Well with the way they have been looking a the plate tonight, combined with the Cardinals ability to score at will tonight, 7-8 runs are going to be needed and I just dont see another 6 run inning in them tonight. I hope I am wrong but I just dont see it tonight.

Don't forget that Yo is pitching too. 99 percent seems a bit high. Factoring in Gallardo's success against the Cardinals this year and the energy of the first game at home for them.

I agree that its just hyperbole. I think he is just making a statement about the chances of signing Fielder more then about the chances of signing Reyes. -

All of the bashing of Kotsay is misplaced and downright misguided. You would have to go about 5-6 deep on the list before you get to Kotsay. For what he is being used for right now, he is above average. Look at other bench players in the league and you will see that he is well above average. As a starter no, but as a bench player, he has excelled expectations. To say anything different, you just have a ingrained bias that will never change, no matter the evidence proving otherwise. And to bring Kotsay up in a Gamel thread is pointless too, seeing that they play different positions.

You can also take away that there are players on that team that feel entitled and are immature. Its not Don's job to make friends, its his job to prepare them for the majors. The article appears to be a "can lead a horse to water..." type situation.

It pretty refreshing to see that they have a no non sense guy as essentially the gate keeper at AAA. It also confirms the feeling most of us had that Gamel doesnt have the maturity yet and also in a sense vindicates Macha for the "mistreatment" that others vilified Macha with. I would really like to know what he would have said to Lawrie had he made it to AAA. Along those lines, I would love to know how he feels about Harper.

I agree, I to want them to make the playoffs, I am just not sure what would be worse, missing or getting swept. Getting swept is basically the same as not making them at all.
