  1. I agree... Lucroy Gambled. So did Villar and McGehee. Lost a ton of money over valuing their services.
  2. Watching the Angels broadcast, no big deal. Go Brewers
  3. Cubs did not show interested in Arrieta for a reason. Tread lightly Milwaukee. And after seeing Burnes pitch, I know one inning, I am interested in seeing more.
  4. Am I losing my patience???? No, it's spring training for crying out loud.
  5. Having a year of seeing MLB pitching, I feel Thames will hit for a higher average. The home runs will always be there. Off season reflection helped getting ready for this year.
  6. I wish Luc the best, but not with the Brewers.
  7. As you can plainly see, I do not post much, but read the Brewer fans opinion daily. I have to smile thinking, if the Brewers would have paid the amount the Cubs spent, what would have been the general consensus? Outrage/spent too much? Comments about the ghosts of over spending on Garza and Suppan? Glee over having beat out the Yankees, Dodgers, and the Cubs for Yu's services? We as a small market team, cannot afford to put all our eggs into the Darvish basket. 6 years is a large commitment on a single player, let alone a pitcher. The first pitcher domino has been played, let's see what DS has in mind to fill out our Starting Pitching.
  8. Their is zero way I give any pitcher a 6 year contract for a pitcher who is 31 years old.
  9. I agree and this is not a big blow.
  10. Cubs had no choice but overpay for Darvish's services... We are now able to concentrate on other pitchers verses waiting. The key is OVER PAY
  11. Since the subject is Tom Haudricourt, I appreciate his reporting and his passion for the game.
  12. It comes down to this, the perceived value is in the eyes of the player/their agent. The reality is what ownership is willing to spend. The remaining free agents ego's are in for a rough patch these next 4 weeks. I feel the Brewers need to relax and let the players start to panic, as they may be sitting in their living rooms complaining to their agents in March.
  13. HighHeat... How was the fishing? Catch any keepers like Yelich and Cain? I appreciate your posts.
  14. Fat, short, skinny, or too tall. As long as he gets batters out, I could care less.
  15. If David Stearns repeats his brief and productive dealings, I am suspecting he is considering dealing for a pitcher or even better, restocking the minor leagues with valuable/future tradeable prospects. After all, they are just unproven prospects that other needy organizations deem valuable. Allow them to take the risk and we reap the rewards of pieces like Christian Yelich.
  16. My thought is a significant move will happen prior to the On Deck extravaganza.
  17. I like prospects and the the concept of them reaching the majors as much as any one here commenting. But they are prospects/ an unknown. Stearns has built a strong group of minor leaguers to develop or trade to make our parent club competitive. Do I want to see Phillips or Brinson traded? Not really, but I want to watch and enjoy a fruitful 2018 season. And if Stearns deems them pawns in a year to WIN. So be it. IN DS I TRUST
  18. I agree... Why overpay
  19. Gallardo cost us none of our valued prospects and at 31 years old, he MAY have something left in the tank. Great story for the 2018 season if he competes and provides value
  20. Hesitant to "give away the farm" for one quality pitcher. If they develop arm issues, such as Thornberg did, your investment is for nothing. I am suspecting that Boston wished they has Shaw and the prospects back. I understand that you need to make an attempt to grow your pitching staff, but not at the expense of your quality farm hands.
  21. The Rich get richer... I agree that the Dodgers seem to be on the losing end of competing for quality talent and I find that odd. The good news is Stanton would not be swinging a bat in Wrigley Field.
  22. No issue with bring Vogt back...Always like having a left handed bat available especially at Miller Park
  23. I stopped reading and watching ESPN news years ago because it was very east coast friendly and they reported their "pet teams"... So this report/article, like so many others, is not of value.
  24. Season is over... How close were you to your guess on the end of the season record? I had 80-82
