  1. I hope they're somewhat aggressive with these guys. I think both Klaw and Piliere said Jungmann could start in AA next year. Would be nice to have them on track to be rotation options in 2013.
  2. Forgot about Bradley he would have been my third choice at 15 after Gray and Barnes. His breaking ball supposedly needs a lot of work. On the plus side we didn't have any lefties of note, and if Bradley does develop a good breaking ball his ceiling might be higher than Jungmann.
  3. Either Gray or Barnes works for me. Cron is a reluctant 3rd choice.
  4. Please let the Marlins take Mahtook. I really don't want him.
  5. I'm ok with Jungmann. Mets might have nabbed him at 13. Apparently they're going Nimmo now. Hopefully we'll have our pick of Gray or Barnes at 15.
  6. I will temper my initial displeasure by conceding I will quickly talk myself into whomever we take. Two of Gray, Barnes Jungmann wouldn't be bad.
  7. Klaw says Stros go Springer. We have our choice of Gray or Jungmann
  8. Not a huge Anderson fan. Not liking where this is heading.
  9. Gray is probably the leading candidate at 12 now.
  10. I had really convinced myself he'd fall. Hope the Cubs pass on Baez.
  11. Damnit. I was wrong about that.
  12. Lindor getting past Diamondbacks helps. Astros are the only team left before 12 strongly connected to him.
  13. Yeah. Scared about Cubs and Baez. Props to Patrick who called Hultzen to Mariners a little while ago.
  14. Hey, everyone here knows you were on it first. It was actually pretty remarkable how Baez to the Brewers became the consensus shortly after your report.
  15. This was just posted at Bernie's Crew [uPDATE 1:11 PM] >> Received an email from a source who said the Brewers "covet" 3B/SS Javier Baez. He says the Brewers will absolutely grab him if available -- but SS Francisco Lindor could throw the draft board up in the air, if available.
  16. Kevin Goldstein projects Baez and Gray. Piliere thinks the Mets like Gray but if they pass, sounds like it could be realistic for Brewers. Toby beat me to it.
  17. Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to the handicap for the 15th pick.
  18. Klaw's final mock is up. Has Baez going 9 to the Cubs, Lindor to the Astros at 11 and gives us Jungmann at 12 and Gray at 15. He seems to be guessing at the Baez-Cubs connection. On the other hand, both him and Piliere seem convinced the Padres are taking Spangenburg at 10 which should may increase the likelihood of a player like Jed Bradley or Matt Barnes being available for the Brewers to consider. Toby, loved your draft handicap. One question: why do you have the odds so low on Jungmann?
  19. I'd expect the two first rounders to be #1 and 2 on the power 50 as soon as they sign, and the second round pick should be close behind them. Colby previously provided a good list of potential second round targets. Assuming the Brewers don't take an outfielder like Mahtook or Springer in round 1 but instead stick to the infielders and pitchers we've been discussing, I like some of the high school outfielders that could be available with their second round pick. My personal favorite would be Carl Thomore. There's also Greene, who you mentioned and who the Brewers have reportedly scouted heavily. If they're willing to spend Derek Fisher and Charlie Tilson might still be there as well.
  20. Piliere has an updated mock this morning. Baez and Guerrieri.
  21. Piliere just tweeted the following: "Sources telling me the Astros are trying to cut a pre-draft deal with Stanford lefty, Chris Reed at #11" If that happens, that's one less team the Brewers have to worry about taking Lindor, Bradley, Jungmann, Barnes, Guerrieri or whomever.
  22. One more mock from Kevin Goldstein at Baseball Prospectus. Has us taking Springer and Levi Michael. Easily my least favorite recent projection.
  23. BA's new projection mock (who they think will be picked) is up. Here's a link to the free version without analysis. http://ht.ly/59RxU Have the Brewers taking Baez at 12 and Guerrieri at 15. Lindor goes 17. Thanks for the write-up on Baez' workout Toby. That's great info and it appears the rest of the draft pundits are following your lead.
  24. New Klaw mock. Has the Brewers going with Jungmann and Baez. First time one of the major mocks has linked us with Baez. Suits me fine, I'm a big fan. He lists Springer, Gray and Guerrieri as other possibilities. Also mentions Mahtook, but has him going to the Cubs at 9. I've really soured on Mahtook lately and will be really happy if the Cubs save us from ourselves.
  25. Looks like Bucci finally decided to fall in line with the rest of the farm system. Peer pressure must've gotten to him. Nobody likes an overachiever.
