  1. While that's true they also play in the 3rd best pitchers park in the league, and an argument can be made that it is the best park for suppressing RHB power with that 20 MPH wind routinely blowing in over the left field wall. Well... I have only been to 8 games this year and most of the time it was blowing out to right field. I guess that would suppress RHB power. Three years of data is a small sample size, but the numbers do confirm what your saying.

  3. Converted catcher who is consistently upper-90's, and the Brewers seem to love to protect (and project) the ultra-big arms with limited mileage. Only began pitching during his draft year at Marshall University, 2010. Not exacty sure what's progressed in terms of his off-speed stuff, but 6'5" guy who throws strikes and gets groundballs (stats). Brewers were wise to look past the ERA at Brevard and promote the 23-year-old to Huntsville, where he's been excellent, nearing dominant. Just sayin'... I like the fact that Shackleford doesn't walk a lot of guys and has an overall whip of 1.20. A couple of Brevard's starting pitchers have shown improvement from last year. When we look at the overall numbers, let's not forget that they are pitching against better hitting teams in the FSL.

  5. Here are my picks...Nelson, Heckathorn, Richardson, Hall, Davis, J. Rogers, Cravy
  6. Here are my picks...Nelson, Heckathorn, Richardson, Hall, Davis, J. Rogers, Cravy
  7. Might of won the first half if Scarpetta stayed in Maryvale...
  8. More likely that he reached an inning pitch limit north of 30-something. A few Brewer pitchers have been pulled from games recently because of a similar outing. All after two outs, none on... Lakeland Bottom of the 1st Chad Wright flies out to left fielder T. J. Mittelstaedt. Dixon Machado flies out to center fielder D' Vontrey Richardson. Devon Travis walks. Aaron Westlake singles on a line drive to right fielder Mitch Haniger. Devon Travis to 3rd. Aaron Westlake to 2nd on the throw. Francisco Martinez singles on a ground ball to right fielder Mitch Haniger. Devon Travis scores. Aaron Westlake scores. Steven Moya reaches on a missed catch error by pitcher Mark Rogers, assist to first baseman Nick Ramirez. Francisco Martinez to 3rd. Jason Krizan walks. Steven Moya to 2nd. Jeff McVaney singles on a line drive to right fielder Mitch Haniger. Francisco Martinez scores. Steven Moya scores. Jason Krizan to 3rd. Pitching Change: Alex Moore replaces Mark Rogers. Adolfo Reina walks. Jeff McVaney to 2nd. Chad Wright grounds into a force out, shortstop Yadiel Rivera to second baseman Gregory Hopkins. Adolfo Reina out at 2nd. wow...same thing just happened to Scarpetta....only .1 inning...
  9. Rogers was gone after .2 inning...did he get hurt?
  10. A couple amazing stats are that Tyler Cravy and Stephen Peterson have not hit a batter this year.
  11. Granted, Macias was not playing great but when you bring in a high prospect, you would expect him to be better, which hasn't been the case. I'm am and always will be confused as to who comes up with all these Prospect rankings. 85% of them are bogus.
  12. Don't understand how Delmonico was a #4 prospect with Baltimore and now a #5 prospect with the Brewers. His numbers are horrible and his fielding isn't much better...
  13. From what I have heard, blisters have been a problem for a lot of pitchers in the FSL. Might have something to do with humidity and heat.
  14. Brevard County's minor league notes say Cravy relies on command, not velocity to retire batters...interesting because the Dunedin Announcer said he was still throwing 94-95 in the sixth inning. Last 11 outings have been quality.
  15. Wish they would of sent Wagner to Brevard County instead of Arnett...We need to make a playoff push...
  16. I have seen several games and he has raw speed. I saw him make a diving catch in the right center gap that might be one of the best I have ever seen by anyone professionals or minors. The guy is hitting the ball for average and takes an approach with 2 strikes that more of the manatees hitters should take....put it in play and don't swing for the fences. He just came back to the game and from what I saw...this guy if going to be around awhile. The manatees pitchers can be thankful that this guy came back. He has had a few miscues...like getting picked off first several times but that is to be expected with the long layoff. He should be a top 25 prospect as should some of the manatees pitchers...check out the pitchers stats....very good. Last thing...Mark Dewey is doing a great job with the manatees pitching staff.
  17. Got a chance to see D'Vontrey playing centerfield. The guy has some serious speed, which should help the Brevard pitching staff, plus his bat is pretty good for only playing around 20 games in a year and a half.
  18. You might be thrilled but what I saw over last couple days was very lackadaisical and bad play at 3rd base. On defense, multiple routine plays were given hits that should of been given errors. Not what I would expect from a #4 prospect in any organization. His bat has hopes of glimmer which can hopefully make up for the defense.
  19. Based on what I have seen this year...Goforth deserves to be moved up to AA.
  20. I just don't understand bringing all these guys back...promote some guys and give them a chance.
  21. Sad to see that Stosh was released. I hope to see him playing somewhere soon.
  22. Haven't the Brewers farm systems over the past 4 years won an Arizona League title, Midwest League Title and a Pioneer League Title? That's probably better than most of the organizations.
