  1. Anybody but Presley, just don't understand why he spent so much time on the major league roster.
  2. Blazek has a 4.39 ERA, a 5.10 FIP, and a 1.838 WHIP. He shouldn't be anywhere near a pressure situation. He's nearing DFA worthy status. Yep and that's why I don't understand why Blazek was Counsell's choice to pitch the 8th inning in a winnable one-run game the other night. I get that Will Smith may not have been available, but anybody at this point is a better option than Blazek.
  3. Not to mention Will Smith has been overused because of him being the only lefty. That said, not sure Kirkman is the answer though.
  4. It wouldn't be a big loss, I think Presley should have been DFA'd weeks ago.
  5. Is Jhan Marinez still alive? Feels like he hasn't pitched in weeks.
  6. Is Clint Coulter injured?
  7. I've never heard of half of these guys, and the ones I do know are way past their prime. Most of these guys never had a prime.
  8. What more does Matt Clark have to do to earn a fair look at 1B? Cheap, left-handed, somewhat young, has power, and from what I remember, decent plate discipline.
  9. .212/.286/.319 Seemed to play much better the last month or so of the season when he was getting regular at-bats, maybe that's all he needed. I mean don't get me wrong, chances are he will still be a bad hitter going forward, but we're not making the playoffs anyway.
  10. If we want a short-term natural CF who can play good defense and hold down the position until Phillips is ready, why did we non-tender Logan Schaefer?
  11. I wonder how Craig Counsell would do in the role.
  12. The Mariners are gonna regret this a couple years from now, 34 years old signing a four year contract, the second half of this contract will look bad.
  13. I actually thought LaRoche would get three years, due to the demand for 1B these days.
  14. Its not necessarily about the outlier season for him, its the fact that he's like 7 years younger than Ramirez, can switch-hit, play great defense, and most importantly, get on-base. This team needs a guy like Headley.
  15. Giving Ramirez a multi-year deal would be incredibly foolish, I see very little chance he's a productive player two years from now.
  16. This. Roenicke abused the hell out of Thornburg and Smith, and it ended up being a huge reason we missed out on the playoffs.
  17. I like the moves you made, but LaRoche is probably gonna cost more than 2/24 I'd think, especially with how 1B play is down across baseball.
  18. Sign Chase Headley 3 yrs/30 mil, Norichika Aoki 2 yrs, 10 mil, Emilio Bonifacio 2 yrs, 10 mil, Zach Duke 2 years, 10 mil RF Aoki (5) 2B Gennett (0.5) LF Braun (14.5) 3B Headley (10) C Lucroy (3) CF Gomez (8) 1B Clark (0.5) SS Segura (0.5) --------------- Bench-Davis (0.5) Bench-Schafer (0.5) Bench-Maldanado(1) Bench-J.Rogers (0.5) Bench- Bonifacio (5) SP- Fiers (0.5) SP-Peralta (0.5) SP-Lohse (11) SP-Garza (12.5) SP-Gallardo (13) -------------- RP-Estrada (4) RP-Broxton (9) RP- Jeffress (0.5) RP- Smith (0.5) RP-Thornburg or Henderson (0.5) RP- Nelson (0.5) RP-Duke (5) I'd like LaRoche to be signed, but it's probably gonna take at least 3 years, and the back end of that contract might not end well for the now-34 year old. At least Headley is a bit younger and can switch-hit, giving us an element to our offense we haven't had in a while.
  19. LaRoche is pretty ideal for us. Not only is he a left-handed hitter, which we never have enough of, but he also gives you a pretty good walk rate.
  20. Roenicke's a terrible manager, but I doubt he gets fired. He just signed an extension and he seems to be well-liked by MA and DM.
  21. And far better command.
  22. I don't even know who Wagner is, Jungmann has no upside whatsoever, and Lopez isn't the greatest of prospects, I would have zero issue with trading any of those guys for a nice upgrade like Carp.
