  1. Seems like they pitched around Escobar completely to get to Yelich. Probably a smart play in terms of putting the double play back into the equation.
  2. If you’re unable to see into the future, then you are technically correct.
  3. Well it took 32 pitches and he walked the bases loaded, but thankfully they’re headed to extras.
  4. Not going to overthink this one. Edit: I really didn’t overthink it [or think it through at all], not quite yet…

  6. Not whatsoever especially considering the #2 seed draw is probably the best draw in the NL. Agreed, I am rooting for the Giants to remain right where they are at the head of the pack. The ultimate threading of the needle for the Brewers would be finishing with the second best record in baseball behind only the Giants. That would give them the #2 spot in the NL which appears to be the most desirable playoff position, and home field in any possible playoff matchups (including the World Series) except for a potential NLCS matchup with the Giants.
  7. It really does feel like the Brewers have as good of a chance as anybody to play in [and win] the Fall Classic.
  8. These are the good old days of Brewers baseball. The Yount-Molitor era was pretty good too because from 1978-1992 the Brewers had several really good teams that were entertaining and competitive but didn’t get the playoff appearances in no small part because of being in the brutal AL East where there were always at least a couple very good teams. Every one of the 7 teams except the Indians won the division at least once in that period and advanced to the World Series. There were a few years in which the Brewers failed to make the playoffs despite having more wins (sometimes several more wins) than the winners of the AL West. Sure, but luckily franchises aren’t relegated to a lone window of success and wonderful memories. This is a moment in time that Brewers fans will also look back on fondly.
  9. I want the Dodgers to end up in the Wild Card game, but the Reds and Padres seem so hapless that it feels like the Dodgers beating either at home would be a mere formality. Obviously anything can happen in a one game situation, but it would feel like a massive upset for the Dodgers to exit while hosting a WC game.
  10. The Brewers have a 14.0 division lead with 18 games remaining. Who would’ve ever thought the division would be wrapped up by mid-Craigtember.
  11. This Brewers team feels like they’re somehow playing their best baseball of the season over the past month even though they’ve been good pretty much all season.

  15. One thing that stands out about the Cleveland lineup is how fast their collection of hitters is from top to bottom. They have 10 players that have a sprint speed over 28 ft/second this season, including 6 that are at or above 28.9 ft/second. By comparison the Brewers have 0 players at or above that latter mark. It feels like one of those series where the infielders aren’t going to have much room for error on making clean picks and throws to avoid the opponent racking up infield hits. Unfortunately we’ve seen that hurt the Brewers at points this season, sort of death by a thousand paper cuts.
