  1. This team is so awful, I let my wife turn it to the reality dancing show that just started up. Macha just appears to not care how bad this team gets. At least Yost had these guys playing mediocre defense by the time he was ousted. Macha's team just might be playing the worst defense I have ever seen. The baserunning is just icing on the cake. I am officially cynical Brewerfan for the rest of this year. I may have to stay away from here before I get kicked off.
  2. Then they won 12 games in a row from June 4-14. It's not unthinkable the Brewers could do this. Not that it matters, but I believe it to be completely unthinkable for this to happen.
  3. I think baseball can do whatever they want, and they are going to have to overturn it. Otherwise, the instant replay flame will start to burn way out of control very, very soon.
  4. Weird, a player with enough pride actually realizing when he can no longer play in the league and walks away. I can't seem to think of any other players right now who should do the same thing. Oh wait, I CAN think of TWO players who should take a page from Griffey's recent book, "Leave Now Please!"
  5. This may be the Brewers' best chance at winning a game this series. This may be the Brewers' best chance at winning a game until June 8th. Is Macha high or just incredibly stupid? Well, I'm pretty sure he isn't cool enough to be high, so that leaves only the alternative.
  6. Funny how the talk Hoffman thread turned into a pack it in and call it a season thread. Not that I am trying to shut this topic down, but I am feeding off the irony.
  7. Roll up the banner, gather up the Trevor Time graphics and Hell's Bells single, put them all in a dumpster and call up Waste Management. The jig is up, nobody wants to see any more of this train wreck. I am thinking we will not see any more of LaTroy Hawkins this year, and possibly not next year either. He just very well may complete the quiniela of players Melvin has paid a ton of money to complete their career as a Brewer.
  8. If Hoffman wasn't that bad last night, then he has only been bad once or twice this year. 1 IP; 3 H; 3 ER; 2 BB; 1 SO That will always look bad to me, no matter how hard the ground rule double was hit.
  9. Prince Fielder has been just awful with runners on base this year, borderline pathetic.
  10. Don't worry, when it matters Loe will cough it up. Is that too negative?
  11. If he could get it back together, imagine what he could yield at the trading deadline. I was imagining that last year.
  12. Its not all that tough to tell when the pitcher needs to be removed. The whole Macha can't win idea holds water only because no matter what Macha does its the wrong thing. Its not a luck thing, its a bad manager thing. At least we don't have to lament over whether Hoffman should be the closer for a while.
  13. Nolasco hasn't been good against the Brewers, but he hasn't faced them at home since 2006. I've started to DVR the games. That way I only waste about 45 minutes rather than 3.5 hours each day.
  14. I don't want to imply it will be better next year, just that we wait until next year.
  15. Since Macha is a lame duck, I would think there is zero chance Mark Attanasio signs off on his presence with the Brewers next year.
  16. 9-18 3+2+5=10 I don't see how its going to get any better when it appears to be getting much worse.
  17. If Suppan isn't DFA'ed for Loe he will almost certainly be for Riske. I'm starting to think we may never see the day.
  18. I do see a lot of "what better options are there" comments. Any decent pitcher on the farm is a better option. Excuses have run out on Melvin. People who think he's stealing from the team or insist that he should quit and stop getting paid need to get off their high horses. Who doesn't love something for nothing? I would take it in a heartbeat if someone was stupid enough to give it to me. They also won't have Bill Hall or Risky on the books, this year the team is spending about $25 million for basically nothing. Or Doug Davis, Gregg Zaun, Trevor Hoffman, and Dave Bush. Is this over half of the payroll yet? It's about $46 million I think, for basically nothing.
  19. In general? Wait until next year.
  20. With Brewers: 29-36 (.446); 5.04 ERA; 108 games; 97 starts; 1 complete game; 1.59 WHIP; 4.7 K/9; 1.37 K/BB For $42M, I have no problem with Oates calling this contract a colossal failure.
  21. I may have been slightly wrong about Corey Hart this year. He's on arguably the best run of his career.
  22. This is awesome.
  23. I think it is safe to say Mills can go in the same"poor manager" bucket with Macha. This seems to be a solid correlation as to why the two clubs are battling for last in the division.
  24. For some odd reason I feel good about this game. I think I will go.
  25. So the driver is supposed to go in the opposite direction of where they need to go to appease the people behind him? Whose being selfish here?
