  1. Awesome. Thanks for the information. How long was this beer in the works?
  2. IT's beer because it's brewerd with hops, barley to form a malt or mash or whatever the definition of "beer" is in terms of production. It is also brewed with lime and salt giving it the flavor it has. As someone else noted, Lambic beers have been brewed for a long time now. There is a wide array of flavors for beer. I'd agree it's not very good beer or a real beer drinkers beer. But it is beer in every sense of the word. It's basically Miller Light with these flavors brewed in, Chelada style. I'm willing to bet it's second run Miller Light though. Not a bad idea really. You can run the mash twice. Usually lower end beers are the second run of the mash. But now instead of selling this second run on the cheap, they can sell it as a premium beer. And since it's flavored, no one will be able to really tell the difference in flavor.
  3. It's called "Honey Berry" and has been invented by thousands of people years before Leinie's ever promoted it that way. As for Miller Chill, I had one tonight at a Mexican restaurant. Wasn't great but wasn't bad either. I wouldn't drink more than 1 in a sitting but it was kind of refreshing. Tasted OK with Mexican food. What I liked is it wasn't an overpowering taste. It was fairly mild and had a decent aftertaste that didn't linger too long. Overall the beer was decent and the kind of thing you might have from time to time on a hot day. But limit me to 1 of these before the real drinking begins. I generally don't like these kinds of things and this wasn't great, but it was decent.
  4. They're still playing basketball? Who knew? Did anyone actually watch the NBA Finals...or Playoffs for that matter? I just wasn't feeling it this year.
  5. The hardest part of the year is done! We don't play a team with a winning record until we face Arizona at home after All Star break. Almost all the hard teams come to our home the rest of the year. Things are looooooookin' up!
  6. Screw your company. Do what is best for YOU at all times. It's business, this is how it works. Go to work, do your best and produce the best value you can for your company. But when it comes time to get paid or whatever it is you value, make the decision that's best for you. Don't ever consider your companies feelings when deciding what YOU want to do. They have no feelings. There is no such thing as loyalty. Business doesn't work with these ideas or notions. Business works on the bottom line and it's up to you (think of yourself as You, Inc.) and your responsibility to what's best for you. Good work ethic has nothing to do with this concept of loyalty. Good work ethic is doing the job you're paid for morally and professionally. If you've made these commitments then you don't owe anyone anything.
  7. Heres a better stat for u. After the all star break, the brewers only play 4 Teams that currently have a record above .500, Mets, D-Backs, Braves, Padres. I feel pretty good about our chances after the allstar break with the talent we have only getting more experienced with Gallardo and Braun and the other guys just getting better. We may not play any tough teams but if we get into the playoffs after beating easier teams, the young guys will have confidence they can beat anyone. Holy cow, not only then but now! It's actually 5 teams though. We don't play a winning tema until after All Star now. As of today we have 30 series left. Only 6 of them are against teams that are currently above .500. (We play Arizona twice) Of course things can change, but it's a good place to be. The 5 +.500 teams are San Diego, Mets, Phillies, Arizona and Atlanta. Of these 6 series, 5 of them are at home! We've played the others on the road already and will play Arizona on the road too. So, this is something to really look forward to over all. We've already played teams that today have a winning record 7 times. 5 of those 7 have been on the road. We've lost 5 of those series and won 2. One home and one away. We were only swept once! I think we all might hvae over reacted some to the "rocky" stretch. It was a lot of good teams one after another and that really mounts on a team. Look forward to a nice summer. Also, the winning teams we have to play are spaced out some. I almost think these facts need a thread....
  8. That's too bad then, but that's business. People like cheap. Value to a lot of people isn't the relationship between cost and quality unfortunatly. It's simly cost. This is why Wal-Mart is the largest retailer in the country. And people will seriously fly with another airline because it saves them $10.00/flight more, even thought the quality is far less. It's too bad a truly good company that provided great service is going to be taken over by a company that doesn't care. There going to learn a tough lesson about why Midwest was so successful. It has a lot to do with the level and quality of service they provided. It had a lot to do with the overall "value" of their product. I fly Midwest almost exclusively because of the 2 across seating. I like a little more space and this is worth paying a little more money for in my opinion. In fact, I'd "rather" pay more money for this instead of a little less money to be on a cramped, smelly plane with low class people for 4 hours.
  9. Are they going to make all Midwest planes AirTran planes? That is, are they going to destroy the Midwest brand and everything that comes with it? Or are they just going to take over the company and retain the Midwest brand and accomodations (good service, 2 leather seats, etc)?
  10. Good point about the cats. They don't have much meat either I guess.
  11. Well, when you look at a pig or wild boar you see an animal that is fat. This means it's full of meat. Sounds like a good idea to eat it! Dogs don't really have much meat on them. Especially wild dogs. Compared to other animals that we eat anyways. Look at the animals we eat. They generally carry a lot of meat. There's a reason we call people who eat too much "cows" or "pigs". Because these animals naturally have a lot of body mass and volume relative to their displacement. This makes for good eating! As for horses? Well, they're a working animal. They were traditionally much more valuable as a worker than as food. They would pull plows, used for travel, etc. They aided in developing food and it was more practical to use them for this than to breed them for food. And when they die the meat won't be very good any longer as they worked hard their entire lives. This meat would then be given to the farm animals generally. There's usually very good reason for why things are as they are. It doesn't make sense to use an animal for food when it was much more valuable in so many other cases, including creating more food. Certain animals have a lot of meat and it's efficient to kill for food. And since they produce no really value to humans, using them as food is optimal.
  12. A lot of people thought they were Pearl Jam or some band from Seattle. Of course, this is one reason critics hated this band. I was a budding teenager at this time and really getting into rock music and I remember reading hate after hate for that band. But the people liked them and bought their albums. Core and Purple were pretty decent albums. "Dead and Bloated" was a great song. I know why the critics hated them (and Krist Novaselic called them "Stone Gossard Pirates"...I still laugh at this one!) as they sounded like a rip off band. Probably the first real Seattle rip off band. But they weren't too bad initially. The first time I saw them they opened for "Butthole Surfers" on their "Independent Worm Saloon" tour. BTW, that's an amazing album and it's highly recommended. It was a good show with the "Flaming Lips" opening for STP and STP for the Surfers. This was of course very early on for STP as Plush just hit. Withen a year they were selling out arenas. This was a smaller show. The BBQ Barmitzvah I believe it was called.
  13. Jalepeno and provolone stuffed Italians are great.
  14. That's the thing. We got no hit against one of the best young pitchers in the league. Justin Verlander is the real deal. If it was some shmuck who did this I'd be a little angry. But you can't get too mad when the guy was throwing 101 (according to espn) and had that amazing slider and curve going. Tomorrow is another game.
  15. I love the pink! I agree that Yost is just hustling here. The idea was let them get a no hitter in game one. The teams going to go out and celebrate this one, get drunk and have a bad hangover tomorrow. Then Cappy will easily win. The rubber match comes down to Sheets dominating and we win again, thus taking the series. This is brilliant work by Yost!
  16. Have fun with your young 20's. I did and still appreciate it now. don't feel rushed into anything. Enjoy life for what it is and what you want ti to be. Experiment and be free. Good luck!
  17. Very interesting. Thank you! One of those things I've always wondered about when I didn't have a computer handy to look up.
  18. Flying over IL is boring, I can only imagine driving it. It's seriously 100% flat and has miles and miles of grid roads. All perfect, little squares. Quite a sight from the sky.
  19. I don't know about Direct TV. The box is the descrambler for the signal. As for regular old cable though, as long as you have cable ready TV's and you modulate the cable, you can send the signal to multiple TV's in the house.
  20. LOL, Candlebox. Yeah, I agree, they were easily the most accomplished, important and influential band to come from Seattle. Man, I'm not sure how they got on the gravy train. Talk about right place right time. And just how did Mudhoney not make it big but they did? Oh yeah, Mudhoney was too drunk to realize it was time to cash in. Long live Mudhoney. Oh, and Candlebox too. hahaha.
  21. In that case, yes. I'd just use a modulator.
  22. I believe STP was from southern California, not Seattle.
  23. Casey, I'm not sure what you're talking about. The cable works is every channel is being sent your at once. So if you have cable ready TV's, you can split the cable so to speak (not literally, but through a modulator) and run them to separate TV's and everyone can watch what they want. If your TV's aren't cable ready(which means they were made in the 1980's) then you need cable boxes to do this. Digital cable is a little different in that TV's aren't digital cable ready. But the cable line still has every channel being sent through at once. So if you have one digital cable box you can watch digital cable on one TV but also run the line to other TV's and watch regular, old cable. This is the nature of cable. They are sending you every channel at once. You select the channel you want to view. If the cable is modulated then you can watch another channel simultaneously because you have another output.
  24. uecker9, what bands did you play with?
  25. Watch the movie "Hype" if you want to know anything about Seattle music from the early 1980's until the mid 1990's.
