This season is going to be a wild ride. Despite being early in the season it already seems very likely we will see many waves of scoring for and against this team throughout these games. I can’t remember ever having this sort of feeling where I don’t take a 5-plus run lead for granted, but I also never give up when they get down a bunch either.
Cardinals Manager Mike Shildt after the game: “You have tip your hat. It's unbelievable. It's almost like he's psychic." I guess he’s implying that Yelich seems to know which pitches are coming? Kind of a strange.
You seem upset. I would have been upset if that dufass injured Yelich. Let’s leave “horsefeathers” and other mangled swearing connotations to filthier corners of the baseball internet.
[sarcasm]I’ll have to go back and check the original trade thread, but I think I may have said something along the lines of “the next Barry Bonds” in there somewhere.[/sarcasm]
That lineup would have been murder. Man ... what could have been ... It probably would have cost them someone like Woodruff (a guess), but it would have been at least one glorious offensive season indeed.
I hope this statement ends up looking silly by the end of the season, but I would gladly take a mulligan on that trade and get the draft pick back. EDIT: Full disclosure, that was my least favorite trade of the Stearns era from day one.
