paid pitchers
  17. The first year or two, I led a system where we did a daily poll and people chose from players available. For the last 6 or so years, Colby and others have led it with a system that gives points for peoples' rankings. That can be very interesting. I can't remember who led it following the Overbay trade, but I remember I received a PM asking me if I really meant to leave Zack Jackson off the list. But I'm all for a user compiled Power 50...always nice to see.
  18. Bernman23, why do you think Hart will run better? He admits he's slower, he looks slower, and his build is not the type where you work out more and suddenly gain speed. 6'6" players would probably not age gracefully, especially in the speed dept.
  19. I think his side basically screwed up. They were trying to use the Brewers as leverage to get the Phillies to go 4 years, and instead they drove the Brewers to go to plan B, thus leaving the Phillies to get him for less of a commitment
  20. When SafeCo was built, they talked about RF being built as friendly for Griffey...perhaps that might attract Prince.
  21. we may have high bid. They just may not have accepted the bid yet
  22. Hart is not a problem offensively, but many of us do get extremely upset with his horrible defense. He has negative value as an outfielder. His arm is underrated, but his range is awful, his jumps are awful, and it appears he struggles to track balls (often losing balls in lights) likely due to his refusal to wear prescription eyewear. If we could get slightly less offensive production and significantly better defense--at a fraction of the cost--then it would make sense to at least consider moving Hart in the right deal
  23. I'd happily take Scott, but he'd only be guaranteed maybe 250 AB's so I doubt he'd come here. Those calling him racist might want to stop acting elitest. People have different views that are better discussed on the political forum. He's probably a good guy with some distorted views... Why throw around a serious accusation? I hate athletes, entertainers, and other celebrities expressing their views in a negative light, but unfortunately it's a common thing these days.
