  1. I'm in 2nd, and don't have a closer...this is rough. Don't know how long I can dominate offensively
  2. He didn't pitch all that well, but he still only gave up 3 runs in 6 innings and kept us in the game. I thought he threw very well. He pounded the strike zone, gave up almost all singles, no walks, and had good command. Heck, the gun showed him hitting 93-94 a few times even
  3. I guess he ran into the wall making a catch. Hendrickson hit the wall in the 7th. Two walks, then got an out, and Simpson allowed at least one inherited runner to score. Too bad, the walks hurt, and they probably didn't have anyone ready in the pen. Some offense would have helped. edit...I see they got Li'l Ben off the hook, game tied at 6
  4. 9 minutes til we can all forget about yesterdays debacle. you have a long memory. I forgot about it before going to sleep
  5. I enjoy reading that Hall needs to be playing over Koskie. I guess these people are not looking at Koskie's stats so far. Yes Bill Hall has done fine, but hasn't Koskie earned the chance to continue playing against most righties, until he proves otherwise?
  6. also, tune in to the gametracker for Nashville. Hendrickson has allowed 1 walk through 3, on a mere 38 pitches. That means that in 14 innings, he's allowed 7 walks, 2 hits, and 9 K's. Oh yeah, and his ERA is unchanged today...still 0.00 edit, 54 pitches through 4 IP. make that 11 K's on the season in 15 IP
  7. interesting that with no Gwynn in there, Krynzel is still batting 2nd. I guess this shows that the organization likes Gwynn as a potential leadoff man, and Krynzel is now something more of a 2, 6, 7, or 8 hitter.
  8. Bush should do alright tonight. He gets ahead of hitters, so the only real guy to worry about for homers is Biggio. The others are selective, and with 2 strikes might take less of a hack. Hopefully Prince, Rickie, and JJ bang the ball all over the park. Lots of room for some Rickie Weeks triples
  9. Al, it's because the only guys I really get excited about on that squad are really Heether, Dillard, Moss, Villanueva, and Anderson. Palmisano has talent, but hasn't produced since Helena, so I'm not expecting much. I may have missed a name or two, but it's not like years past
  10. I have to admit, I'm probably overly excited about the lines Krynzel keeps putting up. I really hope he sustains it and limits the extended slumps this year. Katuluu, I've always been a huge fan of Krynzel. My critiques have centered on seeing him utilize about 4 different stances each time I saw him. Sometimes in a more traditional speed stance with a crouch, others more upright like Counsell. I'm really excited about him this year, especially his stolen base success rate. However, I think we need to remember that at this time last year everyone was jumping on the Krynzel bandwagon after a strong spring training and an outstanding month of April. If he's still around .300 or better on June 1st, then I'll be getting all giddy. I'm a fan of Gwynn too. Heck, I like Brady. But there would be the possibility that in 2007 we could move Clark and give his salary to someone else.
  11. good to see a run in. Nice job JJ and Gabe. I saw Bannister's last two starts on tv, and this is different. In the others, he threw strikes at a similar rate to Bush. Not this Ohka-like control
  12. good to see the K. Didn't need Ben hitting into a GiTP
  13. agreed. After having virtually no spring training in '05, then going on the DL for several weeks in May, his curve really didn't look this good until August last year. Last year he was really just a 1 pitch guy for much of the early going. Good to see the good curve from day 1
  14. ah, not a punishment. Ricke had a good game. Remember, the goal is to get him 135-140 games, so Hall and Cirillo can log the other starts at 2b. If we didn't have depth, we'd need Weeks for 162 starts. But to properly utilize our depth, we also have the added benefit of helping keep Weeks, Hardy, and Koskie fresh. I like Gross leadoff. signed him to my fantasy squad for today's game once I saw the lineup
  15. Mass, was there anyone giving up on a team after a week? Really Al, I'll say that when I look up boxscores, Huntsville is the 5th team I'll look at this year. Heck, I tend to look at Tucson's before Huntsville
  16. 55,800 in attendance at Shea.... that would be nice at Miller it'd be a little cramped, and the Crew might get fined for a fire hazard, seeing as capacity is around 10k less than that. My buddy is at the game today while visiting NYC. That means they are now 5-0 in games he's been at. Oh yeah, he's going tomorrow, too.
  17. De La Rosa looks to be coming in next inning. Gee, people bashed Yost for not using him when he was terrible last year, yet they don't praise him for using the hot hand this year? The Yost haters will probably claim he's overworked now.
  18. when did Weeks have an error? I don't remember seeing him with an error.
  19. wow, didn't know Prince had that strong of an arm. Shoot, he's a better fielder than Lyle (no pun intended), likely a better hitter, and if he has a good arm, then there's really nothing Lyle does better.
  20. come on guys, that was clearly a hit and run. If JJ even fouls off the 84-mph mid-thigh heater over the heart of the plate, then Brady's still on base. It's unfortunate, but JJ probably swung right through the best pitch any Brewer will see all game long.
  21. Wow, interesting start to the game. Clark with a clean single. The best pitch Hardy saw came on the hit and run, and Mr. Contact swung right through the belt-high 84 mph heater, resulting in Clark being thrown out by about 2 steps. Then Hardy called out on a hanging curve caught above the belt, meaning it likely crossed the plate at the letters. And finally, Jenkins with quite possibly his hardest hit ball of the year, a smash that ate up Delgado, only to have a fine defensive play result in Jenkins being out by 5 steps.
  22. sigh, maybe Lee will stop the crackhead with a cowbell with a homer I was thinking they need More cowbell
  23. oh boy. Sorry Geoff, these darn tough lefties.
