  2. The Nationals were officially eliminated from the playoffs today (obviously it has been a foregone conclusion for awhile now). They are the team I am probably most curious to see what they do this off-season. They still have plenty of good talent and maybe they will even re-sign Harper, but it feels a little like their recent window of success is closing. For all of the talent the Nationals have had in recent years, it amazes me that even the Brewers appeared in more NLCS this decade (one) than the Nationals (zero).
  3. Come from behind wins two nights in a row would sure make me feel a lot better about some of the early losses in Pittsburgh this year.
  4. According to some on this board, he's still amazing. Definitely agree with Santana getting more starts. Braun/ Shaw doesn't scare people in the run producing positions. I don’t remember a lot of instances this year with people on this board saying “Ryan Braun is amazing.” Are you sure you have that correct, or are you misconstruing that with some people that have pointed out he has, at times, been subject to some tough luck this season? I do agree with the original point, I would have liked to have seen Santana get a start tonight.
  5. White Sox tie it back up in the 3rd inning. Rooting for the good guys tonight!
  6. While it is disappointing the Brewers haven’t manufactured a run, it is at least nice that they have Williams up over 60 pitches through 3 innings. I know the Pirates have some very good relievers as well, but I’ll gladly take my chances versus that group.
  7. A little late to the party, but Kratz throwing out runners from his knees is one of my new favorite things.
  8. Braves win, and they officially clinch the NL East Division Championship.
  9. Giants were up 4-2, but a Yadi 2-run home run ties it up in the bottom of the 7th. I don’t mind the Cardinals “hanging around”, but I would like the gap to be more than 3 games before the Crew-Cards series starts on Monday.
  10. With Colorado just 1.5 back of the Dodgers I am still rooting for them to win the West. My perfect outcome for today would be the Cardinals, Cubs, and Dodgers all lose, but the Rockies win.
  11. Below is an excerpt from Paul Sullivan’s Chicago Tribune article, The evolution of the domestic abuse investigation of Addison Russell. Does anyone else have a recollection of this story with Matt Garza? I can’t remember hearing about this previously.
  12. It is small sample sizes all around, but the Brewers have yet to have any success against Trevor Williams. Hopefully they can put together some good at bats against him today and improve on these dreadful numbers versus Williams.

  14. There is a long, long way to go in this one, but it just feels like pulling this one out could be a huge momentum boost towards any remaining chance of challenging for the division title.
  15. That Shaw line drive HR almost killed that person in the RF bleachers. Don’t turn your back!
  16. The rare mid-inning catching change. Would be nice to turn this into a big inning (yes I’m getting greedy).
  17. Giants just tied it up at 3-3 versus the Cardinals.
  18. My understanding is that the game is wiped clean like it never happened and they’ll start over. If that happens obviously good timing for the Brewers who were within two outs of the game possibly being official. That being said, I think they are going to get this one in.
