  1. I haven't received any of the other letters back so at this point I am going with the premise that the post office screwed up with the one letter and am going to resend it to the 51st address.
  2. Other than the Maryvale baseball park line that is the address I used.....So I don't know whether to resend it to that address or use the 53rd ave address that the post office suggested. Maybe I will wait a day or two and see if I get back any of the other letters I sent.
  3. I wrote. Milwaukee Brewers C/O Matt Clark (Etc.) 3600 51st Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85031 I only received one back at this point. So I don't know if the other are in limbo or were delivered.
  4. Has anyone sent autograph requests letters to the Brewers to their Maryvale facility? What address did you use? The Brewers web site listed the address as: 3600 N. 51st Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85031. I sent out 6 requests last week and today received back one of them as RTS: forward time expired. The return label said the correct address should be 3805 N. 53rd Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85031. I used google and found something that said the address is officially the 53rd Ave one but it was not on the Brewers page. BTW if the post office can print the correct address on the lettter why can't they just deliver it? Was this possibly done in error? What address are others using and should I expect the the other five letters back?
  5. There isn't one this year, I don't think. They also got rid of the signed baseball that they did the last couple years. Disappointing. They replaced it with the option of receiving all the all-fan giveaways for the entire season which is superior in my opinion.
  6. I read it to mean with each package meaning each order, regardless if it were 2, 4, or whatever tickets, would get 1 bobblehead. I had thoughts of ordering two single tickets in seperate orders so i could get two bobbleheads and then since the seats wouldn't be near each other just buying two other tickets for me and my wife.
  7. That Uecker one will be in DEMAND as that has national appeal. The Ricky Vaughn still sells for a decent amount and that was all fan giveaway in Cleveland and this will be limited to 4,000 and it talks.
  8. That made me laugh and it made me sad that kids these days aren't so into doing what they don't want to do.
  9. As a fan I love Maryvale and will probably stop going down if they build one of the cold mega structures that are all the rage. Also, AZ for ST is 1000 times better than FL. The weather is perfect (especially early) and you can climb a couple of the local mountains or take a drive to Tuscan and visit Saguaro National Park or the Desert Museum which I could not recommend any more. In Florida you are pretty much stuck going to the beaches where the water is still a little cold to swim or going to Orlando and battling the crowds at the Disney Parks. I actually just returned from the 3 Orlando theme Parks and I couldn't believe how busy they have gotten in January and didn't want to even think about them in March.
  10. Hey look it's my birthday thread. I actually ended up getting a few more cards a few days after my birthday from players that took care of their signings as the season ended or in Rob Wooten's case from his home maybe a month after the season ended.
  11. I personally would look into a day or two at Universal Studios as well. I liked the themed rides better although Disney is certainly the more magical place particularly for young girls.
  12. The Melvin audio was great and at the very end he gave fodder to all the people who feel we shouldn't have traded for CC, Greinke, or Marcum (I am not one of those). There can't be a more honest general manager in all of baseball by the way. He's not much for subterfuge.
  13. We spend a bunch of time in Destin (Okaloosa Island) every year so I was really bummed when the Reds got the beautiful new stadium in Pensacola (it was rumored for a while to be Huntsville moving there) but Biloxi is a doable drive so I would imagine I will visit probably once a year if it is a good time. The new stadium doesn't look like it's going to a majestic setting like Pensacola but I do like seeing the young Brewers and it will actually serve as a good halfway point for an overnight trip to New Orleans. I'm indifferent to the name but I showed it to my wife last night and she HATED it and hated the logo.
  14. With as popular as the Hank day was last season I could see another Hank bobble which I'm all for.
  15. The season ticket renewals came and one of the perks offered was a free set of the 13 all fan giveaway Sundays. They didn't call them bobbleheads, just all fan give-aways, but they are having a seperate t-shirt Friday all season long so there may be as many as 13 bobbleheads. This is starting to get out of hand. The shelves in my basement are being filled faster than I can build them Hopefully they get some of the older players such as Teddy, Deer, Vaughn, etc. There will also be a Lucroy in his All Star Uniform for season ticket holders.
  16. It was a pretty cool idea my wife had and a great surprise for me on my birthday to open all those cards. You have to love a present that is something you love that you would have never even considered. I just love the effort she put into it. I guess she even got someone to write letters to the Latin players in Spanish.
  17. There is no great forum for this on this site but I wanted to share. My wife for my 40th birthday made up these cards with some pictures of me and mailed it to the Brewers players, broadcasters, Doug Melvin, Mark Attanasio, Ron Roenicke etc. and asked them to sign it and mail it back to her at her Aunt's house. On my birthday last week I got to open all these cards. She ended up getting 26 players to sign the cards and all the managment/ownership/broadcaster types. Uecker is the only Brewer I've ever sent away for an autograph from and that was 25 or 30 years ago and he didn't send my baseball card back so him sending this back was especially cool. I just thought I would share this with everyone (even though you can't really read what they wrote because I bought a cheap frame to display them and it didn't photograph well) because not only is my wife amazing but most of the people associated with the Brewers are pretty good guys. I would especially like to thank Ellian Herrera who apparently walked around the locker room and got the players who didn't sign the card when my wife sent them at the beginning of the season to sign his. She mailed his in July and the rest of the players near the beginning of the season and magically the 12 players on his card hadn't sent theirs back. Ron Roenicke also collected numerous autographs as well. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v672/loveridge/005.jpg
  18. I live in Saint Paul and the Twins have been worse fundamentally the last few years than the Brewers. It's funny how reputations stick. Also, the respect of his players basically means he is buddy buddy with them and coddles them, and makes excuses.
  19. Not that I disagree with you but at home managers often use their closer in the 9th of a tied game because there will be no save situation.
  20. So nobody blames the players for the losing. Interesting.
  21. I don't think this one will ever be a $10 bobble. This one is drawing people who are specifically going to the game for this bobblehead who maybe don't collect other bobbles. The prices for tickets to the game on the secondary market are as high as any bobble in recent memory.
  22. 2 runs for the Cubs in the 8th and hopefully counting...
  23. How do they give out the retros? Does somebody add one or two to each case randomly before they are brought to the gate or are there cases of retros sitting there and the attendant gives every 10th person one (which seems like it would lead to cheating)? Also, how do people know the 5,000 number for all the old retros or is that a (educated) guess?
  24. I'm a 20 game holder for 4 years now and I was given obstructed view tickets so I emailed my rep and she said that wasn't supposed to happen and she would talk to her boss about finding me a new location. Sort of bummed me out because that meant that I was now behind all the ticketholders who joined in the last 3 years. But it's now been two days and I haven't heard anything. I sent an email yesterday and another just now but I'm getting anxious.
