  1. He has had four good outings in a row out of the pen. 12k’s over his last 5 2/3 innings. Maybe he has turned a corner?
  2. Bickford has been absolutely dominant over his last 8 outings. Wonder if he will get a bump to AA soon?
  3. Counsell will always have a soft spot for bench guys and struggling veterans. It's what he was. I don't even get worked up over some of these moves anymore.
  4. Maverick (Brett) Philips just tried to run through a wall. The wall won. Hope dude is ok though.
  5. The thing with the Rockies is that they most likely have a better chance at a division title then the WC. They are right there with the Dodgers and Dbacks with plenty of games left vs those two teams.
  6. Dbacks lose one late again to the Dodgers. Tory Lovullo pulls his closer and opts for the same matchup that beat him last night (Bradley vs Kemp). This time in the 9th with runners on 2nd & 3rd and one out. Kemp blasts the first pitch off the wall for a 2 run walk off hit. First base was open and the only runners that matter where the ones on 2nd & 3rd. Walking Kemp puts a DP in play. Puig on deck.... Thinking Lovullo is going to get grilled on this one.
  7. I know some of our losses lately have been tough to swallow but imagine things in AZ. The Dbacks defeated the Dodgers on Thursday to take a 2 game lead in the division only to lose the next two by giving up some late inning home runs. First Greinke gave up consecutive late inning home runs on Friday then Archie Bradley gave up a late 3 run bomb to Kemp last night. Dbacks lose both games 3-2. Instead of what could have grown to a 4 game lead in the division, the teams are now tied for first. Crazy.
  8. Guerra has been struggling for some time now. I was hoping for the best today as CC obviously still thinks he belongs in a MLB rotation of a playoff contending team. I simply disagree.
  9. Considering his career numbers (both Majors and Minors) in day games, Domingo Santana at least needs to be in our Sunday lineups! (Not in blue either). The dude just sees the ball better in day games for some reason...
  10. So now we are on to tomorrow (or today depending on where you live), and Junior Guerra. I am going to be rooting for Junior like crazy tomorrow as this team needs a bounce back win before the Cubs come to town, however, if he has another implosion, Counsell needs to be held accountable for the decision to start Guerra again. He now has other options.
  11. FWIW the Brewers have won 6 of their last 9 games. With the amount of people claiming to be done with them, you would think they had lost 6 of their last 9 games.
  12. Gotta think Woodruff is coming up on 9/1.
  13. I agree. With the off day we had on Monday, both Miley and Chacin are on 4 days rest as of tomorrow. Can’t be afraid to use both if needed to save the pen. Anderson would be on schedule for Friday. Saturday is September 1st so that opens other possibilities. Woodruff only was used for 2 innings tonight so he could be available to give us innings this weekend.
  14. Davies throws a 9-inning complete game giving up seven hits but gets it done in only 86 pitches. That's incredible. Erceg hasn't played in four days. Hurt or getting a break to work on something? Weston Wilson has been on a tear for a while now. It will be interesting to see how things play out with him and Erceg now that Wilson has caught up to him in AA. They are both 23 years of age and both were drafted in 2016.
  15. Solid pitching in the system tonight especially by some guys (Houser/ Davies) who can seriously help the Brewers in September.
  16. In an emergency, Brewers could also have Anderson ready to piggy back Chacin tomorrow. He last pitched on the 20th so he would be on full 4 day rest. Everyone else in the rotation would still be in line since we had the off day yesterday.
  17. Wish we could bring Domingo Santana up for these day games... Dude was a superstar hitter in day games since coming to the Brewers.
  18. He sees more pitches that don't break but there is absolutely no reason he should be taking at bats away from who ever would move down the lineup. I agree. It does go back beyond Colorado Springs though. Maybe he has a different mindset batting 2nd compared to 8th. Crap, the offense can’t get much worse. I mean they did recently have Broxton lead off with an average below the Mendoza line. Outside of tonight, Thames has been horrid in the leadoff spot. Yelich and Cain probably should be 1 & 2 each game just so they could get the most at bats.
  19. Maybe try putting Arcia 2nd in the batting order... I would try anything at this point. I say bat him 2nd because that is the spot in the order he always bats in the minors (where he rakes. His numbers batting 2nd are unreal for some odd reason).
  20. Weston Wilson is having a historic July.
  21. They do but he really struggled last year and only shown slight improvement this year. Thames would be an upgrade.
