  1. Anyone else find it annoying that Roenicke typically has his long reliever pitch like an inning or so? Might seem kinda petty to complain about, but that's one of many things about his managing that annoys me, that doesn't really get talked about.
  2. I'd rather just give 1B to Gamel.
  3. I wouldn't say it is even very close, Macha was awful. There is a reason his name is never even mentioned when teams are thinking of a new manager and it is because he can't manage players. Macha was good with bullpen management, relatively speaking. And I'm pretty sure he'd never start Mark Kotsay in CF in a playoff game. Nor would he start Casey McGehee and Yuniesky Betancourt virtually every single game when they were automatic outs a couple years ago. Nor would he start Alex freaking Gonzalez virtually every game... at FIRST BASE! Roenicke is the worst manager I've seen in my life.
  4. Macha > Roenicke
  5. Roenicke a bright guy? Lol. I've watched just about every Brewer game since he's been the manager and the guy is a grade A moron.
  6. Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you. He's always been my favorite player as well. At this point though, the guy's an automatic out at the plate. Looks just awful. I don't care what anyone says about small sample size, this or that, the guy flat out sucks. I don't see how anyone can say Weeks would outperform Gennett at this point.
  7. I really don't have a problem with Davis not being at 1B. Some people just shouldn't play on the infield. We know this from watching Braun. So let me get this straight, we gave up our first round pick to minimally improve the team but planned out everything else so poorly we are now stuck with Yuni at 1B. Melvin is the clear leader for whipping boy. Of course DPR has to shoulder some of the blame. Maldonado is an option to play 1B. Not a good option but miles better than Yuni. I typically agree with all your posts, but Maldanado being miles better than Yuni as a 1B? Can't get on board with that, they're both terrible options. Neither one can hit, nor are good defensively at the position.
  8. Mark Kotsay says hello.
  9. I wouldn't feel comfortable with Green at 1B either, he doesn't have the bat to play 1B.
  10. ...because that is where Gonzalez is going to play. Once RR has it in his head, it is a done deal. Roenicke is a moron.
  11. Why wouldn't they give Sean Halton a look at 1B until Hart is ready?
  12. Lol @ Bourn aiming for $100 million at the start of free agency. He got less than half that.
  13. Agreed. He's getting pretty underrated around here. I'm sure i'm in the extreme minority, but for $1 mil, I definitely would've brought him back. At the end of the day, he's a lefty with nasty stuff and has shown he's useful out of the bullpen. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he has a good year with Cincy.
  14. I don't understand the lack of interest by anyone in Brian Wilson. I know he's coming off Tommy John surgery or whatever, but he's still one of the better closers in the game isn't he?
  15. One of the most overrated pitchers in MLB. He's basically Manny Parra and he gets 14 million dollars....
  16. So they don't need him but they need Dan haren?
  17. There's gotta be a reason the Nationals didn't even make a qualifying offer to Jackson... makes ya think. If they don't even want him back for 1 year, 13 mil, signing him for 52 mil sure seems risky.
  18. Why would Saunders make sense for us? He's basically Randy Wolf, who we already released last season.
  19. Why not just have Choo in LF and Heisey in CF? You wouldn't suffer too much offensively, and it would really improve their OF defense that way.
  20. Maybe Corey Hart. He'd step in as their every day 1B and we'd get some nice pitching depth.
  21. So we're going to give up Hart who's going to make about 10 million for Chris Perez who is in his arby years and is getting expensive for the Indians(neither of which works). This setting aside the fact that Perez had a WAR of .8 the last TWO seasons combined while Hart has had a WAR of 7.2 and who completely solidified our lineup AND roster by moving Aoki to RF and Hart to 1st. If we're going to make a trade to KEEP Gamel and give him a job at 1st base, I'm probably one of the few believers who still believe he would be very good. As good as Hart in fact, but younger/cheaper. But I sure as heck would ask for a lot more than Chris Perez. I'd be asking for young talented position players, maybe a young 3rd basemen, a young talented...anything offensively. And if it is for a pitcher, Hart should at least be able to bring back a Johnny Helwegg type prospect, a top 100 prospect with BIG upside. Look at the two words I typed after "Perez".
  22. Well they could use a 1B, maybe we could trade them Hart for Perez and others. That would also clear 1B for Gamel.
  23. Bianchi reminds me of a poor man's J.J. hardy. No reason why he can't be our utility infielder next year.
  24. Estrada's a very solid starting pitcher. I'm with jerichoholicninja that I don't get why most people on here would rather have him in next year's bullpen. He's clearly one of our five best SPs going into next year.
  25. 1) Gallardo 2) Fiers 3) Estrada 4) Rogers 5) Peralta
