  1. Easy to cheer for guys like Willy and Wild Bill. They aren't old, and baseball isn't physically hard...PLAY everyday cuz it's fun... They get months off at a time to rest and recoup...
  2. Two snatch em back Ws against the AAA Southsiders....those would have been brutal losses but the Crew squeaks by. Huge wins come September.
  3. Treego has a lot of fuel for his word weaving in a Crochet vs Gasser matchup.
  4. Can we just trade Mitchell and Wiemer and Black and Myers and Dunn and maybe a Clark or Ashby for some combo of Crochet/Fedde/Kopech/Jimenez/Robert?
  5. Guessing it is Coun$ell's 0-fer-40 something streak in like 2010? or so?
  6. That baserunning/slide by Frelick was awesome.
  7. Ideally, I'd say we DFA Bauers and teach another lefty to play 1B (Yelich/Mitchell) or trade for Joey Votto... Hoskins should be back soon too. *I don't follow this closer*
  8. Getting it over with ASAP would be the best approach I would think. We can still shuttle other guys like Koenig/Hall/Herget/Bukauskas/etc.
  9. Exactly. Sure, in a vacuum this trade is still questionable, but one must understand the deal in the whole of an organizational philosophy of constantly churning talent at the correct time. Did we get lucky because OAK rally wanted Ruiz? Kind of...the more deals one makes to accumulate young talent the more likely it is that another franchise will be enamored with one of those talents and/or one of those talents will flourish into a perennial all-star. I know people hate the "bites at the apple" quote, but it is even more true of 21 year old prospects than it is of getting into the playoffs and hoping to get hot. Stockpile, stockpile, stockpile....
  10. A two month subscription cost me all of $0.00. And I was getting other offers like elsewhere. Lots of things are too expensive these days, but entertainment through a screen isn't one of them.
  11. Being consistently behind in counts has nothing to do with hitters. Sure, once behind in the count hitters can foul off pitches and make a guy work harder, but if a pitcher is making his pitches or the ump has a big zone...well good for them.
  12. Well, that's one way to put it. Paul Skenes perfect through 4 innings with 9 Ks.
  13. Wilken back within the month.
  14. "Enough with the rhymes already! And I mean it!"
  15. I happened to catch the end of the Cubs-Mets game the other day with my very motherly aging mother who is a big Brewer fan. The one the Cubs won after the ump AND replay blew the call at the plate in the ninth inning. Mom let out a happy victory exclamation when replay made their decision. I shook my head confusedly asking "You cheering for the Cubs?!?" "Yeah, Craig Counsell is on the Cubs," she replied. She just doesn't get it.
  16. At least they didn't make Rod Black do that for Tyler's first AB....I thought it interesting that he had a noticeable change in tone/voice when he did the pbp vs when casually answering questions from Sophia.
  17. Or...immediate impact. Literally every player in MLB was once a prospect. I get what you mean though...every average veteran MLB player was once a super-hyped prospect making his debut,
  18. Just release Bauers already. Give Tyler spot starts at first but mainly he can be the strong side of a DH platoon with Sanchez.
  19. Verlander is more likely then...for free+prospect?
