  1. mlb.com reported last week that he's not near returning. Looks like Mid-Sept at earliest, and that wouldn't even be stretched out. Stearns told Grindle in the pre-game today that Woodruff should begin throwing off a mound next week. So yeah, by mid-september he should be ready to start.
  2. And 134 innings there in San Antonio this year. It's not like they are counting on him to take them to the playoffs, I think they are basically rewarding him for having a good season in AAA. It's not like taking time from Arcia or Perez is going to hurt the team.

  5. Doesn't look like A ball has been much of a challenge for him. T-Rats have had a nice second half, now above .500 for the season. Ad then there is Zavolas, Lazar, Webb, Rasmussen and Ashby (and Jankins, Roegner, etc.). That's a lot of guys knocking on the door. I feel like a Tampa Bay Rays fan--if they actually had any fans...

  8. Didn't rip the trade.... didn't die on any hill (yet). I see value in having Domingo (and Aguilar) on this team against lefty starting and relief pitching off the bench. I see value with Gamel too, just not as much. Close trade, but I'd still rather have Santana and find other defensive guys/strategies to cover late innings. And if you can say the same 5 years from now, hooray for you, but there is a very real chance that Zavolas by himself outproduces Santana over the entirety of their careers.

  11. Rickey Henderson has 13, Reggie Sanders has 14... I'm not adept at searching this sort of thing, but those are the names I thought of. ANybody with more? EDIT: Willie Mays has 11 such seasons...

  14. He is memorializing the "Iron Brigade"--a Civil War unit from Wisconsin known as the "Blackhats"
  15. Sadly. yes Heck, CG of any sort. I'm torn about the trend, as if you have a good bullpen I have a hard time actually defending leaving any starting pitcher in longer than 7 innings... although we have a bad bullpen and it's a 6-0 game tonight and our starter is a veteran who is a free agent after the year....
  16. Yeah, I agree. It's not like Lyles is a young guy who we are trying to protect...if he wants to keep going and undoubtedly he does, I think you have to let him pitch. Oh well.
  17. This is a very under-rated meme.
  18. Plus, your pitcher is throwing a no-no and your CF is your best defender...'twould be a shame if that comes back to haunt Lyles/CC What exactly was CC going to do, ask for a review on the ejection? Yeah, I don't know, it's prolly more Cain's fault. I'm only listening.

  20. It’d be interesting to know the percentage that the RF makes a perfect throw to home versus Lyles percentage of getting him in from 3rd with 1 out. Well, it's the percentage of Lyles getting him in with 1 out + Cain getting him in with 2 outs. And generally I've been a big Sedar supporter in the right situation...i.e. if there were 2 outs when he sent Braun there then whatever...
  21. I'm only listening (to shield my eyes from the clown show), but that sure sounded like a bad send by windmill Eddy.
  22. Something tells me he does, but on a Dodgers board... Nope. Not a Dodgers fan. Born and raised in Wisconsin. I’ll love the ‘82 Brewers until the day I die But I also love Vin Scully and old school baseball. The first World Series I ever watched was Yankees - Dodgers 1977. That look. That’s baseball to me. I enjoy the occasional clown show. Keeps us from turning into the U.S.S.A.
  23. Wait, which one of the 3? I think he's talking about Braun.
