Reminds me of Justin Thompson walking off the mount after a gem for the Brewers' AAA club. -
Heether wouldn't be claimed by any team if he were DFA'd. He could be signed to a healthy AAA contract as insurance and wouldn't go elsewhere, as we're probably the only team that would look at him as a 25th man. Although if we still had Rottino, he'd have already logged about 5 innings as a pitcher, caught, and pinch hit as a righty.

endaround, I'm just curious why all the negative comments on McGehee at 3b lately. He was known as a strong defender in the minors. Last year he was alright, especially given his bad knee. His knee still isn't 100% and won't be this year, yet from what I've seen he makes every play he can get to. Thus far this season he's been the infielder I've been happiest with defensively, since Prince and Weeks have been awful and Alcides has been very raw.

Remember, he was drafted twice by the Brewers as a catcher, so he can swing it a little

Cirillo pitched in college and was told that he would never make it in the minors as a HITTER, therefore he should tell teams he wanted to pitch

Why did Matt Cline miss 2009? He's kind of come out of nowhere this year. Kentrail Davis sure has a nice OBP given that he skipped rookie ball and A-ball. And Zarraga with a nice first 100 AB's in A+

TheCrew07, isn't 88 actually pretty good for a lefty? And endaround, what injury did he have? I can't think of anything.

TheCrew07, it's Taylor Swift. Gotta agree though. In the AFL we had lots of that alt rock that's now mainstream rock/pop (since plain old Rock hasn't existed in 10+years), but also lots of pop country. Since most American ballplayers are country bumpkins, there's lots of country.

The problem is that McClung just isn't good. Wouldn't it be a lateral move by having him replace Vargas? Then again, at least McClung has velocity

What's frustrating to me is that today is now an Estrada/Parra/bullpen day. We could have called up Cappy and prevented the need to have a bullpen day. We need a starter, and we called up a reliever capable of going 2 innings.

TheCrew07, you do know that if someone is on the 60-day DL, it gives the team an extra roster exemption on the 40-man roster, right?

They can put Gamel on 60 DL on rehab assignment for 2 weeks to buy us time, and then activate him and option him to AAA. It would buy us two weeks to make a 40-man roster decision

Just realized that this is the first time I ever remember Macha trying to win the game rather than just assuming things even out over 162 games. Yost tended to worry about each battle (game), whereas Macha normally doesn't care about the battles, only the war (season)
