  1. I disagree...i think Helms is playing at the top of his game. He has one hit already this spring....doesn't he? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  2. If they charged your credit card then all you need to do is log into your account and click on the audio tab at mlb.com and then click on the link for the game / radio feed you want to listen to. Also, I'm not as good a MSN-pimp as MassBrew, but if you are an MSN subsciber then MLB All-access is part of MSN. I guess it's not a bad deal ($9.95 per month for broadband MSN) since ALL-Access is $99 or $95 for the year (oh yeah and you get all that wonderful MSN stuff too). http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. Matt Holliday goes yard on Helling. YEAH!!! Oops, sorry, I'm happy because I have him on several Fantasy BBAll teams, not because he's bitchslappin' one of the "good guys".
  4. I believe most of us are upset because we "thought" it was for free and after a couple of free games, it's gone. I agree they didn't make it clear from the beginning, but I can also understand why they can't provide it for free.
  5. I can not find the edit optionat all anywhere by my latest comment or even when I go into the post itself. Where is the edit option You also have to be logged into ezboard to see the "Edit" link for your posts.
  6. There is no reason why Spring Training webcasts are not available to the general public. Yeah I'm sure it doesn't cost them anything to produce like it does during the regular season. I'm sure all the people involved are doing it for free and the telephone and television companies are not charging for their services. Greedy MLB just wants you to pay a fraction of a penny for each game so they can just fill pay for reporters like Adam Mcalvy (who probably just mails in his columns that he downloads from previous years and changes the names) or complete access to all the teams. Yeah those greedy bastards!
  7. Archive link: mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/ml...d=20050308 The AB starts at 42 minutes (42:00) into the broadcast and the HR was at ~45:25.
  8. I have little sympathy for me-first prima donnas who think they're bigger than the game and deserve big money for never doing a thing. I hope he snaps an arm. I think that's a bit harsh and you might be over-reacting or over-interpreting the situation. Owners have notoriously caved in or been manipulatable by agents. The agent attempts to get as much as possible and the player let's his agent do his job. My problem is that Boras is representing someone who hasn't thrown a pitch in organized baseball and they haven't had years of income to rely on or as a nest-egg. Boras needs to look out for his client #1 and it seems with many of these draftee holdouts that he's willing to gamble the players money to make sure he doesn't "give in" to the team. Often it still works out for the player, but on occassion the player is screwed (see Matt Harrington). I don't fault Weaver for trying to get everything he can, but I do fault him for putting too much trust in his agent and that agent isn't necessarily thinking of the client first. Edit: Harrington wasn't a Boras client (I think Arn Tellem was the one that screwed him?). He's just an example of a player who gets screwed by an agent because the agent's primary goal isn't what's best for the player.
  9. I hope his OBP is also higher also. I don't know that might be pushing it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif
  10. This guy in an e-mail asks if Hall will hit .280 or .290. I have no doubt his SLG will be over .280. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  11. I'll be happy if Hart and Nelson are both servicable Major leaguers even if not in a regular role. If either become an average corner OF for a few years then that's a good return on the investment.
  12. When I log into my MLB.com account and press on the links I don't get a restricted message, it just plays a short blurb about the stream not being available. I don't know if that means it's free if you log in or if the link still won't work when the game is on. I would give it a try if you aren't sure about getting the Audio package.
  13. So perhaps i'll have the default be like this, and have a special "colorblind" stylsheet and a "larger resolution" stylesheet for this with not-so-stellar eyesight. How about a brail version. I'm not getting any younger.
  14. Brewerfan's Toby Harrmann has decided to step down as Minor League Guru, as increased responsibilties in his school, work, and outside interest life have left him very little time to commit himself to the site as he used to. Well I for one don't find that acceptable. Like a good pusher Toby's got us hooked on the Power 50 and we need our FIX. Now Toby wants to leave us to go semi-cold Turkey?!!? No way Jose. Get your butt in front of that computer and make up Power 50's for the rest of the year, send them to Brian and he'll post them weekly. Most of us won't know the difference (Harold will be complaining about where Vandenberg is ranked every week), but we'll be blissfull in our ignorance because we'll have updates. Seriously, Toby your minor league efforts were truely apprecieated, good luck with school etc. and stop by once in awhile and enlighten us. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. Because some people like myself find laughter to be very useful in dealing with a variety of stressful situations. OK Igor, the last time you dropped a gel on the floor before you could take a picture of the results did you 1) laugh; 2) scream; 3) swear a blue streak; or 4) shrug your shoulders and make another one? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. "I think there was this perception that Jack and I get in a room and fight over high school and college (players)," said Brewers general manager Doug Melvin, whose Texas Rangers clubs in the 1990s tended toward college draft crops. "I have to tell you that that's somewhat comical." I've been working on a Melvin decoder and translater and I think I've got it perfected. Running that statement through I came up with: Melvin: I don't deny that's what happens, I'm just a funny guy and we have fun fighting over who to draft. Actually it's not a room, but in the parking lot because Jack doesn't get near me since I Karate kicked him last year when he wanted to draft a pitcher in the 4th round when he knew we were alternating 5 position players/5 pitchers.
  17. Remember when Junior had a ton of trade value? Remember when we might have been able to trade him for someone of Meltdown Bradley's calibre? But he was such a valuable nugget for Doug to pick up. We had to have him so that we could bench Ginter and then watch Juniors trade value sink below the Bush administrations ethics line.
  18. Anyone got that sick feeling in their stomach about Viz being back out there? I do, but I think it's the dodgy pineapple I just ate.
  19. So if Molina is such a great defensive catcher, why does he keep dropping the ball on steals? His reputation exceeds his play?
  20. Btw-was Brooks put on leave or not? He should have, but I haven't seen confirmation.
  21. But David, what about Trent Durrington? We like him because of his versatility, remember? He can catch. I think, technically, Durrington is the designated back-stop.
  22. So is Bennett unavailable? Endaround you might have missed Nedley's plan, but on days that Sheets starts, Moeller catches. Now if Sheets leaves the game, Moeller still has to catch because Sheets STARTED the game. See? Quite simple and knowing our manager it has to be simple for him to understand.
  23. you're asking DAVE if he's got some "positive Brewers vibes" stored up??!?!?!? hehe...sorry xis, couldn't resist! Yeah I was thinking that might be genetically impossible then look what happened......K
  24. Is it just me or does Spivey come up with ways to make even a 2 hit performance make you wanna kick him in the butt?
