  1. Anyone know why Mussina left after 2 innings!?!?!? The Yankees THIN THIN staff might have just gotten thinner??
  2. Looking at those Wild Card Standings can only make me think one thing: Tonight is so important because the Marlins are 2 games ahead of us in the Wild Card Race. Gotta love the April Wild Card Standings. (Don't get me wrong..I do!!)
  3. Well.....if you look closely at the back of that Jersey....the words Vanden Hurk are slowly changing to Cy Young. Sigh.
  4. I know they lost the first few games they wore them, but Hall hit the walk off homer on Mother's day in them and I believe they ended up around .500 in them.
  5. Everyone breath. Relax. The Crew can chip away at this. It's the 1st inning for crying out loud. If Bush can settle down and get through 4 or 5 innnings....I think we'll get to Hill. Go crew!!
  6. I would guess Miller starts Saturday after the night game on Friday followed by the noon start on Saturday.
  7. Woogie One request on the amazing template...... Could you put "hits" in a seperate category? So I dont have to add up the 2B, 3B, HRs and then subtract that number from their AB's to find out how many hits they have in how many at-bats? I know that batting average is the same thing, but i'd just like to see "so and so" is 4-9 or 5-39 or whatever. Thanks!! If not...no biggie.
  8. you guys act like Counsell is a Little Leaguer playing in the major leauges. The guy can hit a little. Just not much. Wow. come on Gabe!!
  9. um because he just ripped a single to load em up? haha Come on Counsell. Never a better time than the present to get hit #1 on the season.
  10. My heart says 11-10 Brewers win. My brain says. Pack it in and read about the 9-0 loss in the paper. Well back to the TV. Goin with my heart on this one. haha
  11. I really like the lineup tonight. I love when Gross leads off. I like having Hall ahead of Bell. On the flip side..I LOVE seeing Pierre and Izturis batting 1, 2. Could a team pick 2 worse guys in the league to try to get on base??
  12. Hey when you've followed them since 1985. (Basically everything post-world series). You just learn to deal with the struggles. I really do think this team is headed in the right direction. I think this team was headed to the post-season until they lost Hardy, Ohka, Sheets, Koskie, and now Weeks. I actually thought they were still in good shape until Weeks went down too. I really do think that they will have a week where they run off 6 or 7 in a row. Maybe that will be the last week in September when it is too late. But I think it's going to be this week. Starting tonight. At home. Against the Cubs. Why not us? None of the other teams really strike any fear in me. At all.
  13. I haven't been this excited for a series all season long. I'm so pumped to sit down tonight and watch the entire game. I think Ohka will be his usual solid self. We will take advantage of Marmol's wildness. This is a game that will propel us to our longest winning streak of the season. Let's go Brewers. Go Yost. Go Mench. Go Bell. Go Graffy.
  14. To look at a pitching matchup and assume a loss (Zambrano vs Bush) is just silly. Maybe Bush pitches great and gives up 1 run over 7 innings. Maybe Fielder hits a 2-run homer off Zambrano and that's the only hit he gives up the whole game. There are so many things that can happen. Aces don't always win. #5 pitchers don't always lose. As for your Prior comment. It is the 2006 Mark Prior. Not the 2003 Mark Prior. He's been beatable this year.
  15. Yawn. No Cirillo. No Hart. No Gross. No Gwynn. Apparently last night's 2 hour and 6 minute debacle offensively didn't call for any changes in the lineup.
  16. I was at the game and thought that it was closer to 75/25 in favor of Brewers fans. It was a really good turnout for the Crew fans and I thought the Cubs fans were few and far between.
  17. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the brewers get to Liriano today. The kid is due for a bad outing and the Brewers have the bats to do it. If zach jack can keep them in check I predict a 5-3 brewer win.
  18. While I too think Barry Bonds is the greatest player of all-time (and I really don't think it's even close). It's obvious you have a personal vendetta against him when you start listing "PITCHERS" as players better than him. How in the world can you compare Bonds to Ryan, Clemens, and Spahn?????????????? It's completely impossible.
  19. Watch. Bush is going to keep us in it. It will be 3-3 when Peavy leaves with about 12 K's in the 8th. We win it in 11 innings. I'm feeling a big bang to end this homestand.
  20. Lineup same as last night except Jenkins is back in the 3 hole, with Koskie moving down and Gross out. Let's go CREW!!!!!!
  21. Ned Yost can only play the players that Doug Melvin gives him to work with. When Melvin moved Hendrickson up to the majors, it wasn't to be in the bullpen. Yost's hands are tied in situations where he is choosing a starting pitcher. I think leaving Davis in last night in the 8th inning was Ned's way of saying "Hey Doug..since you gave me a piece of crap pitcher to trot out there tomorrow I have to throw Davis an extra inning because I know that pitcher I have to throw tomorrow won't record an out."
  22. I dont understand why everyone is pretty much writing off scoring anything against Liriano. People are acting like he's the second coming of jesus or something. He's a rookie pitcher. Making his major leauge debut as a starter. On a 60-70 pitch limit. Facing the best offense in the major leagues. The way people are talking.... You would think we are trotting out a lineup of: Alex Sanchez Eric Young Jack Voight Sean Berry Russell Branyan Royce Clayton Alex Ochoa Paul Bako Every pitcher in this league gets lit up from time to time. Pedro does. Sheets does. Unit does. Supposedly the best prospect in the AL (Felix Hernandez from the Mariners) just gave up 10 ER's in 3 innings his last time out. I say...away with all the negative talk....and here's to knocking Liriano back to the showers very early tonight with about 6 runs in 2 innings. This is the 2006 Brewers. Not the 1996 Brewers.
  23. Turnbow is our closer. And an elite one at that. When we have the lead I want him out there if at all possible. We just had an off day on Monday. I'm sure he's good to go. I trust him out there more than anyone else in the pen to shut the door on this very impressive sweep. Plus I think it's important after pulling him yesterday, to get him right back out there to show him.."you're still our guy."
  24. Maybe you're just joking, but once a pitching change has been made, that pitcher must face at least one batter.
  25. Lay off bad chad until July. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
