  1. My grandmother would be a better option right now. She has one nasty Crochet ball.
  2. If anyone read the article in SI on Lincecum they would see how knowledgable the pitching coach in Oakland is. This guy predicted Bobby Brownlee's arm problems and he was done not long after he Cubs picked him. Beane and Peterson know what they are doing. Harden will be out again in no time and not be a factor in the postseason.
  3. Regardless of the percentages, coming back and scoring 1 run in 2 innings is a little less daunting than 5 runs. And what were your odds when Boston was down 3-0 to the Yankees with two left in NY?
  4. That is my one big complaint against Ned. It his confidence in guys that are horrible. I never thought a player could be worse than Estrada but Doug found him in DeMotaed.
  5. Anyone need more evidence? Two homers of one which was against a total scrub.
  6. This one is a win that got away. Pathetic. Thank god Mota is still here.
  7. Did Randy Johnson just lie about his age then?
  8. What is Nelson's value at this point? With Hafner hurting, I honestly thought the Indians would go for him.
  9. Is this a joke? Yes. It was in jest to those saying Braun wouldn't start inPitt's outfield.
  10. I wonder if the Brewers would do a Braun for Nady switch?
  11. What is the "roughly equivalent" figured into? The fact he only goes 5 IP per game or he has pitched a max of 178 IP in one season, or the fact now he has to hit and may also get hurt that way?
  12. This in propensity is what they did to Pittsburgh for Ramirez.
  13. I'd take Sarfate right now over Gagme and Mota.
  14. "When I was appointed general manager in 2003, I had to make many decisions," said Melvin. "The one I am most grateful for is retaining Jack Zduriencik as the individual responsible for the drafting and signing of amateur talent. Jack helps our organization in many other ways but has made his mark and finally is getting recognized for his hard work and ability to identify baseball talent. The Milwaukee Brewers organization recognizes Jack's skills and we thank Baseball America for honoring him with this well-deserved award." http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/content/printer_friendly/mil/y2007/m12/d04/c2316966.jsp Funny of how those in Melvinland forget who was named executive of the year.
  15. Didn't the Cubs pretty much fleece the Pirates for Ramirez?
  16. LuCroy was picked in the 3rd round of the draft and is a great hitter and better defender than Salome. I would hate to lose a catcher than corner outfielder such as Cain or Brantley.
  17. what does that have to do with anything? The Kolb trade with Atlanta, remember? Endaround made the comment, no?
  18. If we lost LaPorta and Green, those two prospects in return better offer a little bit back. LaPorta and LuCroy were both high picks and there is the possibility we only get a squeeze and a two if someone has their number one protected next year.
  19. People who state this seem to forget that the Brewers started out 24-10 last year, all without Braun. The Brewers then faded down the stretch and fell out of first place with Braun in Milwaukee. So I guess it was Braun who blew all those Cordero save ops?
  20. And where o where is Jose Capellan again?
  21. If anyone is 100% sure it's not LuCroy being included, please call me ASAP.
  22. Yet you defended a worse trade last year. This is a no brainer.
  23. He's a Juan Pierre heavy.
  24. I would deal LaPorta and players but not Gamel. IMO, he's got more upside and will be the better hitter overall.
  25. No way I would trade LuCroy. That would be plain foolish.
