I'm not anointing Big Brock as anything yet. I was just trying to point out that based on his brief career he's shown more power potential than anyone in the system not named Katin. He now has 66 career homers (and 94 doubles), a Career OPS over .800, a career OBP in the .340 range. If he were 23 in A+, people would be saying "he's a fringe prospect that could be in for a breakout year if he learns to hit roughly .275 and strikeout at less Brandon Wood-like paces." I guess I'm viewing his age as 25, but I'm subtracting a few years since a) he's Canadian and likely hasn't played as much as American counterparts and b) he pitched for 2 seasons (I think) before converting to becoming a hitter. I've enjoyed following him in the link report the last few years as one of our organization's few legit power sources. Do I think he'll be a big leaguer? probably not. But if he figures things out like some other raw sluggers have an an advanced age (Nelson Cruz, Jose Bautista, Jose Guillen to name a few recently) and starts to turn 10-20% of his strikeouts into balls put in play, he could suddenly jump onto the radar of a lot of people. Morris has done well for himself thus far (especially with SLG), but will need to make strides with his OBP before being promoted to AA.
