  1. Gypcasino and RockCoCougars are correct. If you can't see why they're correct then you might need to lean some social skills. You need tact and you need to be thoughtful. Now, after reading MilwaukeeSportsFan latest post, that it is his job, I have to ask why he even got mad? Why take it personally that this guy ignored you? You were nice to ask him to move. But your job is to enforce. So when he didn't move and he told you so why not just walk away and get him a ticket. YOU made a professional job personal and were affected by it. It is YOUR fault you're angry by it all. You need to be more professional in your job and not take things so personally. You were a nice guy to let this jerk know what's up. But the fact his response bothered you is your fault. If it really is your job to enforce these things then act professionally and simply call the police or whoever when you judge is correct. Confronting people isn't your job. So when you make it personal, don't be surprised when the other person is put off. Your job is to enforce the parking rules. Confrontation isn't good for anyone. Afterall, it's your job.
  2. Definitely a little of both and it's great. When you beat the hell out of a couple balls like that, you have the right to maybe take a pose and admire your work. He's young and new but it's clear he's an MLB player and he knows it. Personally, I love it. You need to go in with respect for those that are there and to also make sure they know you belong. The way he's playing, it's without a doubt. So yes, he's a little of both and it's OK. It's not like he's not doing it and then acting like a jerk after finally getting a hit. He's killing guys all the time since he's been up here.
  3. They have to feel humiliated after giving that game away last night. I expect them to come out hard and not leave 234298475348 RISP.
  4. Thanks for the clarifications on capital gains.
  5. BikeAge, Right now is basically the worst time in the last 20 years to sell a house. The market has really fallen flat on its face some so you're not going to get what you would have gotten a year ago. I'd seriously reconsider selling your house now. Especially if you're on a tight schedule. You're not going to get what you should. Also, I can't imagine you've had your house for 5 years. If you buy a house and sell it before you've owned it for 5 years, you pay a capital gains tax. So this is even less you'll get for the house overall. Right now is about the worst time to buy a house. A lot of people bought houses a few years ago believeing the housing market would keep booming and would sell around now. Well, now there is a lot mroe supply than demand. It's a terrible time to be a seller and a good time to be a buyer. Why are you so broke? Did you quit teaching?
  6. Well, if it's your job to check where people are parking and alerting them and then the police, then fine....I didn't know you were a parking checker. If it's "your job" (you're paid to do this) then you aren't doing the right thing. You're doing your job. But it sounds like you're just another office drone and you were bothered by someone else and leveraged power on them or something. People generally don't like it when people approach them like this. I was saying it's none of your business to tell people where to park. If you see someone parked illegally, then call the police. But it's not very tactful to go up to them and threaten to call the police because of where they're parked. YOU end up looking like the jerk then. If you feel the need to approach him then do it the right way. You might be right but that doesn't mean the publics perception of you (your coworkers) will agree. I've worked in offices and know office culture well enough that most people would call you a trouble maker and an annoyance. Yeah, this guy was parked like a jerk no doubt. But most people would handle it differently if it bothered them by letting them know there are some really handicapped people who need it. Or passively by calling the police without letting anyone know. But going up to a guy and saying you're going to call the cops if they don't move their car creates a confrontation. People don't like confrontations. And since everyone will see you creating a confrontation, you'll be labeled the jerk.
  7. You know it's going to be in a hip hop video soon. Of course, it'll be painted and have gold trim and hydraulics. And probably a mounter turret.
  8. To be frank, it's none of your business. You could call a parking checker but that's about where your involvement ends. We have peoples whose jobs it is to check these things and write tickets. It's not your job to tell people you're calling the police because of where they are parked. And the fact that he's a coworker...could make for a bad work environment. Sometimes you just have to let things go. We had a person at my work who parked like an idiot for awhile and we would joke about this person and everyone thought less of them because of this behavior. If you feel like you really have to say something to this person, don't threaten them. Tell them how you feel about it and tell other workers, in a more or less light hearted manner about it. You need to have tact I guess is what I'm saying.
  9. Sounds kind of silly to trade away a prospect like Inman who could potentially serve 6 or more great years with the team for a guy who will be gone this year.
  10. What a crappy day. Pooring on the way to work with accidents all over, a semi truck crashed on the interchange and now a plane crashed in the lake. Should have stayed home today.
  11. Natural progression form the SUV.
  12. That's a good lineup and what I like to see. What a smoking lineup when Weeks comes back! Put him in the 5 or 6 spot and away we go!
  13. They ruined her golf game. And this is what is really important to her. Take the money and run, fine. But with a successful golf career she would have a lot more than that. Those endorsements would be a spit in the bucket. They were smart to maybe take advantage of endorsements right away in case she never panned out. But they made a short term decision then. It's not always about the money, either. They ruined her game and her ability to maybe be happy. They ruined her earning potential as well.
  14. 1. Corey Hart- RF 2. JJ Hardy- SS 3. Ryan Braun- 3B 4. Prince Fielder- 1B 5. Rickie Weeks- 2B 6. Bill Hall- CF 7. Geoff Jenkins- LF 8. Johnny Estrada- C 9. Ben Sheets- P
  15. Sheets is awesome. There's no other way around it.
  16. The Cavs would be unstoppable with Redd. Because the Bucks' future looks bleak (I'm still on a lottery hangover) I almost wish they would just trade him to the Cavs for some draft picks or something and expiring deals down the road or something. OK, not really. But it's frustrating being a Bucks fan lately. Also, does anyone think we have a chance at winning the division over the next 5 years? I mean, we could get lucky or something.... But you to believe Chicago has about a 4 year run set up and the Cavs are limitless at this point. The Pacers are in a bigger hole than us at least and Detroit is only getting older. I'm just not sure the Cavs and/or Bulls won't be the two main teams in this division for the next 5 years or so. And really, the Cavs might be unbeatable over this span.
  17. Turnbow is really great when he can throw strikes and work the slider. When that's not working he has nothing else and he's very hittable. Yost just has to keep the leash short with him and get him out of there when he can't throw a strike.
  18. Go Cavs. I hate the Spurs for so many reasons. What's scary is what will happen if the Cavs actually get good players one day? LeBron is the best in the NBA but really, who else is even decent on that team but Big Z? I don't want to imagine an Eastern Conference with a Cavs team with good players. They're loaded for 8 championships.
  19. And Corey Hart sits. Lineups from USA Today: Gwynn Hardy Braun Fielder Estrada Jenkins Gross Counsell Capuano I called it right on! I put Jenkins ahead of Estrada but figured Yost would do it the other way. I had the players and the lineup! I rule! Ned Yost rules!
  20. If those splits mean anything to you Miller should be starting over Estrada. I disagree completely. Miller has had some good success against him in 4 or 5 AB's, but that's a trend that is sure to...ummmmmm....even out a little. Estrada is a switch hitter and would bad lefty. This pitcher, over the last 3 years, has a vast difference in what right handed and left handed hitter do to him. Over the last 3 years for Kim, here's a breakdown (he has faced 2 more lefties than righties, so it's very equal): Right: AVG:.252&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp OBP:.311 SLG:.401 OPS:.712 HR: 14 SO:155 BB:55 Left: AVG:.316 OBP:.405 SLG:.509 OPS:.914 HR:22 SO:95 BB:84 This guy is very much above average against righties and very much below average on lefties. I think this speaks for itself.
  21. seems like a wisconsin fan to me Or a rational basketball fan. He really isn't that good. He's undersized and can't shoot. But he doesn't dominate like TJ Ford did in college. Wisconsin fan or not, he wasn't even initially asked to go to pre-draft workouts. No one thinks he's NBA caliber at this point and it's perfectly fair to ask if he ever will be. I like him his freshman year and thought he had potential. Some over eager Marquette alum got a little carried away I thought. He needs more seasoning and it's painfully obvious hes making a mistake even trying to play with the big boys right now.
  22. You got to go with the lefties tonight. Hell, we even got lucky our left handed hitting pitcher is going tonight. I\It's tricky, to start Corey Hart or not...he's been good lately and really rolling. But Gwynn hasn't played in a few nights and if you're going to play him, this is the night to do it. Probably bench Hall and Hart tonight and use Gwynn and Gross. This keeps the other two rested for tomorrow also. Gwynn (lefty) (CF) Hardy Braun Fielder (lefty) Jenkins (lefty) Estrada (lefty) Gross (lefty) (RF) Counsell (lefty) Cappy (lefty) How could you not go with that? And then when they bring in the bullpen we can make late game changes into our righties. You have to play the splits here. This is the perfect opportunity to rest some guys and give other guys a chance. The ultimate platoon lineup. Seriously, look at the guys splits. Hes faced about the same (40 left, 44 right) this year and its an amazing difference. Against righties the guys better than Pedro in his prime. On lefties the guy shouldn't even be in MLB. He looks like he's the kind of guy you want out of the pen to handle a couple righties.
  23. I hate all Leinie's products, it is all bad beer. Leinie's was considered third rate beer for a long time. It was classified with the likes of Huber. But they got smart and started to market it well. Their timing was great as they caught the mico brew craze at just the right time. So, bad beer got more advertising and better marketing and all of a sudden it became good beer. Leinie's has been ahead of the curve usually too. Leinie's Red came out a hair before the whole red beer craze started in the early 90's. Remember all the different red beers? And then they made Berry Weiss which was way ahead of the "malternitives" and a good way to hide the taste of second run beer. Instead of selling the second and third runs of a beer as a low end brand, as most companies do (Busch is second run Bud, MB is second run Miller, etc) they add flavorings to it. Now something that is cheap becomes something that is highly profitable. Even their Honey Weiss was a little ahead of the weiss beer craze. Now Weiss' are huge with the likes of Spotted Cow locally demonstrating this fashionable flavor. Personally I don't like Weiss as it's so sweet and lacking any "hoppy" taste. And now they're taking the formula even further. They're a smart marketing and branding company more than a good brewery. I give them credit for being ahead of the curve and appealing to the non beer drinker and beer drinker alike.
  24. I thought the Berry Weiss was at least tolerable. They've made some pretty bad beers lately like the Sunset Wheat and now this Summer Shandy crap. A single Berry Weiss was always fun to drink. Obviously getting plowed on them doesn't sound like a good idea. But really, I like the taste of beer. I like to taste the hops. I'm not certain why one would want to alter the taste of it to make it sweet and fruity. That's why we have wine coolers and the other things like "Mike's Lemonade", etc. The bitterness and rich array of potential flavors of the barley, hops and grain are what I love about beer. From Optimator ro MGD.
  25. It's pretty gross but it's good to give to the ladies who will invariably drink too much of this sweet beverage and become putty in your hands. Buy it for the ladies I guess. They love the fact that beer is masked with something else sweet.
