  1. Re: Linebrink....I posted that with tongue firmly planted in my cheek in case it wasn't obvious. Although I will say that others have had children without taking 3 days off. But it's completely up to Scott and the Brewers and I wish him all the best.
  2. This game feels so much like yesterday's day game, I don't like it. Except you have to believe in Yo. And I really wish he would stop counting "x retired in a row" already!
  3. Watch Cricket and then explain that baseball is easier to understand.
  4. Wow, Sabathia, pitching in the 8th with a 1-0 lead just gave up a run. He also has 11 K's. He could certainly complain about run support his last two outings!
  5. Could Yo compete with Braun for ROY or did he get started too late? I know, that's putting the cart before the horse a little bit, but he's sure pitching well. The key, as it is with all rookie pitchers, will be his second time through the league.
  6. Yeah, saw that as well. Maybe he's just teasing us since he's constantly being asked about trades.
  7. Regression toward the mean. Which mean? Who's mean? If that were always the case, you'd never have all-stars and you'd never have guys that wash out without making it. Maybe Braun is a first-ballot HOFer and will hit .345 for his career. I know, I know, regression toward the mean is another possibility (like an injury).
  8. Alright, Johnny. That's what we're talking about.
  9. Absolutely - we'll take it any way we can get it. But we still need to push over at least one more run here.
  10. Great, Cubs 4-0. I guess the Reds can be beat at home, huh?
  11. Braun is just a stud, isn't he? How many times can that be said? He has to cool off sometime, doesn't he? Just amazing.
  12. And make sure you give up some really good prospects for him!
  13. <========= never been accused of being Mr. Sensitive, but come on Scott! Join the team and make a difference here!
  14. So why are they giving Linebrink three days to have a baby? Isn't his wife having the baby? Fly home this evening (it's a day game here, so he could be at home by 8pm), plan on inducing labor early tomorrow morning. Spend the day with the wife, hugs and kisses all around. Even spend Monday night at the hospital supporting the lovely wife and new addition to the family. But then get on a Tuesday late morning flight back to Milwaukee for the damn game Tuesday night!
  15. Weeks is becoming an interesting situation. His violent swing will continue to put pressure on his wrists and thumbs, so injury concerns will always dog him. And his inability to hit breaking pitches is really a concern. He wouldn't be the first great prospect to breeze through college and the minors and then hit a wall when finally seeing quality MLB pitching (i.e. real pitchers). I've really wanted to be patient with Rickie due to his talent and what he showed when he first arrived. But I'm starting to fall into the camp that is concerned that maybe he won't pan out like everyone thinks/thought.
  16. Rickie may never see a straight pitch again until he can learn to hit a breaking ball. Maybe he does need to spend some time in Nashville after all (and I haven't thought that at all until just recently).
  17. April 25. Amazing that's the last time Rickie hit a home run. I had no idea it had been that long. His wrists/thumbs must really be messed up.
  18. How about CC Sabathia? Didn't he lose a 1-0 game his last time out and today he's only up 1-0 through six innings.
  19. Manny Ramirez... Let Manny be Manny in Milwaukee! Here we go again!
  20. Steroids is an issue and I believe there are lots of guys who are not what they appear to be, have lied about it, have avoided questions, etc. And yes, I believe Bonds knowingly did steroids and has lied about it. I'm also not a big fan of A-rod or Schilling (who Conseco also called out very recently). However, I'm really sick of Conseco. Here's a guy who has acknowledged doing them and now all he's doing is making money by "outing" other players. If he has such great evidence, I sure hope Mitchell and his committee are all over Conseco. But I'm talking about evidence - not just Conseco's opinion and heresay.
  21. rluzinski, do you think anyone posted in the clubhouse that you promised to take that WSP picture off your profile if they make the post season? Maybe some of them think she's still in charge! And I still think you should up up the glamour shot of her....
  22. This could be fun to watch - who has the tally? I think BF is looking to win about $750 so far! Someone better start keeping track. I will say that I predicted (at the start of the season) a 78-84 record. While I think that's still possible, I don't believe it's probably. And a) I hope I'm very wrong and b) I definitely don't want to put any money on it!!
