I agree with dlk9s in that Veras has good stuff, but just always seems to be behind in the count. I get the feeling he's gonna turn it around though and that he isn't as bad as he's been this season.
Please explain. If it was Izturis or Maysonet, fine, but Ishikawa is a serviceable left-handed bat, plus their pitcher can't throw strikes, no reason to give them an out.
Maybe I'm wrong, but it's weird, 'cuz Yovani's curveball and slider actually looked really sharp tonight. It was just the combination of a couple mistake fastballs right down the middle with a few grounders that found the hole.
Tulo might just be my favorite non-brewer, dude can just rake. How nice would it be to have a SS who could hit around .300, jack 30+ homers, and play good defense..
This strike zone is terrible, that first curveball to Gonzalez was called a ball but was clearly a strike, and the second curveball was called a strike and looked like a ball.
The only thing I can think of, is he didn't wanna hurt Gonzalez's confidence, especially this early in the season. But with Izturis to replace him defensively, no reason not to pinch hit him for Kottaras or even Ishikawa.
