Marcum and Greinke were both slight overpays, but I don't see how one can say we overpaid for Sabathia... Matt LaPorta has been a bust, and Michael Brantley doesn't have ideal pop for a corner OF.

Had we signed Rollins, we'd have to give up a first round pick; i'd rather have Ramirez without giving up that first round pick
  3. RWeeksFan23
I've been saying Baltimore all along, and I'm sticking with it
  4. RWeeksFan23
Kottaras, Counsell, Gomez, J.D. Drew, C. Snyder
  5. RWeeksFan23
    Ryan Ludwick or Josh Willingham

It makes no sense for us to keep KRod for all that money, I'd rather pay him the $2-3 mil to not be on the team. I think a trade to Boston for Marco Scutaro makes all the sense in the world.
  7. RWeeksFan23
Aren't you the one who always talks about how highly you value athleticism?
  8. RWeeksFan23
I wonder what it would take to get Scutaro or Lowrie, I'd rather have one of them than any free agent SSs.
  9. RWeeksFan23
We'd lose our first round pick if we signed ARam correct?
  10. RWeeksFan23
Well to be fair, he's coming off an awful season.
  11. RWeeksFan23
I thought I read somewhere the Brewers won't be bidding on him
  12. RWeeksFan23
Is Logan Morrison really that much better/different of a player than Mat Gamel?
  13. RWeeksFan23
Maybe his stats wouldn't have looked THAT bad if Roenicke started him at SS against RHP on a semi-regular basis. It's not easy producing when you're given like one at bat per week.
  14. RWeeksFan23
Either sign Clint Barmes, or trade Randy Wolf to WAS for Ian Desmond.
  15. RWeeksFan23
Wooooooooo, no more Provus! So glad I don't have to listen to that guy any more
  16. RWeeksFan23
I don't think any of those three teams will be in the Fielder sweepstakes. The only team I can think of that makes sense for Prince is Baltimore.
  17. RWeeksFan23
Why does everybody like Provus? His voice is annoying, and the way he says "gonzalez" annoys me too.
  18. RWeeksFan23
I can't stand Corey Provus, I hope he takes that job. I miss Jim Powell being our other radio guy, he was much better.
  19. RWeeksFan23
rockcocougars, what brewers player is that in your avatar?
  20. RWeeksFan23
Problem is Loney's not a free agent. The Dodgers won't non-tender him either after the last couple months he's had, he's been hot.
  21. RWeeksFan23
Yeah, I'm in agreement about Votto. He scares me more than any other hitter in the NL, even more-so than Pujols. In the AL, A-Gone and Bautista would probably scare me a hell of a lot too.
  22. RWeeksFan23
I agree with pretty much every word, TheCrew07. Just out of curiousity though, why aren't you too keen on platoons?
  23. RWeeksFan23
Nobody thinks Gamel can replace Fielder's production. He can replace part of Fielder's production and the rest can be made up in other areas. Mainly SS and 3B. Fielder is one of the worst 1B in the league. Without knowing anything about Gamel we could safely assume he would be an improvement on defense. WE know a little more than that. Mainly that he is athletic, compared to Fielder, and most of his problems on defense are problems throwing. Moving him to 1B puts him where he will not have to throw much. That's what I would do. That would be the goal anyway. I don't think Saito and Hawkins will return. Why don't you think Saito and Hawkins will return?
  24. RWeeksFan23
Any chance Casey McGehee is non-tendered?

I'd try to trade Marcum in a package for a good young shortstop and a good young pitcher.
