  1. According to Bill, everyone gets to play. When did the Brewers become a little league team? Does the team go to Shakey's after the game for pizza?
  2. same pitch he has gotten everyone tonight. You think they would have moves over a bit knowing he is going to throw nothing but stuff on the outside.
  3. They just let Hawkins ask Stan if Mary Jane was a favorite candy of his?!? Someone is probably getting an ear full right now.
  4. For his current role, he is a perfect bench player. As long as he PHs and only plays once a week(in corner) he is what you want in a bench player. Remember, it is easier to have a older vet on the bench, because they are more likely to accept the role and tend to know how to handle it and how to prepare. Most dont understand the importance of the mental portion of being a bench player. There is no way at this point I want Gamel in a high leverage position late in a game over Kotsay.
  5. I MISSED A TRIPLE PLAY? That's the last time I let my wife go to book club and leave me to get the kids down to bed by myself on a game night. The quote Jack Black in Tenacious D - The search for inspirado. "always press record, always press record." I would link the video, but there are naughty words. Also in the clip the line, sometimes you have to run with the Wolves, seems appropriate.
  6. They will end up signing late, like the rest of the unsigned players. If we get to the final hour tomorrow night, then you can start worrying.
  7. Wilson Valdez, Ben Fransico, Ross Gload and Michael Martinez. Not exactly murders row. While better then McGehee, Placido Palanco isnt exactly lighting the world on fire. I think Kotsay needs to be left out. For being a back up corner outfielder/PH, he has done just fine. Yes you would want more power and he shouldnt play CF, but I dont think you can leave him in the same conversation with Counsel and Lopez and Wilson.
  8. Still waiting for Hairston to do something to earn the love that he gets around here.
  9. Nope. And I feel the same way about Betancourt, Kotsay, and Counsell too. I have even less confidence that a rookie, who has never seen those pitchers, would have even more success.
  10. Not exactly the best first inning by Peralta, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt for a first time AAA starter.
  11. Um what, how often will the 2nd baseman get to a ball 2 steps to the 1B's right? You get everything you can and let the pitcher cover the base. With a dead pull hitter and the defense they had lined up, you let the 2nd basemen handle the ball and worry about getting back to first. I was always taught that anything 1-2 steps to the right is fine, but if I have to stride to let it go. A good 2nd baseman will be able to get there, unless the defense is turned over towards short. I would also add, when you are a glovesmith like Prince, just let those go.
  12. Actually, Bill, having played the positions for 20 years, you do not try to get everything you can get. Anything from you to the bag is yours and anything beyond a step to your right is the 2nd basemans. It is better for you to cover the bag then hope that the pitcher will get there and the throw will hit him on stride.
  13. This is like opening the PS3 first then opening the socks last on Christmas morning. Sure you are off the wall excited about the PS3, but it was all down hill from there.
  14. at this point it looks like it doesnt matter who is playing behind him, Gallardo is throwing BP.
  15. Lets hope room service is on time, if not that could really ruin the Brewers psyche.
  16. worst case, Brewers are still in first place after the next series. They will be fine.
  17. But what about a batter that never breaks his wrists, keeps that bat pointed bat at a 45 but his body spins around to avoid a pitch and the bat crosses the plate, which happens often. Its not called a strike but a computer might call it that way.
  18. Then you would have to define intent then, which the rule book does not do. Check swing is = PI in football. There is a rule, but no one really knows how to truly define it. Its like the old saying on porn, "i know it when i see it."
  19. The umpire can press a little button when the pitcher starts his throwing motion to activate the sensor. You didnt read what I wrote.
