  1. I'm starting to think the Brewers never intended to trade to begin with. They put up ridiculous asking prices and of course when no one bites, they get to keep their players and say, "well, at least we tried."
  2. Part of me hopes that they do, as that may mean other teams will be willing to trade away their whole farm to win in one season, and the Brewers are at a point that they should take advantage of that. Part of me hopes that they fall on their face, showing Attanasio the foolishness of trading away your bright future for a slight increase in the odds of winning in one year. All of this talent the Royals are trading away could keep them in the playoff hunt for years, but now they will likely be in the Brewers' boat in a few seasons. Of course, if he didn't learn the lesson from his own team, it's unlikely he'll learn from watching someone else. Really, I don't care if they win or lose, I just hope the Brewers can somehow take advantage of it. No way in heck I would trade away a top-of-the rotation talent for Ben Zobrist. Please Melvin, get in on this bloodbath before all the meat is gone. If Attanasio doesn't learn his lesson now, he's never gonna learn his lesson. He's always going to believe that they are 1-2 aging veterans away from the WS. Whenever thr Brewers fall on their face, it'll be attributed to not having enough aging veterans on this team. He'll fight to the death trying to keep the "faces of the franchise" all the while trying to keep up the illusion of competing.
  3. Manaea and Brooks in return for Zobrist.
  4. Apparently Hoffman's heading to the Rockies.
  5. Miguel Castro heading to the Rockies, according to Morosi.
  6. According to Ken Rosenthal, the Mets are the third team.
  7. Rumors are that there's another team involved. Perhaps Fiers is heading to Toronto?
  8. According to Jon Morosi's source, Norris is not in the trade.
  9. Norris, Hoffman, and Pompey?
  10. Either other teams weren't willing to part with more than a batboy, or the Cards are actually thinking of sending something significant for Lind.
  11. I don't think the Brewers are gonna get Reyes, but I think Kaminsky is possible.
  12. Cueto has been traded for Finnegan, Lamb, and Reed.
  13. I'm guessing that the Brewers are gonna get more out of Pittsburgh than they would from other teams considering that it's an in-division trade.
  14. I've watched him pitch 3-4 times, including last night. His FB has a ton of life, it's impressive, he just wasn't locating it well last night. He doesn't seem to get much secondary stuff across in good locations either so he's down in the count quite a bit or throwing pretty hittable pitches. His pitch to A-Rod was pretty bad and made me sad as I was watching at the restaurant, looked like some kind of change-up. All of the pieces are there though, I guess just depends on if you trust the Brewers or Gausman to put it together on his own, obviously Baltimore doesn't have much faith since he's available and started the year in the pen. He's either been outstanding or has gotten shelled, not much in-between. MIN really tuned him up on July 7th, and his last 2 starts have bounced his ERA from 3.09 to 5.18. The O's just don't seem to catch a break. Gausman should be better than he is, Bundy went down again with a weird shoulder problem, and Harvey has had 3 different injury issues as well. Any of those 3 guys if healthy and effective is very attractive... right now I'd be pressed to make a deal for any, unless the O's were going to give us all 3 in one shot to hedge our bets. But then again, the O's didn't do a good job of handling Gausman. I know you question the Brewers' ability to develop pitchers, especially ones with questionable command, but I think they'd do a better job of handling Gausman than the O's did.
  15. According to Ken Rosenthal, the O's have inquired about Gomez. I don't really think they can put together a package worthy of getting Gomez- they don't have much outside of Gausman and Cisco. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/07/orioles-interested-in-padres-justin-upton.html
  16. Intriguing, but seeing Singleton's batting average makes me cringe.
  17. Apparently the reason why Kirby's deal is underslot is because there is a medical concern.
  18. The lack of further rumors is a bit frustrating. But there's also little news regarding the reason for pulling Alex Jackson, which could be an indication of things to come...
  19. Actually, it does say at the end that he will be subject to signing pools.
  20. I'm guessing Ray Montgomery's gonna be the new GM.
  21. But there's also Riley Pint. The name fits!
  22. It seems that the Brewers are not going to make a huge splash this year. Strange that they took one step forward and one step back.
  23. It's just because of bad luck and injuries. Just a few more established veterans and we'll be in the World Series in no time.
  24. Not to mention that they had a good draft this year. The amount of talent that they accumulated is ridiculous.
  25. I don't think the Brewers will go as far as the Braves did. I have a hard time believing that Mark A. is gonna give up on the window of opportunity that closed a WHILE back. At best he'll probably half-ass the rebuild because he wants to have his cake and eat it too.
