  1. Not much more to the question outside of the subject title. I can’t for the life of me remember an amazing superstar like Christian Yelich, in the prime of his career, look as lost as he currently does now. Does anyone else remember another superstar in their prime going through a slump as bad as this one? Is it time to be concerned this, or something close to it, is the new Yelich?

  3. Counsell has had as bad a season as the hitters. He’s in a slump in 2020 as well.
  4. I think this sums up my feeling on the subject. Yes they traded a ton to get Yelich and others leading to a worse farm system and time is needed to build it back up. As I’ve indicated elsewhere, this offseason seemed like he was going the Ted Thompson route and tried to be the smartest man in the room with offseason signings of below average players and pass them off as legit players. Should we be more worried about coaching though with Garcia and Narvaez’s drastic decline from what they were in previous seasons, as well as Davies and Grisham’s emergence in San Diego.
  5. I’m 38. My friends and I talk about this all the time. The game has gone 3TO and its not enjoyable.
  6. You have to do this move though. On the free market he was getting $30m a year like Trout, Betts and Machado. I don’t regret that one at all. The garbage Stearns surrounded him with on the other hand....
  7. I feel like Stearns (this year) is to Counsell what Thompson was to McCarthy circa 2011-2016.
  8. I know this is mostly a vent thread so....how does Andy Haines not see Omar Narvaez uppercutting everything and not fix it?
  9. Lindblom getting destroyed by tone of the worst lineups in the game. An awful long term signing. I hope Stearns has learned his lesson and doesn’t get stupid and use the option on all these one year contracts.
  10. I think my least favorite has been trading a competitive balance pick for Alex Claudio. Is Lindblom a 3 year guaranteed deal?
  11. Amen. And I think most of us knew this going into the season.
  12. This team is pretty awful. Lindblom is like watching a worse version of Doug Davis.
  13. Serious question...Has one Stearns move panned out from last off-season?
  14. Can we please end the Smoak experience? DFA please
  15. I would love to play the Twins and White Sox against each other. White Sox deal inclusive of some combination of Vaughn, Kopech, Madrigal, Dunning Twins deal inclusive of some combination of Lewis, Kiriloff/Larnach, Balazovic Whichever team is willing to offer the most and the best part for them is it doesn't impact their current roster (outside of Madrigal).
  16. Put another way, if the Padres were the Brewers and we already had Paddack, Clevinger and Lamet at the top of the rotation, hadn't been to the playoffs in 13 years and had a shot at the best reliever in baseball, I have to believe we as fans would understand parting with a Gore level prospect for Hader. Especially given the years of control still in place with Hader.
  17. Gore, Abrams, and Campusano are my dream gets, as far-fetched as that may sound. Draw up the paperwork and hold the press conference. Hader and whatever else it takes (within reason) for this.
  18. I know the Dodgers said no to Lux in a package for Lindor. However, as I asked in the Hader thread, if the Dodgers said Hader straight up for Lux, does Stearns say yes? When was the last time there was a straight-up one-for-one star for prospect deal? I don't know if I can recall one. I honestly don't recall one either. I'm merely throwing it out there.
  19. I know the Dodgers said no to Lux in a package for Lindor. However, as I asked in the Hader thread, if the Dodgers said Hader straight up for Lux, does Stearns say yes?
  20. Apparently it's Naylor and Quantrill + to Indians. If you are David Stearns, would you do Hader for Gore straight up?
  21. By no means do I give away Hader, but man it just feels like now is the time. There are such significant long-term holes on offense (1B, 3B, C, CF, RF) that I just don’t see why holding onto Hader makes sense. Definitely don’t settle but I would think he has more value traded than with the Brewers as currently constructed.
  22. Padres make the most sense to me. With Rosenthal there now, they can use Hader in a multi-inning role or as closer. Gore is a must for me. A rotation fronted by Woodruff Burnes and Gore would be quite good.
  23. MacKenzie Gore has to headline that package, I would think. Absolutely. No Gore. No deal (unless they throw a ludicrous offer of other prospects). My preferred deal is Vaughn, Madrigal and Kopech deal from White Sox for Hader and whatever additional piece is needed to make it work. Vaughn becomes 1B of future, Madrigal 2B (with Hiura going to DH) and Kopech is a piece for the rotation.
  24. Not at all hot. But his offensive signings have been done for awhile and we are supposed to accept him as genius. Been a pretty atrocious offseason and that includes Yelich extension. There is no GM in baseball that wouldn't have ran to the table to sign Yelich to the extension he signed. Scuffling for 30 games in the wierdest season in MLB history isn't going to change that. Of course. My point is he surrounded him with players on offense that are done. Like TT did on Packers D with Rodgers in his prime. Thames and Moose would have cost exactly how much more than Smoak and Sogard?
