  1. Are these minor league contracts one year deals or multiple years?
  2. Loney is good but not for that kind of money. The only guy we can afford is Brett Pill.
  3. TC07, DSL, seriously? I have a hard time fathoming trading for an "under-the-radar" equivalent of high-A Tyler Cravy (who is just three days younger than Smith, by the way, and could simply be plucked in Rule 5). Trading isn't solely about outsmarting someone. I thought you'd be doing cartwheels over this deal (maybe not cartwheels, but jumping jacks, anyway), and you know I respect the heck out of you, but I'm starting to wonder if Doug Melvin could ever truly please you. Does anyone have numbers on how a pitcher performs when changing leagues from national to american or vice versa? Pitcher or Hitters advantage? I think the trade is good. Maybe Smith figured some things out last year that will help him going forward.
  4. Maybe they are going to change him to a side-winding lefty reliever since they keep trying to produce one...
  5. Does anyone know what team Jason Rogers is playing for in the Dominican League?
  6. Just my opinion but I thought we should of kept Sanchez. Glad he got on a team.

  8. Rogers played a lot of outfield in the AFL and always seemed to get great jumps on ball hit to him. He always hit the cutoff on extra base hits which I thought was smart. For a guy that didn't play a lot of outfield...he looked pretty good out there.

  10. I really don't understand why Hall was added. Is he going to be a starter at the Major level this year or next? or are they making him a reliever? Probably just Brewers Management protecting the bonus money they gave Hall. Best hope for Cravy at this point...Rule 5 draft.

  12. OMG...Was at the game...The scorekeeper blew the play in the second inning. A routine little league ground ball that gets miffed by the 3rd baseman.. in turn leads to a homer. Definitely should of been an error. Would of been out of the inning if the routine play is made...Later in the game a diving play by Surprise player that gets knocked down was ruled an error. I think the AFL scorekeepers need some extended fall training.
  13. Tyler Cravy is getting a spot start today against Salt River.
  14. Haniger has cooled off a bit since his hot start but overall looks good to me. He took advantage of a 3rd baseman playing way off the line by lacing one over the bag. Overall good plate selection. I think when he bulks up a little more...you may see more power from him. Cravy looked great as did Shackleford. Cravy was pounding the strike zone 25 pitches, 21 for strikes. So far the Brewers are representing the AFL pretty well. The Orioles have a couple players that stood out. Good to hear. It's refreshing to hear about guys not considered top prospects in the Brewers organization (besides Haniger) looking so good. It makes me think that our system is not as terrible as some people say. There are some high prospect pitchers in the AFL getting lit up. Our pitchers are doing a great job considering the strike zone is about the size of a basketball and the quality of hitters in the AFL. I think we have some legitimate talent making their way up the ladder.
  15. Baseball America is a commercial enterprise. What fan base has the biggest following? Hint. It's not the Brewers. Anyone can concoct a formula that produces a result they are looking for whether or not that formula has any validity or not. Our farm system isn't as bad as Baseball America makes it out to be. We won the Pioneer League a while back and then a Midwest League title a couple years ago and came very close to making the playoffs in the FSL last year. Are any of those players going to make it? Who knows, but I do see some definite improvement from quite a few brewers minor league players. Baseball America is a joke in my opinion, probably owned by agents of high profile prospects.

  17. Just a note...Rogers single in the first was a routine fly lost in sun by left fielder. Was at the game and love Rogers approach at the plate and surprised how well he played outfield...gets a great jump on balls hit to him.
  18. Great Article...I wish those players the best, especially Lintz.
  19. No D'vo, No Hall, No Cravy...am I missing something? If the junior Hawaii Fall League was still in place, you'd be calling bingo! In the case of the three you list here, you're just a year early. They already started to limit innings for Hall and Cravy, and considering last year's absence, pushing D'Vo beyond Labor Day may be a bit much. Cravy was added to the AFL roster.
  20. Report said the Brewers have 2 playoff teams...I think that is wrong.
  21. Congrats Jimmy, if any deserves a call up it's you!
  22. I don't think the Brewers are so tight on 40-man roster spots that they wouldn't carry Rogers through the winter. I agree!

After watching some games...I'm excited about D'vo...I love the guys speed in the OF. Still raw at times, but after a long layoff, that would be expected. I am looking forward to next spring training and what he picks up from it.
