  1. I know it's really unpopular and would probably be lame for MLB, but the runner on second in extras thing is actually really fun in the minors. I would like to see them step it up a notch (in the minors) and start each extra inning after the 10th with bases loaded. Now that would be really, really fun!
  2. Albers had just 14 pitches. Sort of surprised he isn’t back out there?
  3. So once Albers is out tonight who else is available? Junior Guerra and then maybe Chase Anderson if it goes really deep into extra innings?
  4. Tanner Rainey has a 9.3 BB/9 walk rate over his major league career. More than a walk per inning average, that’s pretty incredible.
  5. The biggest problem with Hader here is the ball is flying in this humidity. Hopefully no one touches him. Here we gooooo...... finish this one out.
  6. I think the failure to foster impact talent in the system has been impacted by a weak presence in the International market for many years more than an indictment of the stateside amateur scouts. Finding true difference makers in baseball is difficult and a lot of that talent comes from abroad.
  7. Sankey is the scout credited for the Jonathan Lucroy pick in 2007 and Nate Orf more recently.
  8. Jordan Lyles: Batter (Nationals) vs Pitching Stats Aníbal Sánchez: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats
  9. Surprised the Nationals didn't just call up any random lefty from their farm to guarantee the victory. It appears the only left-handed starting pitcher they have above A-ball has a 9.23 ERA. Still would have been tempting to just bring up that guy (Ben Braymer).
  10. This is also mentioned in the Minor League Transaction thread, but Jung Ho Kang apparently took infield practice with the Missions yesterday. No official word that he has signed a contract with the Brewers yet. He played in 65 games for the Pirates this season. More photos available via this Joe Alexander Tweet.

  12. The best move of the 2019 deadline was not trading Trent Grisham.
  13. Hook going to the mound isn't making me any less nervous here. Come on Matt, finish this one.
  14. Agreed, it’s perfectly setup to serve some retribution to the Twins for last night’s game. This feels like a really important opportunity to bounce back and move on from last night’s bad memories.
  15. Gibson threw Orlando Arcia 7 straight pitches (all 7) outside of the strike zone on that strike out. With the pitcher on deck it was predictable that Arcia was going to go up hacking and Gibson took advantage of it.
