  1. I thought that was a double off the bat. Nice play by Yelich, great to see the defense coming through to make that a non-stressful inning.
  2. If they hold on and win this.... maybe I'm reading too much into it with this much season left, but that's gotta be some air let outta cincy's tires. 4-1 lead in the 7th, cutting the division lead by a game, with 2 more games against the div leaders.... instead a 4 run meltdown in the 7th and they lose a game? I know we gotta hang on and win this thing, but that inning is a huge swing right now. I was thinking along the same lines. A Brewers win tonight really puts some pressure on the Reds to feel like they need to win the next two [to keep their division hopes afloat]. Of course, the Reds are currently in the catbird seat for the consolation prize of the second wild card.
  3. Alright! Now a huge at bat for Narvaez who is 2-for-3 for his career against Givens.
  4. Christian Yelich has never faced Mychal Givens BUT… Avisail Garcia is 4-for-7 with 2 home runs against Givens.
  5. Lorenzen apparently not giving Peterson anything to hit with Yelich on deck. Edit: Ump blows the ball four call… frustrating.
  6. Yep, got something cooking. Feels like a really important point in the game to get some runs across.
  7. Here is where the Brewers rank among all MLB teams in runs per game by inning this year (2021)… 1st inning: 14th 2nd inning: 14th 3rd inning: 25th 4th inning: 16th 5th inning: 18th 6th inning: 3rd 7th inning: 6th 8th inning: 19th 9th inning: 9th
  8. It’s sort of interesting to see that impression, because this year’s team actually gives me more hope for late innings offense than in the past.
  9. Having two seemingly different strike zones is making this game a tough watch.
  10. Cain 2-for-18 in his last 20 plate appearances. Hoping he can get something going this series.
  11. At least two called strikes that should’ve been balls in that at bat for Rowdy.
  12. He is throwing hard….he isn’t hurt. I do not think he’s hurt, but velocity spikes occasionally do precede injuries.
  13. Add me to the list of folks here who have pulled a muscle (hamstring) playing slow-pitch softball.
  14. If India has truly been playing hurt with a shoulder injury all season, I’m not looking forward to finding out what a healthy season from him looks like.
  15. Derek Carty’s The Bat X projections (available via The Athletic) give the Brewers a 67.10% chance of winning tonight. Those are the second highest odds of any game in MLB today behind only the Jack Flaherty led Cardinals over the Tigers (71.09% projected win percentage).
  16. Corbin Burnes: Batter (Reds) vs Pitching Stats Tyler Mahle: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats Statcast Game Preview for Reds-Brewers Statcast Game Feed for Reds-Brewers
  17. Looks like you’re missing Brett Anderson from your “missing” list. I do think they’ll use at least 4 starters in the playoffs.
  18. Also, happy birthday weekend to CC who is now apparently the same age (51) that Harvey Kuenn was during the Brewers 1982 World Series season.
  19. Yeah, he had glasses. One of the broadcasts mentioned he didn’t wear them for an outing recently because the hot/humid weather was causing them to fog up. I don’t believe he has worn them since.
  20. I agree, I am excited about what fully formed Ashby is going to look like in a few years.
