  1. I like the idea of Carp, he'd be a perfect fit and shouldn't cost too much to get in terms of prospects.
  2. Yeah, I think it was pretty much one or the other they'd trade (Davis/Duda), not both.
  3. Speaking of lefty swinging 4th OFers, like I mentioned in another thread, a good guy to go after for that role is Bobby Abreu. He'd be a really nice fit for this team and would cost virtually nothing to get.
  4. What about Bobby Abreu? Veteran left-handed bat that gets on base, gives you good at-bats, has a little pop. Would be useful especially with how poor our backup OFs have been.
  5. Eric Chavez would've been perfect if it wasn't for his latest injury.
  6. When I first saw he got DFA'd, I was all for the idea, but after seeing his stats this season, he's been pretty underwhelming. Not only is his batting average low, his walk rate isn't as good as it was in the past either.
  7. And had really lame home run calls I should add.
  8. I don't know why most people loved Provus so much, what was so special about him? His voice was like nails on a chalkboard.
  9. Butler's not a bad hitter, but adding yet another RH bat in the lineup probably isn't the best idea.
  10. I'm in agreement with the OP. If the plan is to 'go for it' this season, I think the bullpen could hold this team back. If they're expecting Kintzler to replicate his numbers from last season, they're gonna be disappointed. He's due for regression, wouldn't even be surprising if his elbow is hanging on by a thread based off how much he was overused by our genius manager last season. Basically our bullpen is Henderson, and a bunch of 'just-guys'.
  11. I'm surprised that's all he got. It seemed like half the league was interested in him, and you'd think a team would pay him quite a bit because of his upside.
  12. And thecrew07 thinks WE'RE an old team, lol.
  13. I'd say being tired is valid, he almost never got a day off this season it seemed like. It's a long season. Plus just flat out regression.
  14. I was higher coming into the season on Davis than seriously anybody, that said, he's getting seriously overrated 'round here. He's clearly not going to maintain this kind of production over a full season. He's not an everyday player, at least not unless the rest of the team is rediculously good.
  15. If Ramirez is our 1B next year, what do you do with Morris, Gamel, and Halton? We have an abundance of 1B even excluding Ramirez being in the mix.
  16. If I was them, I'd rather roll with a Schumaker/Ellis platoon than trade for a highly overpaid Weeks.
  17. Why is Walla still in Wisconsin? Pretty sure he deserves to be in at least Brevard County by now.
  18. Plus then what would you do with Hunter Morris?
  19. But on the flip side, waiting to trade Gallardo till the offseason or next year's trading deadline may not be smart either because he'd have less team control. And i'm sure it's not as if teams know he's better than his stats indicate this year. I say the sooner he's traded, the better.
  20. Detroit maybe, he'd be an upgrade in LF over Dirks. Or the Rangers to be their CF.
  21. I'm surprised you have Thornburg ahead of Hellweg, considering each of their stats at AAA this year, and since you've said in the past how concerned you are about how many extra base hits/home runs Thornburg gives up.
  22. I haven't seen anybody make this comparison, but he reminds me of Skip Schumaker.
  23. Is it me or is most of that positive stuff it said about Gallardo in that scouting report not even true any more?
  24. Doug Melvin does realize that Jesus Sanchez exists right?
