  1. paul, he will be a Type A free agent, no questions asked
  2. I say the trio of Gumby, Molly, and the Kid all throw out 1st pitches
  3. I'd only keep Hart in RF if he loses 20 lbs this offseason AND agrees to start wearing prescription eyewear. His not wearing contacts is quite possibly why he cannot track balls or get good jumps
  4. Besides her fidgeting with her chest, I'm not sure what the fuss is about. She looks like a 40-something. Not terrible, but hundreds of better looking women at each game.
  5. Logan, Braun doesn't make great plays but he gets to nearly everything he should and has a good arm
  6. Greinke threw a great game tonight. 3 official errors and at least three unofficial ones
  7. Gene, there is no game Saturday. Greinke would go tomorrow on regular rest and he'll win. Then Sunday would be either Marcum, Gallardo (on short rest), or a Narvy-Estrada-Saito-KRod-Axford plan.
  8. I'd consider Gamel or Gindl in RF. I think one thing that hurts Hart--besides his lack of range--is that he doesn't wear his contacts. It explains why he gets bad jumps on balls, mis-reads them off the bat, and often loses balls in the light
  9. paul, I get your point. I'll take the 4 draft picks for Fielder and K-Rod though.. We'd get a stud at SS, lose 1 pick, gain four others, and be in ok shape.
  10. Some reports last month showed that informal polls say that up to 50% of Sprint users will likely consider switching to an iphone if one becomes available. Sprint is betting on that data being true.
  11. I can dream, so 5 years $110 million. Greinke 5 years $85 million. Reyes or Furcal to play SS. Gamel at 1b. It would put payroll probably at $100-110 million, but if we landed CC we'd sell our 3 millionth ticket by mid-May.
  12. I hope Mat's doing well with all of this...a World Series ring would probably make him feel better Still, I hope Gamel at 1b, Green at 3b, McGehee at both, Hairston either at utility or SS
  13. I will be there in section 112 with 3 other Brewers fans. Should be a good time, as Dbacks fans are always in shock when the Brewers are in town about how loud and supportive the Brewers fans are.
  14. fondy, apparently you never watched the pitch-tracker on the screen. It consistently showed pitches catching the corners and edges being called balls. It was definitely a hitter's strikezone both days, except in Yo's 8th inning.
  15. Pretty funny stuff. A Dbacks fan buddy kept texting about how the ump's zone was generous with Yo and tight with Kennedy. I pointed out that the ump had a fair but tight zone all day with only 2-3 pitches called strikes that were off the plate.
  16. Nader, I'm as diehard as we get, but I would be heartbroken if we traded for Loney. I worked around him in the AFL and he was the biggest jerk I was around, outside of Keith Bucktrot. Give me 1000 Elijah "Anger Management" Dukes before you give me 1 James Loney. We have a fun team that plays hard...we don't need Loney, unless its for depth in AAA.
  17. i haven't looked this year, but the AFL players used to report around today. Usually the setup of clubhouses began the week before.
  18. mlbtraderumors reports that Ethier may be made available this offseason. How about adding Ethier for RF, Hart to 1b, McGehee at 3b (or traded), Green in AAA just one call away, and Gamel on the bench starting several days per week?
  19. when at MUHS, we always wondered about a Catholic or Jesuit league. The problem with adding Gonzaga is that the WCC is already a Catholic/Jesuit conference. Still, lots of possible schools.
  20. Brandon Phillips since he rarely makes mistakes against us
  21. ....by a foul ball. So the only other time I can ever remember seeing this was in the '08 playoff game when Counsell made a diving catch. I remember that one shocked me because I'd never seen it in the years of Miller Park, yet the media seemingly ignored it. Are these the only two times the roof has been struck in play?
  22. Cameron would be a nice 4th OF. I'd consider bringing him in as a bat these last two weeks, especially since he has some pop and obp skills...we need them
  23. It depends on how much he and his wife are looking for. If they like Milwaukee (as that article suggested) something between 5 years $75 million and 6 years $105 million. If he wants to test the marketplace, he could get more
  24. no, that's a myth that people seem to keep bringing up. The Brewers have the ability to offer arbitration. And technically we didn't really buy out his option...we re-negotiated his contract. We'll offer arby, and he will not take it. He'll get a 3 year deal to close somewhere.
  25. Younggeezy, Anundsen is a guy a smart GM (Jack Z) would monitor. Might not throw 95 like Rosario, but he sure gets the grounders and might be easy to stash in the bullpen for a season. I'd like him protected, as we don't have many sinkerballers. But I bet it's 50-50 that he gets protected. It would depend on how his velocity was this year
