  1. That's simply an inexcusable play by Koskie. Some Veteran guidance for the rookies. Sheets fastball was horrible today. I was listening to the Brewers broadcast in the 2nd inning and only 2 of his fastballs were over 90 (1 at 93, 1 at 94). I don't know if Uecker wasn't calling all the speeds, but it sounded like a definite velocity problem for Sheets. Hope he isn't hurt. Ben H has looked like the pitcher I always hoped he'd be after his success in the minors. Hopefully he can just forget about last year and before and build on this great performance.
  2. did Daron mention kazoos tonight or are you refering to the thread on the majors board? Daron IS a kazoo.
  3. LMAO Chris. Don't give up your day job, but do continue as an amateur graphic artist.
  4. Putting him as part of a larger group clouds his individual contribution. So it's the San Diego Padres vs. Albert Pujol today.
  5. I think it's wise to bunt when the likelihood of successfully bunting/moving the runner over is greater than the likelihood of the hitter not making out.
  6. But what are our chances of winning the Wild Card? We're never out until mathematically eliminated.....my bad we were mathematically elimated quite a few days ago, but hadn't seen many comments from the "we aren't mathematically out of it even if we are only on pace to win 81 games" crowd.
  7. Hopefully Cappy gets that 20th win so he can cost $1 million more in arby come 2007! Don't worry end, he'll probably have another injury from overuse in the quest for 20 and he won't be able to pitch most of next year. That should depress his Arby numbers.
  8. Do you covet EDR's Oxen or Slave? Do you drink Milk? Is it whole milk?
  9. My numbers say 50/50 shot at .500 or better. Do your numbers take into account Gary Glover starting 2 of the remaining games?
  10. Regardless of how you feel about the decision, this has to be the funniets comment of this entire discussion... Quote: The bullpen is fine. On a team with at best 500 talent and a limited budget the bullpen IS fine.
  11. Can you really just add the two to get 78% chance of winning? Yes. Winning the series means the Brewers win 2 (44% chance) or the Brewers win 3 (34% chance). Just add the likelihoods of either event happening to have a "winning" series.
  12. Speaking of which, happened to catch most of "Paycheck" (Ben Affleck) the other day on TV. What a trainwreck. Speaking of Ben Affleck, I saw Surviving Christmas over the weekend and I'm amazed Affleck still gets a paycheck to "act". It's hard to believe someone so young generating a list so long of truely horrible films and yet he still keeps on getting parts.
  13. Too bad they don't continue the game....Ned Yost may be at his best as a manager in a blackout.
  14. Somewhere in Wisconsin, scoop is crying uncontrollably at the beautiful play by Jenkins.
  15. I suspect those criticizing Clark for his baserunning must have been listening to the game and not watching it. Those that aren't criticizing Brady running don't seem to understand the following facts: 2005 (prior to last night): SB = 8 CS = 7 He was clearly safe both times and it wasn't really all that close. You might need to get your Brewer goggles check John because the 2nd time was very close, Brady just got under the tag. I'm not saying he was out, both times he was safe, but to say they weren't even close really isn't accurate. The 2nd base umpire was playing to the pro-Cub crowd and appeared to enjoy calling Clark out both times. Who was the 2nd base umpire? Have you seen him many times before and his approach to the calls were completely different than before? Did you have a special TV set where you could see inside his head? His angle was bad on both calls and he couldn't see the plays as well as he should have. To accuse him of making the wrong calls because he was influenced by the Cubs fans in attendance is beyond silly.
  16. So its ok for the ump to make a clearly incorrect call if was a risky play to begin with? No. Sorry. Clark was clearly safe on both plays and the ump ble No it isn't ok for the ump to ble it. Bad calls even out over a 162 game schedule so I don't think you should ever make an excuse that you lost a game because of bad calls. What was plainly obvious is that Ned is a moron for continuing to run Brady and yet he leads the Universe in CS. I guess if your theory is that CS are random event then it's fine to continue to run a sloth because eventually the SB will come, but I don't think anyone has shown that baserunning is completely a random chance event. Somebody should inform Nedly. Uhm.....worst argument ever. Remind me not to hire you for my attorney. I don't think you could afford him so that's the weakest argument ever. No thank you! I don't want your stinking Mercedes, my Yugo is just fine.
  17. If there is anything this team hasnt quit doing, its making mental and fundamental mistakes. Clancyphile: "From what I gather, the umps gave the Cubs at least one out." xisxisxis: "Don't forget, the Padres beat the Dodgers behind 13K from Jake Peavy."
  18. Good Ideas guys, let me comment on a few and offer an idea or two: 1. Being able to reply to a specific person or to 'all' (mlb.com forums do that). After people get used to using that feature, it's generally clear who's getting yelled at. Hate this idea. People will get too clickee and only carry on conversations between their little group. Since I'm always in the "not cool" group I wouldn't be able to see/hear the interesting stuff. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif The moderators use the EZboard inbox to make specific requests they want to be "hidden", an email would work just as well. Another feature I'd like to see is the ability to hide or ignore threads. That way if I don't wanna see the 19th "Jenkins sucks" or "Yost needs to be fired" threads, I have the ability to hide them. I'm not gonna be as diplomatic as Chris, but I want a feature to ignore specific users. I know that ESPN removed the feature due to too much processor demand for the feature, but it might work in this smaller setting depending on the server you use (BTW I am willing to chip in if you consider moving to a dedicated server, especially if it is required if you host your own message board). I would like to have some cusomability on the users end. Like a check box to block other people's signatures. It gets annoying when people have signatures that exceed the text/size of their posts 95% of the time or if they have large images. Also, would it be possible to IM the person when someone has replied to one of their messages.
  19. down one run with a power throwing RHP on the mound why not go for the power with Fielder??? What good is he doing on the bench right now racking up service time???? What a waste right now with him on the bench if he was pitch hitting it would not be so bad. But NO he sits on the bench so Chris can have a swing.... Fielder already PH earlier in the game.
  20. Well we got the 1 loss out of the way, now we can real off 3 in a row.
  21. Let's choke cubbies, let's choke.
  22. I forgot Santana was on the team...did Yost as well? Santana did give up 3 runs a few weeks ago on the 4th day he pitched in a week so Nedly thought it was best to only pitch him once a week.
  23. The whiffs continue to hurt us. Sac Flies don't work with 2 outs.
  24. C'mon Carlos the best birthday presents are the ones you GIVE!!!!
  25. O batting .600 vs Remlinger! Dusty going with the percentages! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
