  1. Ok, let's load 'em up and then take our chances....
  2. It's a cardio workout without leaving my living room! That's the other thing I just told my wife when she asked why I wasn't getting on the treadmill!
  3. Saw a report on MLBTR that the Phillies have scouted Anthony Reyes and it may only take Michael Bourn to get him. I know it would be doubtful that the Cards would trade with Milwaukee, but we could start with Gross or Gwynn, add something and give it a shot. Reyes is not far removed from being one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball, and he certainly looked good against the Crew. Maybe a change would be a good thing.
  4. Ok, way to get out of it. That's certainly a "glass half full or half empty" outing by Linebrink. I guess slightly more toward half full since he did get out of it. And I guess he'll fit right in with T-bow and Coco - now we can do the "let's load the bases and try to get out of it" thing in the 7th, 8th AND 9th innings!!
  5. Ok, I just mentioned to my wife the questions I had earlier about Linebrink's maternity leave... ...she didn't find it nearly as humorous as I did.
  6. well holding a lead is something they at least have a chance to do...as oppossed to undoing a lead in the 8th or 9th. They better start winning again because this thread is getting very confusing.... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  7. Well, so much for their prediction that maybe Linebrink would close things out today.
  8. OK, Brian's House does his job. It sure would be nice to get an insurance run or four.
  9. Balfour significantly lowered his ERA for the season last night in his Devil Ray debut, allowing only 2 runs in his 2 innings of work. Great point!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I saw 2 in 2 and didn't think of it in the positive way!!
  10. Before someone beats me to it, Alert the proper tax authorities. You beat me to it!!
  11. who was "ranting" about it? I was seriously asking why it was ironic. I said Belling rants about it. It's just the wrong use for "ironic", which I believed you were pointing out. I guess I misunderstood why you were asking (thought you were kidding around with your question). It's coincidental that he's played in 57 and there are 57 left as of today, not ironic. I guess I tried to add some humor as well and it was obviously missed. My apologies.
  12. Oh, man. If she likes stats, she's going to love baseball. And I guess probably Hardy's and Braun's butts too. Unless you meant you started with them because they were on the left side of the infield.
  13. Let it rain!! That may be the only way we win this one today!
  14. Is it pouring there? What's going on It was a few minutes ago - now it stopped.
  15. Hall's not hurt - it probably just feels like he took a shower with his uniform on!
  16. Come on.....come on....one more out......then the skies can really let loose.
  17. So, will Tony ask to see the ball now? I think it may be a little wet.
  18. If they checked the ball at LaRussa's request, it just shows how big of a jerk the guy can be. I could not agree more. He always has this love-fest with the media, but I've always thought that he's a big jerk. Just trying to get into Yo's head (although it seems to have worked a little bit).
  19. RAIN! Two more outs and RAIN! Maybe they could get Counsell out there to do a little rain dance.
  20. OH, ok. This was a serious question - sorry about my sarcasm earlier. I agree with all. The scoring suggestion is the best way - I remember learning how to score at a very early age and it really forces you to learn the game. After a few games, you'll have seen almost anything that you will in baseball (except for oddities like triple plays, etc.). And, if she's scoring, you can be drinking Miller Lite.
  21. Have faith in Yo. Strike out right here and inning-ending double play. I feel it, baby!
  22. And, no. My wife doesn't see what I post here.... Come on, Crew. Hold on!
  23. Maybe Moneyball Man thinks it's just a matter of poking her with a stick and out pops the kid! What, that's not how they do it? In fact, for our first, my wife went into labor about 4am, but before getting her to the hospital, I: - showered - stopped at Walgreens for cheap cigars (only place open) - stopped at Burger King for cheap breakfast (only place open) - found a great parking spot at the hospital And by 11am, bingo. Doesn't it always work like this? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
