  1. We are one game away from the biggest game of the year. If we ever get to one under .500 I will be amazed. Actually, it seems like we are winning and winning and winning, but are still under .500. I think the reason is that we lose 5 in a row and everybody says 'that is what we should expect'; then we win 2 out of 3, 2 out of 3, 2 out of 3, then split 4 games... and we are all happy, happy, but still bloody well under .500. I wanna win 6 or 7 in a row NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Boy, Ned really cannot win on this site. Unbelievable. Is it the end of the world if Fielder doesn't bat or JDLR doesn't pitch tonight? What you other guys said. Ned needs to take advantage of laughers. Maybe we were never up 10 runs before and he is confused.
  3. Fair question: does Cappy have the stuff to be a legit number two guy? You guys can see. I will rely on your opinions.
  4. Well this is pleasant. Beckett is on today for my fantasy team... and still this is so, so pleasant. We have a real baseball team. Soon only two game below .500.
  5. My opinion is that Krynzel should be the left hand defensive 5th outfielder in Milwaukee next year. In fact, I guess he would get quite a few starts in center (I am hoping Clark is traded). I am for having our five outfielders be Lee/Jenks/Krynzel/Hart/Cruz. So, c'mon Dave, get to .270 if you can, and we can breathe a little easier.
  6. If we have 11 games left, and we're 10 out of the WC, and we're behind 7 teams, there's still going to be people that think we might pull it out. Such is the hope of any sports fan I guess. no way, we are not stupid, there would have to be at least a dozen games left my belief is that we are now dead; we needed to win 3 of 4 at Houston; but lazarus came back from the dead; but Jesus Yost is not managing us at this stage
  7. .500 has been, still is and should be the goal this season. The WC is a pipe dream. The Brewers just aren't good enough, plain and simple. Is it you Doug? But, Doug, you and Ned and Mark even pointed out that we should be above .500 and we still had a chance. And now you come onto this website (under a secret name) and tell us REALLY what the agenda is. Shame, Doug, shame. Doug, I would prefer you let us dreamers dream a little. We know there is not much chance. But we do not want a leader who is satisfied with mediocracy. Doug, we want the team to continue to improve. And we do not mean 1 game a year over the next 20 years to THEN compete. In any case, thank you for logging on and so clearly telling us the organisational goals and timetables. We appreciate your time.
  8. Ned, I think you are doing a good job managing lately. It is almost like there have not been too many things we can complain about, and the games have been close. Today was super. I really agreed with Ben staying in. But I notice one poster said Ben lost the two decisions this year after high pitch counts. So, I will be so interested to see how he goes next start. Well, Crew. You have no hope in the wild card.... but why dont you win tomorrow and at least let us wonder a little. This team is so good to watch right now. They never get blown out (hardly ever) and they are seeming to be developing some good, good attitude and mental toughness.
  9. re Rogers, I am glad I was one of the critics... not of him, but of high school pitching drafted high up. So many college pitchers get drafted and perform quickly and even become stars... it seems to me to be a complete waste of money and then followup resources to pour down the drain. What I do not understand is this: we drafted a guy who cannot throw a strike. Don't you think if we WERE to draft high school pitchers, we would draft the ones that could throw a ball straight. We should be drafting the high school pitchers lower down and overpaying a little slot money so they sign. Since it is a lottery, why dont we buy more tickets -and cheaper
  10. ok, I said if we won the last at Rockies and won 3 of 4 we still had an in but tonight was sad, as we could have go to within 4, I think. It was a two game swing, either 6 back or 4 back (or 'about' that - I know Philly lost and Wash lost, but Florida and Mets won)... if we had won it would have been crazy, about 4 teams together with the mets next and us. And we really could have been up a few, with more hits AGAIN, but only up by one. In the end we just lost in a bullpen v bullpen game. But, I will buy in... if we win the next two... ok But I just want to see us use the guys that we can see will be with us in 2 or 3 years
  11. It amazes me how these athletes get to the top with so much self belief. Then they go in a game and nerves get them. Ha ha. But it is life. I cannot wait for one high school guy we drafted name Inman to make it to Milwaukee. That guy's attitude was built to be here. A combo of Unit and Schilling. You can follow his exploits in the minor league thread from time to time.
  12. It is all about development now. Ned pulled all the right strings. Let us show them our 21 year old lefty with 'stuff'. And now bring in the young righty that throw 98mph. Let us have fun the rest of the year. Let us practice for next year. Let us play 'clean', smart baseball. We really do have a decent team to follow for at least the next 3 to 5 years. When could we say that before.
  13. imagine ending your season by letting five punch and judy hitters reach base in a row after two were out; amazing; sad; i was here at the start, and now I can watch the finish; for me now, it is now all about developing the youngsters; we had a slim chance, but we will be too far back now, this one stumble was too much the sad thing we went down giving up walks and blooper singles.... darn
  14. Darn, darn, darn. I wonder if Davis is giving himself a free ticket for the offseason. He just could, could not fail is this situation. Well, at least not fail by having no control. Darn. This game was so big. IS so big. We would make ground on three of the 5 teams in front of us. If we lose, it could be the end of our season. Darn. I am sad.
  15. Did Ned make them put the batter in first, before changing Doug. I hope Ned did not put in Davis THEN let them pinch hit with a lefty.
  16. Man oh man we walk a guy with one home run in 275 at bats. Darn. Good job, though, Doug. We only gave you one run, but you kept us in front.
  17. I agree with the Branyan for lead off post a while back. Corey should not bat two in my opinion. Let the guy relax down at 6 or 7. If Branyan must be down there, then I think Hall should bat two. In any case, a small point, I guess, and Russ will come up with bases loaded in the first, so I will be proven wrong again.
  18. Does anyone see Him. I am looking at the clouds waiting for Jesus. By the way, we picked up ground on the THREE lead wild card teams today. And they said it could not be done. (but I think there are now FOUR teams about 5 game in front of us; but what the heck, we have no chance, but let us win a game tomorrow!)
  19. help someone, sporstline game day cannot understand or handle the Crew chasing Clemens. It is all mixed up. Prince is now batting for Houston. And it refuses to update any plays whilst Milwaukee is in front.
  20. We have a three run lead late in the game. And now, it's anyone's ballgame ha, ha; life as a brewerfan
  21. I am pretty sure this did not happen. All the evidence I can gather says NO it did not happen. Some evidence says it is happening, but I still am not willing to believe it.
  22. Wow, this team is going to tease us right to the end. Kind of like an Anna Nicole Smith act. Tomo, wow, great job. I was wrong, you should have stayed in. Now I am worried, they are giving me some hope. Guys on base nobody out... oh, hope gone again. Relax, hoffy.
  23. 94 pitches, it is not like he is dominating (Ohka), but doing a nice job he should have been pinch hit for mind you, if we score zero or minus 1 it does not matter; but it would be nice to give Tomo a pat on the back and see what our bull pen can do after we lose today, we are one loss in the next three days away from the end of our (slim) playoff chance; then we can settle down to just playing good baseball and trying to develop youngsters all in all, a satisfying year
  24. I think Ned did good. Capellan now has erased all the terribleness of the other night. It was a risk. If he blows up, he may take a long time to get his nerve back. But the move works, Cappy2 is a happy camper. Cappy1 is a happy camper. Do you let Cappy2 face a batter in the nineth and see what happens? How about some runs DUDES!
  25. I am happy Ned went for a righty. But strange, based on one days performance he goes Cappy2 and not Davis. Is Ned trying to install confidence... or is is... no.... no... a NEW favourite.
