  1. It's Burba time. EDIT - Davis is staying in. God, I hope this doesn't backfire. Tim
  2. Did Jim really say that? Duh! Tim
  3. Good idea, one more inning for Davis sounds good. Dave Burba warming up in the bullpen, at least it's not Jeff Bennett. Tim
  4. I love this lineup, too. I hope we don't get to see Helms screw up another easy play anymore this year. Tim
  5. Nice hustle by Branyan. So, should we keep Doug Davis in another inning even though he's at 100 pitches? I say let him go one more inning to get 7 done. Tim
  6. Beautiful strikeout of one of the Marlins' hottest hitters! Glad to see us get out of that without the Marlins putting any runs on the board. Tim
  7. I agree completely. It's a terrible thing when Yost can't admit his mistakes so he regularly sends out guys like Helms who can't produce offensively and who play shoddy defense. Branyan is obviously better qualified and would give the team some run support which is always needed in any form, and therefore I'm all for starting Branyan everyday. Just a matter of who has the egg on their face and takes the blame for wanting to play Helms day in and day out. Tim
  8. I think the real reason a lot of worthy players like Branyan won't start (no matter who it's against), is because of Wes Helms' fat contract. If they don't start him, management looks really dumb. I'm all for Branyan being the everyday guy, and right now, his defense is looking a lot better than Helms'! Tim
  9. any takers on a Jenks K bet? | Geoff is getting better...this time he flew out to center! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif Tim
  10. Bases loaded, two outs for Geoff Jenkins. Let's get some more runs! Tim
  11. It wasn't pretty, but Counsell stole 2nd after Podsednik struck out. Counsell is a great fundamental baseball player who can get the job done. Nice job, Craig. Yes! Another run! Tim
  12. I'm glad we got Branyan, maybe he can give us the much needed run support our pitchers deserve. Also, nice little play by him at 3rd to gun out Luis Castillo on the groundout. Tim
  13. I'm watching on MLB.TV and the Florida guys say 458, but they also said they think it was longer. Ouch, Brady needs to learn how to steal a base. Florida announcers on Branyan homer: "There was absolutely no way that was 458 feet. If they said 558 feet, that would have been more plausible." Tim
  14. Home run, Russell Branyan! He killed that!!! Tim
  15. Davis and Moeller made Alex Gonzalez look silly on the high heat! Tim
  16. Nice catch by Brady Clark! ja002h - They had Lo Duca's hit as a homer at first? Tim
  17. Beautiful pitch to catch Cabrera looking! Tim
  18. Finally, a decent lineup put together by Yost. Maybe Doug Davis can get another hit today! Tim
  19. Well, I hope Branyan starts today, as does Ben Grieve and maybe Brady Clark (somehow I doubt both of them will). Anyway, let's get Doug Davis his 11th win! Tim
  20. Our bullpen has gone to total crap. Yeah, you're right. They haven't done well as of late. If there's anything encouraging about this game it's that Branyan walked. Not that it matters because there's one out in the 9th and we're down 10 runs! Maybe Doug Davis will get us a win tomorrow. Tim
  21. It just seems like that sometimes Grieve is afraid to swing at pitches, and I have no idea why. It's very strange. Wow, Jeff Conine is a Brewer killer. Grand slam. Tim
  22. Grieve has to stop taking the third strike and he needs to protect. This just in: Jeff Bennett sucks. Tim
  23. Mass, I'm a big Grieve defender, but I also have to agree with you on this one. I didn't see it, but I could tell from Powell's call, (and sarcasm) that it wasn't pretty. I'd like to know what % of Grieve's K's are looking, and how that compares to league average. If there is a single guy in baseball who is (at times) TOO patient at the plate, it's Ben Grieve. Hey, can you tell me what happened with Powell's call and how it involved Grieve? I happen to like Grieve a lot (biased because I'm a fan of his), but wanted to see what happened. Thanks. Tim
  24. Just got back from being out and see that Durrington is starting at 3rd, and Helms at 1st! What's up with that? Also, how did DLR's major league debut go? Doesn't look like he did too well judging by his numbers but I didn't get to see it, the first game is always tough. Thanks. Tim
  25. For some reason it seems that Yost has a tough time sitting his "franchise player" Geoff Jenkins. Tim
