  1. Interesting hearing the rip at Counsell who obviously is a good fielder and he goes 2-4 which was better than every starter outside of Prince. Cameron and Hart who have hit horribly this September receive no mention and go 0-8.
  2. Held back on criticism on Sveum's moves last night? If Ned would have led off Cameron and he would have swung at the first pitch then only get worse would you be all over Ned or....Are you on Sveum or maybe you see it is the players? Ned? Sveum? Cameron?
  3. DM has mentioned he doesn't know how to fix it and Ned didn't either so he is out. DM says it is on the players. I have always said it is on the players but now at least for 12 games fans need to look at the source of the problem and not Ned when they play poorly. As for Prince: How many public service events has he been to? He blew off the season tix holders. Immature or a many who is set in his unhappy ways? Arbitration will be ugly this year when he bases it on potential and last year while the Brewers could point out his defense and his attitude. Real ugly in the off season.
  4. With part of the reason being this collapse happened last year too I thought I would see how the players did from the beginning of Sept to now last year and compare it to this year and see if there is a reason they were 8-6 during this stretch last year and 2-11 this year: player: ave, HR- RBI/ ave, HR- RBI (07/08) Kendall: .186, 1-5/ Estrada .306, 1-8 Fielder: .239, 2-6/ .358, 7-12 Weeks: .303, 1-1/ .273, 2-3 Hall: .167, 0-1/ .269, 1-7 JJ: .190, 4-6/ .250, 2-4 Braun: .192, 1-2/ .294, 5-15 Cameron: .122, 1-2/ Jenkins: .308, 1-5 Hart: .176, 0-2/ .409, 3-9 This year they knocked in 25 runs/ In 07 they knocked in 55 runs What would have happened if we scored 30 more runs the last 13 games?
  5. Front loaded with 92 wins in 92 for Garner and end loaded with Yost having his best season in 08!
  6. In the last 14 days: Kendall: .186 1-5 (ave, Hr-RBI) Fielder: .218 2-14 (28 days) Weeks: .303 1-1 Hall: .167 0-1 JJ: .190, 4-6 Braun: .192, 1-2 .231 for 28 days Cameron: .122, 1-2 Hart: .176, 0-2 .229 for 28 games You can't fire all the players so Ned is gone!
  7. So Jack Z got the players so he should be the next GM if Doug Melvin is let go. Isn't it the players who if they could maintain their ability for a season, the one's who should have taken us to the playoffs? This is on the players imo.
  8. Interesting having Yount talk to Uek the second game of the double dip yesterday. I heard him say Prince is real close to turning it around. Hmmm then he's on the bench the next game. Anyone see that coming with Yount's interview?
  9. So if the hitting continues like this will Svuem get fired? I know they had to do something but if the hitters didn't crash we would be ahead of the Cubs!
  10. diamond box row 2: $95 for Division games $150 for nlcs $60 for tie breaker $255 for WS 10 preferred Parking $250 1 tie breaking preferred parking $10 $25 one time shipping and delivery $3705 for 2 tix for all the games possible Go Crew!
  11. Exactly endaround! Sure the excitement is lost but after CC's career it will show a no no. That is worth it in itself to make it right. As for the extreme nature of the call, that should not matter. They should look at this like they looked at the over turned play earlier this year. You can't say yeah it was a bad call then not change it because of the attention. The reasons continue to bother me. It was spinning. Does Webb really think if CC used his mitt the spin would have bothered him. It seems like he is using the bare hand as an excuse like that is the only way to make the play but that is not correct. That is the reason it was an error. Completely backward thinking. To say he needed to turn all the way around when it is a quarter turn should be brought up to him. That is just so inaccurate it's weird.
  12. Too bad osuniu! I was watching it with my family and am still sad. My kids were asking me if they were going to change it where I didn't have that answer. Every out the anticipation got better because we knew they "should" change it. I am still baffled by Webb saying CC had to turn "all the way around" Everyone try this. CC's back was to first base, he needed to get his chest to SS to throw. Stand with your back to first and turn all the way around. It's just wrong. His reasoning for toughness is inaccurate. It was a quarter turn and not all the way around. Spinning ball after 7 bounces when it didn't move direction? Come on.
  13. My problems with Webb is his explanation: "It was coming off the bat; it was a spinning ball, to the right of a left-handed pitcher." spinning ball? It was a jam job on a RH batter where the ball went to the left side. It bounced once on the dirt and 6 times on the grass with absolutely no deviation in direction. If CC uses the mitt it's an easy play Left-handed pitcher? That is a plus since CC falls off to the 3rd base side. "In my opinion, it's not an ordinary play to make. It was difficult both because of the spin and because he has to make the play and turn completely around." His reasoning is because of the spin? No spin He has to turn all the way around? What does that mean? CC's back is to 1st base and you see him do the quick footwork where he turns a quarter with his chest to SS to make the throw. Turn all the way around is a reason when his chest turned a quarter turn. Very weak!
  14. That might be true but how many times have they sent in a request for an overturn? Have they ever ruled on a situation like this before?
  15. I wonder how much it is about his attitude. The taxes, his dad, no meat, the contract, etc. He opted out of the season ticket holder bat signing they promised early in the season when the Brewers said "something came up" and we got Braun's bat signing instead. (not a bad trade off). When you hear the radio stations do events and read about signings you never see Prince involved. This has been an individual decision by him because you know the Brewers would love for him to promote baseball to the places they go to. Interesting mind set by a young man who is firm in his individual decisions.
  16. Classy quote from LaRoche! I saw Juan's and was with my family for this. I agree 100% with Ned that the official scorer robbed baseball of this no hitter! Over-rule it!
  17. I would like to know if some geared out stat source shows how many non-error bad plays Prince has. As for Howard I don't see him much but at 6'4" he has 7 inches on Prince which defensively is huge especially sideways when as mentioned prior Prince doesn't use his feet well to get the off target throws. A clubhouse leader who doesn't do the little things defensively might get noticed sometime from an infielder's error that should not have been. As for 7" yesterday I saw him nest to Tejada and they were equal. What makes it so much more noticeable and tiresome is watching Derreck Lee play the bag so well for the team we are trying to surpass.
  18. rlu you might be right but you know the coaches are constantly teaching him the correct way to do things. It appears he chooses not to do them whiich imo is worse than just being bad at defense. His lack of desire to improve to be mediocre makes me wonder why?
  19. I have been watching his d fade for awhile now and it is not just because he is short but for ex: Watch JJ and Billy get ready to defend. They are relaxed and take the two little steps to get on their toes when the pitcher throws the ball. Perfect fundmentally. Then look to the right side and you see Rickie do the same thing which brings us to Prince. Prince also is relaxed then gets into position by bending down a bit but not on his toes. That almost blew the game today when a high hopper was hit to him and he got back on his heals and butchered the play. It looked like he was surprised it was hit to him. So imo it is not his weight or lack of height that is his problem but his unwillingness to play defense like everyone else in the infield. His other little short cut is when he holds a runner on first he is edging off the bag even more now so when a throw is thrown over there it is like a catcher catching a throw from the outfield in front of the plate then reaching back thus taking too much time. Another team might spot this and get that little bit extra leadoff that could help them on those bang bang plays on steals. Fundamentally cheating because why? Anyone notice or have thoughts?
  20. RoseBowlMtg: Is the name of my mortgage company but it started out while going to school in Madison before and after 80 when we weren't that good. When passing girls up to the top of the bleachers was fun and allowed. When sneaking in blackberry brandy was pretty easy, when we would yell with the team down by 40: We came to see the band!: The yell RoseBowl came out anytime we did score or look like we had a chance to. RoseBowl is the ultimate and we lived it.
  21. Well according the Brewers he did: 07: Prince Fielder: 6'0" 260 lbs 08: Prince Fielder: 5'11" 270 lbs 09: ? I understand pro athletes fudging their height but come on. He doesn't realize a short power hitter will get extra props over a 6' power hitter. The Toy Cannon! Hack Wilson!
  22. craig he is incredible isn't he? Calling out Torre was interesting where I didn't know what he meant by saying he beat before. "Beat him" I wonder if Torre was wondering what he was talking about. Here are their career places: Torre managing: 77-81 Mets 82-86 Atl 90-95 Cards 96-2006 Yanks Barry's career: 86-92 Pitt 92-2007 SF Barry's playoff opponents: 90 Cin (No Torre there) 91: Atl (Torre left 5 yrs earlier) 92: Atl (6 yrs earlier) 97: Fla: (Torre was with Yanks) 00: Mets: (see above) 02: Atl: (Torre left 16 yrs earlier this was Barry's first playoff win) 02: St L: (Torre left 7 yrs earlier but at lease it was a win) 02: Ana: (Torre is close to Anna now) 03: Fla: (Nope) End of playoffs and no connection there. The only time Torre managed a team in Barry's division was from 90-92 1990: Pittsburgh won 95 games vs the Cards 67 1991: Pitt won 98 games vs the Cards 84 92: Pitt won 96 games vs the Cards 83. 1990-92 when Pittsburgh last had great teams were better than most every team and Barry calls our Torre saying he beat him in the past. We knew Barry wasn't much of a team guy but bringing back something from 90-92? Wow! There is no I in team Barry but there is a me!
  23. Now that is what we were looking for. Back to back! I thought I would dig back thru Sheets last 8 games since CC came. He pitched 50.2 innings: He had 36 shut out innings (71.1%) He had 11 1 run innings: (21.7%) He had 3 2 run innings: (5.9%) He had a 5 run inning: (1.97%) It doesn't look as bad if you break it down and looks better than Sheets won his first game is so long.
  24. Wow I didn't know this was Ned's fault. Ned protects his players and posters and wssp know this. What did you expect? Ned was going to rip a player? He has never done that. Big deal how he phrased it anyone surprised that Ned wasn't going to expand on this is not aware of how Ned handles his players. Ned believes in privacy and keeps things in house.
  25. Going back Sheets last 7 games: IP, H, ER 7, 9, 5 5.2, 8, 1 6, 5, 3 5, 9, 2 7, 4, 2 5.1, 11, 6 6, 6, 2 3 quality starts (6,5,3/ 7,4,2/6,6,2 2 almost but better than minimum quality starts: (5.2,8,1/ 5,9,2) 2 bad starts: (7,9,5/ 5.1,11, 6) Let's look at those two games: 7,9,5 7 games ago vs Colorado box score Colorado: 00011210x Milwauke: 000000000 3 hits Sheets pitched perfect for 3 innings then Col got to him slowly. 2 runs in 5 innings looks worse when yoo've scored 0 5.1,11,6 Cubs game box score: Cubs: 000105001 Milw: 000000001 Similar to other loss where Sheets gave up first run in 4th and got hit in the 6th where he got 0 run support. Even in Sheets 2 poor games he pitched well and if the Brewers were hitting might have hit some they could have gotten him out.
