  1. Ahhh. CarRod was optioned on March 10th...so he's good to come up for whoever.
  2. Definitely true...usually they wait until at least June though!
  3. Yes, once a player HAS been optioned he has to stay down for 15 days. I knew that one...but that's the other direction. Outlander made it sound like nobody can be optioned for 15 days, which I've never heard, and if true I was asking why/if that's an opening roster rule or what...
  4. I am unaware of this rule; so the opening day 26 man roster is "set" for 15 days (except for injury/bereavement/family leave etc.)? If so, since Anderson was called up to replace Civale, is he exempt from the 15 day window or does he have to stay up with the club as well?
  5. That performance last night was even more impressive knowing that he was 9 months pregnant!
  6. They could send Patrick down, then start CarGo today and Alexander tomorrow. That would be the same difference to me.
  7. A win would be nice....a blowout would be better. Just don't lose a close game and blow out the bullpen even further. Just go with Alexander, Anderson and Thomas and only use Payamps or Peguero if necessary. Send Anderson down after the game and bring up CarRod to start tomorrow with a rested bullpen. Elvin Rod goes on Sunday and then everybody gets a rest and re-set with the off day Monday. Freddy starts on Tuesday @Col, Mears should be back in the bullpen on Friday @Ariz, and Myers and Quintana should be knocking on the door by the time they come back home on the 14th for the Tigers series. I'll be happy if they are 8-8 at that time and nobody else gets injured.
  8. It would be nice if the portal were later and everybody abided by the rules to keep attention focused on the games still going on on the court. But that just wouldn't happen...instead of guys entering the portal and committing, there would be endless speculation and behind the scenes commits and portal entrances and rumor-mongering and blah blah blah. Might as well open it up and make it official and keep the speculative blather to a minimum.
  9. Why score more than you have to? It's a long season.
  10. As dynamic as EDLC is, he really isn't to be feared from the right side. At all. And while he can make some great defensive plays, he makes errors too.
  11. After getting through EDLC Nestor might as well go 7! This one might be over in under 2 hours.
  12. Cortes almost has his ERA into single digits!
  13. A month after not protecting Smith in the rule 5 draft they traded FOR right-handed Grant Anderson, who only has 1 option remaining. 🤷‍♂️ Between Tyler Jay, Tyler Alexander, Grant Wolfram and Tyler Anderson (on the Angels...still), I honestly didn't even know Grant Anderson was a different person and currently on the roster until he tried to pitch the other day....
  14. With the guys leaving there would/should be room for Johnny Kinziger--which would be awesome as long as he is in more of a supporting role than a needed role. After starring at Illinois St. it might be tough to take a step back, but perhaps "playing" with his brother on a very good B1G team would be enticing enough to come to Madison. Same with a guy like his teammate Dougherty.... neither are likely to be significant B1G contributors let alone starters, but could be great "program" guys and depth pieces.
  15. After screwing up TWICE with a guy on 3rd and 0 outs it was long past due.
  16. pffft. Shoulda had the contact play on with guys on 2nd AND 3rd. If Mitchell gets thrown out (and I don't think he does), then Ortiz is still at 3rd with 1 out. Might cost us the game...might not. edit: lol...I see others think he woulda been out. Maybe... tough play with the tag. That ball hung up there a long time.
  17. My guess is that he wants to use Yelich to PH for Collins...although he could still do that and make Yelich play the field for an inning or two....
  18. I laughed. As long as it is changed soon...
  19. Looks like UW is getting Nick Boyd, which would be outstanding. Adding Rapp and Rohde would make for a formidable squad...or getting any two guys in their mold (a big and a big wing).
  20. I already had Ragans in my fantasy league...and I just picked up Lodolo. I can't lose! Or win!
  21. Thought this would be a Bauers and Dunn kind of day. Nasty lefty coming tomorrow in the day game; woulda made sense to give Hoskins and Capra the night off tonight. Oh. The above lineup is wrong: Batters MIL B HR RBI SB AVG OPS Turang2B L 1 3 1 .267 .761 ChourioRF R 0 2 0 .211 .527 YelichLF L 0 1 1 .077 .327 Contreras, WmDH R 0 0 0 .143 .393 FrelickCF L 0 1 0 .429 .958 Hoskins1B R 0 1 0 .111 .444 Dunn3B L 0 0 0 .000 .000 Ortiz, JSS R 0 0 0 .176 .352 HaaseC R 0 0 0 .500 1.000
  22. It only bothers me that they are called "torpedo" bats, and torpedos have the shape of softball bats or wiffle ball bats which is the exact opposite of the shape of these bats. I think they should be called big bopper bats.
  23. Jake Bauers has earned his shot...
  24. The Yankees are starting Pablo Reyes AND Trent Grisham...Neither good enough to be on our 40 man.
