I know so many of you are willing to give up on CAsey, but does this make him a bench player? Or would he go to AAA? He has a bigger part of the future of this team than a guy like Yunie so we have to take this into consideration too.
If anything that article sure brings back memories of the team. Vina/Rillo/Niellsen........Then Girardi was playing. NIce stuff. Too bad about the guy though seems a bit like a ZAmbrano type.
^What? --referring to the guy made the comment about his dad Knocking on wood here guys but this bullpen is ....holds breath as McGhee makes the play..... ok this bullpen is really good. only a lefty replacing Dillard away from being about as good as one can ask. Overworking K Rod would be a mistake too though.
It's actually laughable how bad Counsell is right now. Feel a little bad for him but then I remember hes won a couple World Series and is probably set for life. Retire mid August Craig. You can stick around as a veteran coach or something .
I think at this point we can roll with what we have for backup outfielders now that 2 (maybe 3 if Casey don't straighten out) infielders are way below MLB average. Two trades. One massive Chisox trade...... anything Doug . For real you cannot stand pat on 2 roster moves that need to happen. I wish he read this freaking site.
Let's quit dicking around and get CArroll and Furcal . Easier said than done but we now need to make a trade for 2 guys instead of 1. Teach em how to Dougie. The answer to my little puzzle was Counsell. If he wasn't such a likeab;le guy i'd rip on him more than i do. Same with Casey.... why do the likeable players tend to struggle . Braun is not a likeable guy and he is amazing. Funny how that works.
Agreed was hoping the Mets struck out on deals and had to keep him or trade him to the AL. This is not good by any means. Only good thing is he isn't going to Cincy or Pitt who were rumored to be after him as well as the Braves.
For once. I was going to bump this thread to make it about Craig Counsell and not CAsey Mack.............Green would be a better PH option at this point than Craiger.
It's just a story of a guy hanging on one year too long. It is too bad because (not to put words in peoples mouths) but who here doesn't like Craig Counsell? I root for the guy but it has become clear he is done. Maybe he will proove us all wrong with some big hits down the stretch but right now Green needs to be on the team over him.
After thinking about it some more I guess I could warm to Carroll. PLay him 3 out of every 5 days and rotate beteween Short and 3b in those 3 games basing it on matchups (no not YB is 2-3 against pitcher A type matchups either RR) . If the managemenet can play the matchups they cuold get average production out of those two positions. I would then cut Yuni (keep counsell for defense and josh wilson can at least play out in the outfield as well). Then you hope like hell Stetter/Braddock can help the lefty situation in August September and October. I hope MElvin stuns us all with a big name ss but I am starting to grow weery of it.
