  1. Taylor Williams giving up some seriously hard contact so far. I’m not looking forward to the year I picture Goldschmidt having.
  2. Becuase run estimators indicate a team's best hitter batting 2nd typically results in more runs scored over the course of season. AKA “The Book”.
  3. I think he probably was safe, but will be shocked if they overturn it.
  4. He is supposed to be one of the very best pitch framers in baseball.
  5. How many times has the lead-off runner reached base tonight for the Cardinals? At least 4 times, correct?
  6. It didn’t look like he swung either way to me. The replay made it look very close. Completely agree that I went from frustrated in real-time to more of a shrug on the overhead replay.
  7. Clear audio on the broadcast from Braun to Yelich at homeplate... “He walked you to get to me”.... I freaking love it.
  8. And often results in getting literally zero boardline pitches called in your favor.
  9. Moose diving stab and throwing out Molina looked like a play from an old timers softball game! Edit: As in from both sides of the equation.
  10. I think maybe I would just have Freddy walk Goldschmidt going forward... this season.
  11. The good news from the bottom half of the inning is the Brewers were getting the bat on Flaherty. Hopefully Freddy can settle in and the Brewers can put up a few on the board versus Flaherty. Having the Brewers comeback from being down 3-0 two days in a row would be a heck of a way to start the season.
  12. Unfortunately this has the makings of a very short start for Peralta.
  13. I shouldn’t be this nervous in the top half of the 1st inning. Goldschmidt seems to be really barreling up Freddy’s fastball.
  14. Per Haudricourt: Brewers reliever Corey Knebel has decided to have Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery.
  15. Not a great look for MLB... From The Athletic: ‘Ready to strike tomorrow’: How one $20 trinket captures the strife within a $10 billion industry The article is behind a paywall, but here are a couple of short passages: To be fair, there is much, much more to the article, and the arbitration process is acknowledged as a slightly lesser issue when ranked among the current points of contention between the Players Association and League. It does go on to say the league holds State of the Union style debriefings for all teams at Spring Training (two such meetings in both Arizona and Florida). They are given a booklet that includes data of each team's ability to align with the league's recommendations. Part of the presentation outlines the exact requirements to win "The Belt". If you are wondering, the Brewers weren't among the teams listed as qualifying as finalists for "The Belt".

  17. Same plan for me! Have done that the past couple of opening days.
