  1. I am basing this (replacing Parra with McClung) off his success he had as a 5th starter last year. In addition, if Burns can provide some long relief, Manny can be relegated to loogy status... We also have Dillard, who is stretched out, and can be called up to provide some more long relief!
  2. Maybe it's time for McClung to switch spots with Parra... Let McClung take Manny's next start and let Manny pitch in long relief!
  3. Mark Rogers with another solid outing... Here is his spectacular 2nd inning: Fort Myers Top 2nd Rene Leveret strikes out swinging. Chris Parmelee strikes out swinging. Deibinson Romero strikes out swinging NICE!!!!!
  4. I would love for Gamel to eventually lead off (at least this year until Rickie gets back)... The Brewers have enough power later in the line-up and he runs very well (as evidenced by his 23 triples in 4+ minoe league seasons)... He has also been a good OBP (.379) guy throughout his minor league career... We don't really need him to steal bases because Macha doesn't have us running at all this year! Potential Line-up: Gamel Hardy Braun Fielder Cameron Hart Hall/ Cousell/ McGehee Kendall Pitcher spot
  5. Dave Bush over his last 33 appearances (31 starts): W- 12 L- 5 IP- 196.2 H- 164 ER- 75 ERA- 3.43 This includes his Playoff victory over Philadelphia
  6. Hall has played a total of 101 games and logged 803 innings at 2B since 2003 (alot less recently however)... His fielding percentage is around .960 while playing 2B (Weeks is .964 for his career)
  7. Can't Bill Hall play 2B? Let Gamel play 3B while Weeks is out?
  8. I apologize... I had thought it was already known on this board that the Brewers have been previously mentioned as being a team in the hunt (per MLBTraderumors.com)... When I saw that the were "emerging" I assumed it meant that they were emerging from those teams who were 'in the hunt" for Pedro... Again, I apologize if my previous post mislead anyone! And yes, the article was indeed "unsourced speculation"!!! WoooHooo!
  9. Another poor start by Manny could mean a more serious look at Pedro!
  10. Now there are reports (Nick Cafardo/ Boston Globe) that the Brewers may be emerging as the front runner for Pedro! (read down to player/topic 7)... http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/articles/2009/04/26/greinke_is_zeroed_in_now/?page=5
  11. Thanks for the clarification PeaveyFury... Let's hope the Rangers make a play on Sheets then! At least that way we should get a 2nd for him...
  12. I am sorry if this has been covered already... Now that the Yankees have Sabathia and we get their #1, what if they also sign Burnett and Sheets... What pick do we get for Sheets? Do we get their #2 or does Toronto get it? Besides the sandwich picks that is....
  13. The way I see it, if we are already offering Sabathia 20M per year for 5 years, plus the savings of 10M for Cameron, 12.5M for Suppan, and at least 7M (Arby) for Prince, we could meet any asking price for Teixeira! In my opinion, it would be money better spent, with less risk, than on a pitcher (Sabathia)! Please know that I would love to see Sabathia stay but it does scare me to death with the $$$ being offered!
  14. Prince, Cameron, Suppan in exchange for Cabrera, Hughes, and Kennedy... To me, getting rid of Suppan is worth taking less prospects in this deal! Otherwise send Prince and Cameron in exchange for Cabrera, Hughes, Kennedy and prospect! With the added pitching and savings, we could then offer big on Teixeira to play 1B if Sabathia doesn't stay!
  15. Looks like the previously reported 4 year, $100 million CC contract report was incorrect according to this blog on JSonline. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/33695279.html
  16. So did Green get hit by a pitch and break his nose or was it a bad hop grounder that did the trick? Let's hope it wasn't both!!!!
  17. Jeffress is scheduled to start tomorrow (Thursday the 16th)! Here is the link... http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/s...;lid=119&ymd=20081016
  18. Jeffress and Periard both make their AFL debuts! They combined to go 5 IP with just 1 ER and 6 K's! Link http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/s...008_10_09_pddwin_perwin_1
  19. Start building for next year by letting Gallardo finish this game!
  20. I didn't say anything about the decision to start Suppan today, but only because I wanted to give the coaching staff the benefit of the doubt that Gallardo wasn't available on 3 days rest coming of his injury. But now that Gallardo is in, and was indeed available, this is on the coaching staff! Suppan should not have started today and should not have seen the ball in this series!
  21. It's not even the fact that we are going to lose this game today... It makes me sick to know that with the amout of $$$ we owe Suppan over the next few years, he will probably be in our rotation during that time...
  22. JSonline just updated the blog... Here it is! http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2008/07/19/did-brewers-trade-ford-for-street.aspx Is the trade a done deal?
  23. 2 straight low pitch count innings for Manny... He may be able to go 7 now!
