  1. Evra should have been Red carded also
  2. From the article I just read it said he win it if the Giants only played 161 games. since it would only take 499 PA to qualify
  3. He's the special one. grass stains don't stick to his pants
  4. A source tells Ben Badler of Baseball America that the Brewers are not planning to renew the contract of Fernando Arango, who has been one of the team's top scouts in Latin America since 2003. The club is looking for more production out of their Latin American department as they continue to work with a low-to-mid-range budget.
  5. I never saw any kids in Dempsey's Fulham shirt, I doubt it will be a big seller now that he screwed up and went to the Spurs. AVB will wreck that team and they'll end up in that 10-12 range if he lasts the whole season. My Spanish team Betis should stay up again this year, look forward to seeing them in the spring.
  6. How many innings did he pitch this year? Are we going to run into the same thing next year if he makes the starting rotation? We've had so much bad luck with starting pitchers that it'd be great to see Mark turn into an above average starter.
  7. The Brewers just cleared space on their roster for the return of catcher Jonathan Lucroy by designating catcher George Kottaras for assignment. That means they decided to keep as the backup Martin Maldonado, who has performed well since coming up from the minors. The Brewers also have optioned infielder Jeff Bianchi back to Class AAA Nashville and called up reliever Jim Henderson from the club to bolster their sagging bullpen. Kottaras had been in a prolonged batting slump that dropped his average to .209 in 86 at-bats with three homers and 12 RBI. Maldonado has been an unexpected offensive contributor, batting .275 with five homers and 19 RBI in 153 at-bats. Maldonado is also rated a better defensive catcher and that combination has won him the backup role behind Lucroy. »Read Full Blog Post(14)
  8. It says they are looking for 3rd base help now and would consider a vet for vet swap. It helps both teams out.
  9. The Diamondbacks are currently 39-43 and seven games out in the NL West, and Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that they would consider trade offers from Justin Upton if they fall further out of contention. They will target a third baseman if they instead move closer to contention. Rosenthal says GM Kevin Towers is open to any type of deal, meaning they could buy, sell, or make a veteran-for-veteran swap that helps now. Upton has been involved in trade rumors before, specifically during the 2010-2011 offseason. The 24-year-old has hit just .266/.348/.378 with seven homers this year after placing fourth in the MVP voting last season. He's under contract through 2015 for approximately $41.9MM and is the type of player that will draw interest from every other team in the league if available. Aram and Tplush for Upton? Hart moves to 1st full time aoki in RF Carlos the 4th OF and Green/ransom at 3rd
  10. Nope. They don't need to know
  11. Tess is really good also.
  12. I honestly dont see them trading greinke. I dont think teams are going to give up 2 1st round pick type talents for a 3 month rental. That should be the floor where Doug starts the bidding.
  13. If that player is a SS who is locked up for 4-5 years then pull the trigger. And I do think a SS and a 1st baseman who can both hit over 300 would get us back in the race. Hart could stay in RF and once Lucroy comes back we'd have a really solid team. It's not going to happen but it would be cool if Doug could pull it off
  14. he Cubs are letting teams know that nearly every player except Jeff Samardzija is available in trades, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. Some teams are already calling the 18-32 Cubs about potential deals. "We're starting to get some early calls now," president of baseball operations Theo Epstein told Nightengale. "There might be fewer sellers than usual and a lot more buyers. This has a chance to help us. We need core players." Starlin Castro could be obtained for two impact prospects, according to Nightengale. First baseman Bryan LaHair and starters Matt Garza and Ryan Dempster could also be acquired. The Cubs will contribute cash in a deal involving Alfonso Soriano, who earns $18MM per season through 2014. Castro and LaHair get us back in the playoff race. The price would be really steep though.
  15. Time to move Hart to 1st and give Aoki the full time RF job? Keep Green around to fill in at 3rd,2nd and 1st. Ransom and Maysonet as the SS(yikes)
  16. Why bother? Bring up some of the young arms to AAA.
  17. got my 20 pack today
  18. denon is the way to go.Grab either a 1912 or a 1712 . $550 or $400
