  1. It does seem a little early to bring him back, considering both the velocity and the poor results. Neither one were that concerning for the long term picture, but that doesn't mean that he looked ready to pitch in meaningful MLB games tomorrow. I woulda kept him at AAA until he at least pitches a clean inning.
  2. He initially misplayed it, taking a step back, then scrambled in--but you could see him calling him off a few step before he slid, it was just late. As soon as Arcia heard that he shoulda stopped or veered off course, but he kept going about two steps too far.
  3. As far as before we go outside the organization to get pitching help? I'd say Mid-May or once we are .500, whichever comes first. AS far as changes within the organization, they can probably start to happen tomorrow.
  4. That was a much needed 1-2-3 inning. If Wilson can go another then we are in decent shape, otherwise Perez might have to head down to the bullpen.
  5. After Arcia's screw up, all is where it should have been. 2 on, nobody out and Carp and Goldschmidt coming up.... 0 runs. That was not expected.
  6. That be the plan, I guess. After Chacin's 2.2 innings yesterday it looks like we might get the San Antonio Shuttle warmed up this series.
  7. Not cool to walk the leadoff guy after getting a 4 run lead... but being that it's Goldschmidt who just hit one 500 feet against you, I'll give him a pass.
  8. Be careful there wearing opposing team colors... I used to live in LA, and always went to see the crew. Typically you are just fine as far as violence goes unless one runs their mouth off, but I can definitely say that few fans have been as heckling as those in Chavez Ravine to my Brewers hat. Maybe that's because you're the pitching coach for the Dodgers...
  9. This team can mash. I've never seen the bottom of the order hit like this in my lifetime. Sure covers up for the times when the middle of the order is scuffling.
  10. This might also be the kind of deal where if the guy turns out to be an absolute stud 5 years from now-- the Braves might tear up the contract and give him an 8 year extension or so from that point on, just as a good faith PR move for everybody.
  11. So pre-arby guys spend ~$15,000 of their $550,000 salary on union dues? Just checking.
  12. You'd think the umpires union would be concerned about the safety of these plate umps getting hit in the face all the time...maybe they should do something about that... Come to think of it, the field umps are in danger too...can't have that...
