  1. I was once on an airplane flight with a former Major League manager...does that put me above most here? Afterall, just being around him and in the cabin for 2.5 hours you pick up more than most. Well from what I understand Rydogg, a jock needs to be involved. Was his Jock in his carry on, was he wearing it, or did you have a chance to carry it?
  2. Can I make the following motion: Change the name of the Woah Solvvd forum to "Classic Brewerfan.net" and add this thread. I haven't had this good of a laugh in months.
  3. What I see is that Stl is good, Pit is bad, and Cubs and Brewers are roughly .500 teams. Last week many people thought the Brewers were headed for the worst record in the NL. A 4 game winning streak and we're close to .500 and this week we're great. Any more wins and we'll be declared NL Central division champions by many of the same who were ready to jump off the ledge last week. I just like think it's best to enjoy the games and realize that water always finds it's level.
  4. JC is a better baseball player than WH. He just is. If I never saw a stat of either I would say the same thing. How can things be proven without stats? Its a matter of using your head. Rocky is a better movie than Gigli. I can tell by watching both and using the hundreds of movies I have seen as a frame of reference. Gigli cost more to make but it sucks compared to Rocky. I don't need box office numbers to make that call. Nietsche move over.
  5. I sense a good weekend of baseball for the Crew. So they win 1 out of the 3 games, or they only get outscored by less than 6 runs while losing 3?
  6. Fans like you guys are a big part of the problem with this franchise. Every time the team or management serves us fans a heaping pile of steaming crap, you guys eat it up and ask for seconds. I swear some of you are so in love with the Brewers that you don't care if they ever win. You're just happy to watch baseball. BadgerFan if you spent any time on this site you might actually see the gigantic irony of me being one of those running around calming the flames of revolt. I have been characterized by many as one of the most pessimistic Brewer fans who never has anything positive to say about this team. Yet here I've been several times today attempting to calm the madding crowd and actually trying to relate to people that it isn't that bad. If you ask me the problem with this franchise is that there are so few fans with any true faith in this team and are willing to stick with it even when they (*gasp*) start out 5-9.
  7. scoop If you're on the edge, JUMP!
  8. I know everybody is accusing me of jumping ship to soon, but this team absolutely sucks and winning 70 games is not in the realm of possibilty. If they win 60 I will be very suprised. This may make me sound way older than I am, but scoop grow up. You're married and I assume you're somewhere in your 20s and you throw these little drama episodes when the team doesn't live up to your delusional expectations. How many times do people need to stress that the season is actually 162 games long (if you don't trust me check out baseballreference.com). This isn't the end of the world. The Brewers will win again. Go get some over the counter laxatives and everything might work out.
  9. while it's unfortunate, this is what some of us were hoping for. You were hoping that a decent player would get hurt so that we could see if the player with the worst stats over the last 2+ years might be worthy of playing a bit more than sitting on the bench? That is downright pathetic. Sure I had a good laugh when Wes had his spill in Puerto Rico, but I didn't want and hope that he would get hurt. Sick, really Sick. If he's a sub-.250 hitter, we'll have an idea soon. He has been for several years and if you take away opening day he makes Trent Durrington look like an MVP.
  10. Well maybe the team will actually play better in the second half than in the first instead of starting off strong and tanking. It's a long season and they will win their share of games, but maybe their share is only 75.
  11. can mere words express my feelings? Yes: NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. My MLB Radio keeeps clicking off. Very annoying . . . . Come the seventh inning you might be thanking MLB.com profusely.
  13. now, let's open the floodgates!!! 2 Hits in a GAME? And the Pickles did the trick Bill. Save that it's power man.
  14. I'm sure Nedly will do something to inspire the team like he did last year post All-star. I think the Brewers only problem is that they strike out too much.
  15. Incredible diving catch by Magruder. If that had been Jenkins the ball would still be rolling. Slightly faster or slightly slower than the appendage that broke off when Geoff hit the ground?
  16. 58 Pitches in 3 Innings. Sounds about right. He'll be done in 5 or 6 innings.
  17. Just not going too well for Cappy tonight. Well when your WHIP approaches 3 your never gonna have a good night. Crapuano must think he gets paid extra for each batter he faces because he sure likes to put runners on. Unfortunately, he has been able to work some miracles in the past after putting runners on base, but long-term few pitchers have success giving up so many baserunners.
  18. I haven't complained much about the umps this year, especially the home plate umps (usually defending them), but boy I don't know where the zone is. Funny how the Brewers pitchers have a problem, but the Brewers hitters don't seem to take advantage.
  19. Wow the Yankees are puttin' a hurtin' on the Devil Rays.
  20. Davis has exceeded my expectations over the last 2 years, but one problem he has is walking way too many batters. Here he goes and walks Yadier Molina (he of the .043 BA). Really Doug pull your head out of your butt. You don't walk a rookie hitting .043. Do you think the Cardinals aren't gonna make Hardy earn his way on base?
  21. Glad to hear Jenkins is sick and Ned isn't a complete moron. Hopefully Geoff can get back out there tomorrow because it looks like he's starting to come around. Unfortunately, the Brewers offense decided to come back to ground when the Cardinals came to town. Now we can see how far we still have to go to be competitive. When was the last time Hardy got on base?
  22. Things were lagging a bit the other day, but at 5-3 we're halfway done with one page in this thread, and we have 8 hours till gametime If we could only play the Pirates all year we might have a shot at a winning record.
  23. My suggestion for this years strategic proposal is to NOT pick a relative of a major league player.
