  1. in reality his bat is much better off the bench than Murphy. his defense however is much subpar
  2. atleast he has had a hot spring and can maybe use that for a few weeks til green or bianchi get healthy. gotta think this is a temporary solution
  3. When do you guys think he makes his debut? right now he is most likely to pitch thursday which would line him up for the 2 spot in the rotation but do you think its likely he starts right away against colorado?
  4. I think its quite obvious Agon will be the man at first. maybe not everyday but for 4-5 days a week is my guess. Im guessing Lalli doesnt make it and they go Murphy Davis Schafer Maldy as the bench so maybe Maldy get some playing time at first as well.
  5. What makes you think Maldonado is going to be the starter at first? It seems everything they talk about has Gonzalez at first
  6. could the brewers make any of these moves if de los santos continues to have visa problems and is unable to enter this country, or would that qualify for a move to the restricted list? de los santos was indeed placed on the restricted list. with the signing of kyle lohse, the roster remains at 39. Have to assume that 40 spot goes to Murphy, he pretty much has to make the team at the moment doesnt he as the back up infielder? I'm guessing they somehow clear one more spot to make room for either Hand or Figaro
  7. I'm hoping its the fact he learned the sinker. Probably with the help of Dave Duncan. Maybe for once Dave Duncan can help us out for once
  8. My guess is they put Rogers on the 60 day dl. just a guess though.
  9. This. Lohse with the Cardinals: 809 IP 3.90 ERA 1.279 WHIP 9.3 H/9 2.2 BB/9 5.6 K/9 101 ERA+ Lohse the rest of his career: 1162 IP 4.82 ERA 1.432 WHIP 10.1 H/9 2.8 BB/9 5.7K/9 95 ERA+ Almost a run less of ERA, a .153 drop in WHIP, and almost 1 less hit per inning with the Cardinals while K and BB rates stay about the same. Lohse is a product of playing in St. Louis. He is a disaster waiting to happen. I'll give you this, Lohse was really helped by playing in St. Louis, however I think it has more to do with that they taught him that killer sinker he has, so he can rely on that instead of his average fastball.
  10. He has been pitching upto 90 pitches in simulated games.
  11. I will not root for him. He is a crap pitcher who lucked into a couple halfway decent seasons in a row right before free agency. He will be a bigger bust than Suppan, mark my words and I will boo him to the World Series if I have to. thats fine, but you would still boo him if he does good and especially good enough to win a cy young?
  12. So how close to ready do you think Lohse will be? my guess is he starts a spring game this week. pitches once in the minors while we skip our 5th spot in the rotation and then he comes in
  13. put Estrada in place of Fiers and you have my guess
  14. How much impact would this signing have, really? I don't think going from 79 to 83 wins isn't going to get this team to the playoffs. Obviously the Brewers feel they have a better team than 79 wins. If the bullpen is even slightly better and the lineup is nearly as good that should put them in the mid to upper 80's in wins
  15. 3/33 isnt horrible to me. i like the fact its not for 15 per. I can live with the 3rd year
  16. I am pretty sure they get our pick ... Which is why it is a horrible signing No the new cba switched this. They only get an additional pick after the first round which in this case is the 28th pick
  17. I get the feeling this is more Mark A then Doug. just a feeling though
  18. so if our bench options all need to be placed on the 40 man isnt that 3 spots we now have to open up for Lalli, Murphy, & Davis
  19. Either Way the Cardinals were going to get the 28th pick. that had nothing to do with us
  20. i'm betting 2 years with an option for a 3rd. $9 million/year. just a guess. if so I am ok with the move. not thrilled but ok. I believe it was J.P. Breen who wrote a very intelligent article about the value of signing Lohse
  21. I need to know the money on it before making a determination
  22. looks like Rogers might be going to the dl so its down to Hand & Figaro for the final spot
  23. Those are my favorite!
