While still a long shot, now being just 1.5 games back of the Wild Card starts to make it seem a little more attainable with 10 games to play. The Brewers still likely have to go 7-3 or better over this final stretch. -
Wainwright appearing to get an expanded zone in all directions probably isn’t a good sign for how this is about to go.

A Brewers win tonight paired with a Padres loss to the Luis Castillo led Mariners would certainly make a late season push for the last playoff spot seem a lot more attainable.

It’s a bullpen day for the Brewers, with the multiple off days this week I can see the logic of pushing starters back a day. With just 21 left to play, the Brewers will need to be good nearly every day. Hopefully they can figure out Jordan Montgomery who has given up one or fewer runs in 6 of his 7 starts with the Cardinals including a 6.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8 SO stat line in his appearance against the Crew on August 12th.

The Brewers have 21 games remaining to play their way into the playoffs. Looking at the remaining schedules and understanding the Brewers lack the tie breaker against both the Phillies and Padres, it appears the Brewers probably have to go 14-7 or better to feel good about their chances. Below are the remaining schedules for all NL teams including overall strength of schedule, the Padres have a slightly tougher schedule down the stretch. What sort of Craigtember record are we going to need over the final 21 games to make another playoff appearance?
